Detailed Reviews
I'm conflicted about this hotel. My partner booked it so I'm not sure how much of the following information was advertised. If so I'm not sure I would have selected it, if it was down to me.
The room it's self was large and modern with very funky curtains and wallpaper. The bed was comfy and the bedroom itself was clean. The room contained a desk, TV seat, shelves which contained decorations and the bed. There was 1 hook for a jacket but apart from that there was 0 storage space. It had large windows which let in plenty of light and opened to ventilate the room. The curtains were black out curtains which were helpful in the norweigan summer sun. The curtains were several curtain hooks missing and if you pulled the curtains slightly too far it would come off the rail- ab inconvenience especially when they are so long and high. Thankfully we are handy and fixed them ourselves .
The room also contained a coffee machine and kettle with a 2 coffee pods, a few sachets of sugar and 2 bags. No milk was provided and when I messaged to asked for some I was told the hotel don't offer this service and should purchase some from the shop downstairs. I would have been happy to do this if there was a fridge in the room, but there was not. I'm
The bathroom was large, modern and clean enough but maybe could have done with a deep clean into the grout. The shower was powerful and was a good temperature but over flowed and flooded the whole bathroom if you were having more than a quick wash- I.e if your washing your hair do not leave your clothes on the floor. This could well be an isolated incident to room 508.
The location of the hotel was good it was quiet central close to the shopping district of Bergen, around a 10 minute walk to Bryggen and a 15 minute walk to the train and bus station.
The hotel was located in a multipurpose building.
The ground floor was part of a shopping centre, with other floors containing offices. There was no reception and everything was done independently using your phone as a method of entry onto each hotel floor. So if you do choose to stay here make sure your phone is charged. Check in instructions were sent a few hours before and you needed to download an app to gain entry. There was a number to call if you needed assistance or out of hours it was suggested to scan the QR code to send the reception a message- some people might like this
approach with covid but personally I find it a but impersonal.
Overall the location and comfort of the hotel was good and had good disabled access with automated main doors, wide access doors into all corridors, bathrooms and arm rests on the toilet. I just feel the experience was impersonal and was definitely a budget hotel.

We heard that the reception was closed after 4pm so we arrived early. Then to find the reception. It is NOT at the back entrance but in the front, in the middle of the shoppingmall…
The gum chewing clerk gave us the room card en then the search for the elevator started. Whole the way back to the building, 2 stories up to the 5th floor
The smell of cheap air refreshing welcomes you and you will doubt if you are in the right hotel, particular after opening the room door and find a pink/rose room interieur.
Showering in the evening was an adventure as the drain of the shower was clogged. Lifting the lit showed a filter that was not cleaned for the past years. And I am not going to do that….
The rooms are noisy when opening the window, so the hotel provide earplugs….
The beds make up for a lot, good clean beds!!!
The next morning we filed the complained about the shower, but the ladies behind the reception offert a new room instead of cleaning the mess. We thanked for that as we are not going to pack without knowing where we were heading into…..
So yes, the rooms are clean and central located, but don’t expect extras

Dear, Magic Hotel Xhibition now has a receptionist available 24 hours a day at Magic Hotel Korskirken. You can check in with your mobile key or visit them to pick up a physical key. We are proud of our central location in the middle of the city center in Bergen, this of course have pros and cons. You will be close to everything, but it will of course be some noise - especially if you keep the window open. Please note that your concerns have been passed on to our staff. We do hope you give us another chance as we will definitely improve our services for next time. Have a nice day! Best regards, Ane, Magic Hotels

I stayed at this hotel as my first stop on a longer trip around Norway. I wanted somewhere nice and central and the hotel ticks these boxes. The rooms are spacious and the harbour, train station and all bus and tram routes are within a short walk. I also found the hotel to be good value for money compared to other hotels in Bergen for the location.
The key issue is the customer service and finding the hotel. I almost gave this review a one star because the experience was just so awful! And I would be reluctant to recommend it to others based on this point.
The hotel is located in the Xhibition shopping centre and it is really unclear where it is if you don't already know what you're looking for. There isn't really any proper signs.
I had already told the hotel in advance what time I would arriving yet when I got to where I thought it was, the lights were off and there was nowhere around. This was around 3pm so well within the check in time. When I called up, the lady who answered told me she wasn't there and would come back and check me in later.
It was absolutely pouring with rain at this point and it was so frustrating and stressful landing in a new country and then finding your hotel closed! When the receptionist finally arrived, she did not even apologise and had a very bad attitude.
There also really isn't a proper dedicated reception area and the service hours are really limited. Apart from the receptionist on my first night, I saw no other staff member my whole stay. So if anything goes wrong in the evening, you're kind of stuck - I am not sure what I would have done if my keycard had stopped working or something! Thankfully that didn't happen.
Overall, there are clear issues with check in and customer service which really detract from the good parts of the hotel such as the central location.

