Different sort of hotel, decent location in city centre. Booked via Booking.com and selected a double room. Our room happened to be on the 4th floor, which we were unaware was on the top floor but access to the room is on the roof, so it is outside. Fine if the weather is nice, but dreadful if it rains which is frequent in Bergen. Puddles everywhere. The room has one slim frosted glass window to the side of the door to let some light in. The actual lighting is not very good at all. It is fair to say this room design is more a designers trendy idea with little regard for people who stay more than one night. There is nowhere to hang clothing except a poor space behind a mirror. The chairs do not fit the spaces they are in, in the room. Bathroom almost functional. Sink is trendy shape with no sureness for soap provided. All in all not a great stay as again the pillows are poor, which seem to be a thing in Scandinavia. Would we stay again, definitely not. There are plenty of choices in Bergen so a few more £'s spent you would probably be better off. Breakfast was one redeeming feature.

Positive aspect. The rooms are tiny, it was cold at night ("it's the beginning of the chilly season and the heating system has not adjusted itself"). Building the shower without a door or curtain and instead putting a scrubber with a rubber lip to clear up the flooding after showering is probably one of the dumber ideas. There are no drinking cups or toothbrush cups, and there are also few power sockets. On top of that, there is a receptionist who obviously feels disturbed by our arrival during a private phone call. Check-in is guaranteed from 3 p.m., but when we arrived at 2 p.m. we were told that the rooms were ready, but that immediate check-in costs €15, or we would have to wait an hour.

greeted with a warm welcome for checking in. Room was as expected if not better! Very polite staff everywhere we went (I.e. the chef and cleaners). Breakfast choice had large variety and was at a good standard, thoroughly enjoyed it! Bed was super comfy, shower room was a delight and the area surrounding the hotel was perfect for a long weekend exploring Bergen, based in the very centre. P.s. LOVE the design of the room!

Terrible experience here. They did not deliver the room we had booked and were completely indifferent about it. Hotel is under renovation so even finding it is a challenge. Hotels seem to be accessed through drug/grocery stores which is just weird.
Our room had an air conditioning noise rattling all night, which meant sleep was terrible.
Breakfast, located at another hotel was the poorest we had in Norway, all the hot food was stone cold.
We ended up getting a room at another hotel at additonal cost.
Only positives was, 24 hours later someone tried to help (it was too late by then) and the location across from the fish market is excellent.
Wouldnt stay here again.

Positives first - Hotel was in a great location, the staff were friendly and did everything they could to accommodate us and were able to store our luggage after check out as we had a late flight home.
However, the room we stayed in the first night was directly above the kitchen of the restaurant below and also overlooking the dining room of the restaurant. The noise from the kitchen was pretty bad, but nothing compared to the night club adjoining. There was a back door into the night club from the atrium that our room overlooked and when this was opened (which it was, constantly) the noise was unbearable. We ended up having to move room to a room on the roof which was much quieter, but involved a fifteen yard walk through the elements on the rooftop to reach it. After a long day at work, flying and arriving late in the evening, this was the last thing we needed. Any rooms overlooking that atrium should not be sold at the weekends when the nightclub is open.

Dear, Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback on TripAdvisor, we appreciate it. We are happy that you enjoyed out location and staff. The hotel is located in the lively center of Bergen, so there can sometimes be noise from the nearby city and nightlife. We have sent a message to the bar in question, as they should not make so much noise that it is affecting our guests. Have a nice day! With best regards, Ane, Hotel Manager Magic Hotels

This hotel room is ugly, with a huge, grotesque pattern on the bathroom walls, and a pattern on the carpet that can actually make you dizzy if you look at it. The bathroom sink and shower are a black resin material that is aggressively unpleasant, and also don't drain. The room could easily accommodate a much more roomy bathroom counter, but instead has 2-3 feet of wasted space. There is no storage space--no drawers or shelves, and only a minimal number of hooks on which to hang hangars. The shower and bathroom floor get very slippery when wet. Breakfast includes a lot of stale bread and pastry, minimal fruit, and much less in the way of cheese and fish than most hotels in Norway. The layout is confusing and the desk staff for late arrivals does not explain how to get to your room. The location is good but that does not compensate for these unpleasant features.