Hi AjalaTT, Thank you for taking the time to review us here on TripAdvisor. We are sorry that your stay did not live up to your expectations. Service is something we work hard on and that is something we receive good feedback for, so that you had a bad experience with our reception do we think is regrettable. Our reception is inside the shopping center on the 2nd floor, and is only open from 11 am to 4 pm as informed before booking. We have a sign at the entrance to our guests that explains how to get in and who to contact if problems arise. At the reception we also have a lobby area where our guests can sit. There is a sign in the elevator that tells you where you can walk to reach the reception which is on the 2nd floor inside the mall. This information is also in the TV-screen. Based on your description, you must have either arrived at Easter during one of the holidays or on a Sunday? Then the shopping center is closed and there is a sign at the main entrance to the center that says that you can ring the door bell and the reception will let you in, otherwise you can go via self-check-in. We are sorry that you had to wait to be let in, something must have happened here where our receptionist was away to help some other guests - but we are sorry that she did not inform you about this and could not help you faster. If she had bad behavior, I'm sorry about that. Feel free to send me an email to xhibition@magichotels.no and tell me what date you checked in and I will investigate this with the relevant person who was at work. That you did not see anyone else during your stay is because you did not visit the reception area - we are there every day. If something happens in the evening then there is general information on the TV screen where it is informed that if you need to contact someone outside our opening hours it is via Messenger, and there is a phone number to Securitas there as well that you can call. This information is also on the inside of the door in the room and down by the front door - so here we have to disagree with your feedback as we have informed about this in several places. In addition, all guests get access to mobile key, which is an app you can use in addition to key cards to open the doors. We apologize anyway that you did not think our service was any good and I hope you send us an email so we can check this with the person in question. Have a nice day and welcome back. Best regards, Ane, Hotel Manager Magic Hotels

Room was a good size and the décor was probably not to everyone's taste but was relatively new and clean. The problem was the room stank. I guess as an old building the drainage is shot which is all well and good until you have to try and sleep in it. Surely there is something that can be done to mitigate the smell or if not then the rooms are not fit for human habitation. I fear this hotel displays a disregard for its guests comfort and an unwillingness to spend money to fix a serious issue.

We checked in at Magic Hotel Exhibition - check in support was cumbersome and inefficient. We had to download an App which wouldn't load so had to go to another branch to collect the key card. This seems more like a hostel or self catering apartment.
Was told the hotel had 24/ h reception but no one picked up the phone after several attempts so gave up.
No wifi instructions, no cooling or heating instructions no information in the room about any facility
One of the booked rooms had no kettle but had a pair of ear plugs!! This room was next to a concert venue and we were not informed!
Cramped rooms and poor customer service. Will not recommend to anyone unless you are willing to put up with poor quality. It wasnt cheap either!

+1
Modern hotel in a shopping center, with entry code after reception hours. Worked out xcellent. Right around the corner you have bergen light rail which brings u straight 2 aip in 40 min for 40 NOK. Very convenient.
Rooms are spacey, nice, bright, clean.
Xcellent email communication.
At this time of the year I can not report loud noise from disco or such.

The rooms are clean and decorated in a modern, futuristic style. The hotel is located in the Xhibition shopping center and is therefore very centrally located.
Unfortunately, the hotel does not have a reception; a code is sent via SMS when booking, which must then be entered into a special app. The rooms should be unlocked at 3:00 p.m. sharp. Between the time I made the booking and the time I left, I changed my smartphone. Despite asking and being confirmed that I would receive the code again, this was not the case. So I had to check in at a hotel of the same chain nearby and luckily received a physical key card. Since there is no staff at the hotel, luggage storage is also not possible. The hotel recommends using the lockers at the train station, which cost 39-69 NOK per hour. The stairwell is also very poorly designed and has more the character of an industrial building. The design of the bathroom may look modern, but since the shower is only separated from the rest of the bathroom by a pane of glass on one side, the entire bathroom is under water after use. The bathroom also has a door and a "window" made of frosted glass, which may not be suitable depending on your travel companion.

The app for check-in didn’t work properly. Staff failed to help, wanted me to walk to another hotel in the city to receive a key. Had to book another hotel at own cost. Hotel did not want to give a refund. I also met a BIG RAT on my way out of the hotel. The hotel also wanted me to cancel the room (but no refund) so that they could have other paying guests. Terrible experience, terrible service.

Dear, Thank you for taking the time to review us here on TripAdvisor. We are sorry that our hotel didn't meet your expectiations. If the app doesn't work, then you need to go to Magic Hotel Korskirken, that is located only 3 minutes walking away so you can get a normal key card. We cannot send a refund because of this, as we have a reception that is open 24 hours close to the hotel, as we explained to you. You are welcome to reserve a room here again, or at one of our staffed hotels. Have a nice day Best regards, Ane, Magic Hotels

The experience with a hotel without a reception was not very pleasant. The first night we didn't really feel safe for several reasons, including the fact that the door leading to the rooms from the shopping center does not lock, while it should, so you don't have to open it with your card because you can open it straight away. It said the rooms were cleaned every day, but I don't know what they did during that time. Beds not made, floor not vacuumed, bathroom dirty and trash can not emptied. The only thing that was always done was emptying the other trash can and opening the curtains. That's it. Other than that the experience was okay. Everything is there, the bed sleeps well and we received good help at the reception in the other hotel. Security makes rounds in the hotels without a reception, we were told, which made us feel safer.
The hotel is very well located in the center, you can walk everywhere in 5 minutes and there is a shopping center underneath with everything you need.

We enjoyed our stay at Magic Xhibition. Easy train ride from the Bergen airport. The check-in is in a different building about 5 minutes walk away, but after that, the hotel itself was very centrally located by the fjord, town square, and lots of restaurants and cafes. Breakfast was not included, but there was a cafe on the ground floor and a rooftop restaurant on the top floor. The room itself was comfortable and clean. Would stay again.

I didn't hear back from the hotel but I found the info as follow, ranked based on rates. I ended up parking at #3.
1. ByGarasjen
Fjøsangerveien 4, 5008 Bergen, Norway
10 minutes walk to Magic Hotel Xhibition
150Kr/19$ for 24 hours
2. KlosterGarasjen
Address: Vestre Murallmenning 14, 5011 Bergen
9 minutes walk to Magic Hotel Xhibition
200Kr/$25 for 24 hours
3. City Park P-hus aka Parking Bergen
5 minutes walk to Magic Hotel Xhibition but the other direction as above
Markeveien 7, Bergen, Hordaland 5012, NO
230Kr/29$ for 24 hours
Dear mjm814,
Both works fine, the train is cheaper but uses longer time. Train and bus stops close to hotel.
Wish you welcome to Bergen and Magic Hotel Xhibition!

Dear Marina and other guests wondering about parking facilities in the city center,
In Bergen city (in the down-town) it is very complicated with parking - either drop-off stop or forbidden or short-time at payment basis. It is normal for Norway. Still if you need to park your car over night there is 3 options relatively close to the hotel:
1. ByGarasjen - multi storied parking house at the buss-terminal which is just 3 min drive from the hotel and then 5 min walking back - easy - you just walk alongside the light rail and get back to the City Park and then to the rignt and to the shopping mall Xhibition. Daily rate - 150 kr. Per hour - 24 kr.
2. Kloster Garasjen (Coventry Garage) - underground parking house, a bit difficult to find a way to but if you have a GPS it will be way much easier - Vestre Murallmenningen 14, 5011 Bergen. 5 minutes to drive and 10 min to walk back. While driving there / getting back walking you will have a chance of seeing the down town and walk through the city's largest square - Torgalmenningen (=Market place) with fascinating monument to generations of Norwegian seamen all the way from the viking times and up to modernity (North-Easten side). Plus the Blue stone (South-Western side) - meeting spot for locals (a block made of rare natural blue stone called Brazilian sodaite). And a view to St. Jonas Church - red church on the hill.
Daily rate - 200 kr. Per hour - 36 kr. Evening/night hours 19.00-7.00 - 18 kr / hour.
Both mentioned above you can google.
3. ROSENKRANTZ P-HOUSE. In the heart of the city, just next to the gem of Bergen - BRYGGEN. The address is Rosenkrantzgt. 12, 5003 BERGEN. And the daily rate is accordingly - 250 kr. 3 min driving time, 5 min walking - through the harbor and Fish market.
As for a short time parking (2 hours) - you can find a tiny parking lot next to the central Police office - a high light grey building "POLITI". The streets name is Domkirkegate. But the parkomates there of old type and accept only Norwegian coins.
Good luck!
:)