Dear, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay at Magic Hotel Korskirken. We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the design of our hotel, which is known for its patterns and minimalistic style by renowned designer Karim Rashid. As a design hotel, we understand that our aesthetic may not be for everyone. Our patterned bathroom walls and carpet are a signature element of the hotel's design, and we recognize that this may not be to everyone's taste. We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced in the bathroom, including the lack of storage space, and the slippery floors. We will work to address these issues to improve our guests' experience. We're sorry that you did not enjoy our breakfast selection. We appreciate the feedback and will take it on board to improve the choices for our guests' future stays. In terms of location, we are happy that you found it convenient, and we apologize for any confusion that you experienced with our desk staff. We appreciate your feedback and will ensure that we improve our communication with guests arriving late to avoid any confusion. Thank you for your feedback, and we hope that we will have the chance to welcome you back to our hotel in the future. Best Regards, Ane, Hotel Manager

Pretty much one of my worst hotel experiences. I It is permanently loud, as the walls are thin as paper. I had a room with an window to the inside. In the inside of the hotel is a small bar. People are sitting time and you can hear them shouting and singing. At the first day, you could smell old fat from the bar below.
Furthermore, you can hear music from the adjacent pub. When I talked to the receptionist about it, she seemed pretty surprised. Reading other reviews, I believe that she actually should be aware of this situation. However, she told me that she asks the pub to turn the music down. Of course, they did not. One just cannot offer 140 euros for a bedroom, in which is it so loud, that one is unable to sleep. I want my money back!
The room was TINY. Nothing to add here.
We were a group of people at the hotel. It seems that some rooms are better than other ones. However, I highly recommend to avoid this hotel at all costs.

Be Cautious before booking this hotel room if you are looking for a nice decent stay. Don't go on the pictures, there is no Magic, the rooms are extremely small, just a smaller size double bed fits in the rokm and that's it. No Safe Box in the room, no place to open ypur luggage as there's nothing in the room except a bed. And a very sharp wooden piece of irritating dresser the have. This wooden dresser hits your knee everytime you pass by.
And the most irritating is that water is permanent flowing in WC, bathroom faucet are ill working.
Nothing good i could find except the location. Not at all recommended for families.
I asked to change the room, they are asking me money for that. I ll raise numerous complaints against this hotel for their services.
Worst hotel i have seen in my life.

Dear Yashikatakkar, We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback about your recent stay with us. We're sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We want to emphasize that the sizes of our rooms are clearly stated on our website and during the reservation process, as we understand that room size can be an important factor for our guests. The standard size of our rooms is in line with what is typical for hotels in Norway. We do offer larger room categories such as our superior rooms, which we recommend for guests who desire more space. We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with the dresser in your room. We will look into this issue and take steps to address it. We appreciate your feedback regarding the bathroom fixtures and will have our maintenance team investigate them as well. Regarding a room change, we are sorry that we were not able to accommodate your request. We do our best to fulfill any guest requests, but sometimes this is not possible due to availability and occupancy levels. We hope that you will give us another chance to provide you with a better experience in the future. If you would like to discuss your stay further, please do not hesitate to contact us directly. Best regards, Ane, Hotel Manager

Terrifying experience in shacks made of iron heated by the sun located on the top floor without air conditioners and with fake windows that cannot be opened, only with a small fan, an oven!!!! we contacted booking to have different rooms by paying a difference and we ended up in another hell where the windows overlooked a pizza place that was frequented by homeless people who went partying every night.
I'll stop here otherwise I'd have to write a book.
In short, an experience worth erasing.

I don't know about the checkout mechanics, but I definitely recommend looking for a different hotel if you can. Also, don't buy the Bergen pass--it's a real "gotcha" expensive and the attractions either aren't covered or are closed, and the people who tell you this practically smirk about it
