Guests are treated to the very best of Nordic design and local produce, and the vibrant lobby is a popular haunt for both locals and visitors. The hotel is located a stone’s throw from Bergen railway station, and both the airport bus and city light-rail stop nearby.

Detailed Reviews
Directly across from the train station, which is very handy if you are catching a train in from elsewhere or needing to access the airport. Rooms are very modern and comfortable, with only a slight bit of noise coming from foot traffic on the outside footpath that was level with our rooms window. Reception were wonderful and allowed us to check in early after arriving on the overnight train from Oslo. Very easy to walk to shops and attractions around Bergen from the hotel. Breakfast was included and had a good selection of available foods and even gluten free and lactose free options.

In all intents and purposes, the Zander K Hotel in Bergen is pretty much perfect.
It's ideally situated, a literal three minute walk from the main train station and the Bynanen station called "Nonneseter". Using the light rail, you can be at the hotel in around 30 or so minutes from Bergen airport.
Zander K is close to the action. The entire time I stayed there, I don't think I ever walked more than ten or so minutes to anything I wanted to see. Bryggen and the funicular to the top of Mount Floyen were in easy walking distance.
The hotel itself is wonderfully modern. It comes with everything you need and the decor is up to date and gloriously funky! The beds are comfortable and the rooms are small but that is definitely not a bad thing. The showers are great and the toiletries provided were really rather nice. The only bad thing (and it's not even that bad!) was a lack of space to properly store a suitcase. The hotel is very quiet, despite being situated across from the main train terminus. There is an area where taxis gather of a weekend evening so if you need one, you'll get one.
The breakfast was also phenomenal. It has everything anyone is ever going to need. They have cereals and juices, a wide variety of bread, eggs in lots of different ways, bacon, sausages and everything in between. Rest assured, you'll definitely find something you'll love. I also was very impressed that the hotel has a "gluten free" section set aside for any guests with a wheat allergy. A very nice touch!
The staff were knowledgeable and friendly and nothing seemed like too much trouble. The receptionist on duty (I'm sorry I didn't get your name!) was very helpful and even printed out my boarding pass for me. Thank you so much!
In short, the hotel is clean, modern, comfortable, ideally placed and the food was very very good. They have sparkling water on tap, it blew my mind!
The only "bad" thing I experienced was that the elevators were VERY slow. I'm talking a good three or four minutes to arrive but then again, I stayed on the top floor so maybe that was the issue? It's barely worth mentioning because the hotel's character eclipsed that minor annoyance.
If I'm ever back in Bergen again, the Zander K Hotel will definitely receive my business again!

Dear guest, it took a while for us to reply your review, but I hope this message finds you safe and sound during this unusual pandemic time. We are really happy to know that you enjoyed your stay in our hotel while you were in Bergen. Thank you for liking our breakfast, location, staff and room. I am more sure if the elevator goes faster now, but if you ever come back to Bergen to Zander K again, everything else will be as brilliant as it used to be. We hope to see you again ! Take care!

This hotel is located close to the train station, a shopping center, the Christmas Market and easy walking distance to the Unesco sites. I found the book about the Zander hotel group very interesting, especially the bit about Bergen and that they receive up to 266 days of rain in a year. Therefore, come prepared.
Breakfast was great and dinner very good as well, despite the price being on the high side for us South Africans. However, once you experience more of Norway, you will realise the prices are in line with other restaurants. Norway is expensive, therefore make sure you budget for this.
Back to Zander K, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We also managed to leave our luggage at the hotel the day we checked out until our transfer to the boat late afternoon. Despite there not being coffee/tea in the rooms, you are welcome to help yourself to this in the lobby anytime during the day.
I do recommend this hotel. Just note that there is not much closest space, so a long stay in the hotel is not recommended.

A cool artsy interior at the reception. There was a good selection of items for breakfast, which is also the place for lunch and dinner. They have a policy whereby rooms are not cleaned every single night if the stay is a short one, however you will still be able to request clean towels, toilet paper etc. It is not located close to the coloured houses by the sea, there is approx a 15 minute walk but i still think it was Very well located as it is close to the light rail stop, bus stop and also the train station. There is also the Remi 1000 grocery store 5 minutes away on foot.

Bright and large rooms with all amenities. I am glad i was quarantined at the Zander K since the location is very central so you chould go for a walk in nearby parks. The food was very good and large varietety of meals during my stay. Staff were trained very well and chould give information in regards to the current situation easly. All common areas were cleaned frequently but was not noisy under and circumstances. Before the pandemic I had only dined at the hotel's restaurant and the food is brilliant and affordable.

Stayed in this hotel either side of a 12 day Hurtigruten Coastal Express cruise, having been moved from our original booking at its nearby sister hotel, the Grand Hotel Terminus, which was closed because of Covid. Located within 150m of Nonneseter stop on the Light Railway (thereby providing cheap, easy access to the airport), at the side of the Central Railway station and within a few hundred metres of the city centre and Bryggen, the hotel was ideally placed while a nearby taxi rank provided easy transport to the Hurtigruten terminal.
All staff were helpful and courteous, the rooms were comfortable (although outwardly opening doors on the bedrooms was slightly disconcerting) and breakfast offered a very good selection of food. As a consequence of restrictions on the sale of alcohol, we did not use either the bar or restaurant facility and neither did we explore the gym. The inability to comment on those facilities has restricted the rating to 4* but I would not hesitate to book again for any future trip to Bergen.

If you’re not part of a group, just avoid this hotel. It feels more like the hall of a train station with groups coming in and out. It is very expensive (230 eur for standard room) and does not offer the quality and service you would expect for this price. Obviously they are trying to save costs on the back of their clients. Minimum amenities in the bathroom ( just soap and towels), even trying to save on toilet papers ! No room cleaning unless you request it and when asked for it late afternoon you get blamed for not having requested it the day before. TV not working. Shelf dangerously positioned on the corner of a wall on the way to the bathroom. No safety box etc…Food in the restaurant is average. Only two positive things: comfortable beds and convenient location next to train station.

We reserved this hotel because of its proximity to the train station in Bergen. It was also very convenient to the downtown area. Just a few minutes walk. The breakfast was included with our room and it was very good with many food selections. The room itself was a little disappointing. The bathroom was nice, but I thought the rest of the room was very small. The furnishings were very spare and cheap looking, and the unfinished, rusty looking concrete ceiling was very unappealing. The hotel seems to take great pride in the room decor, but I can't say that I was impressed. But I would recommend the hotel for the breakfast and the location.

Dear guest, thank you for recommending us since we have good breakfast and excellent location. We are sorry that our design is not of your taste. Our hotel has a minimalist and futurist Nordic style, which is enjoyed by many of our guests, but we respect the fact that this is not for everyone. We will then recommend some of our family hotels, such as Bergen Børs or Terminus hotel (right next to us). We are sure one of our family hotels will be the right one for you :) We wish you a wonderful winter 2020 in good health and great happiness :) Best regards, Yiyi, 1st receptionist, Zander K Hotel.

+1
You are immediately welcomed by the reception team who are all well mannered and describe all the hotel can offer.
The restaurant is on level 1
Gym on level 2
Ironing rooms on levels 4 & 6
Food is very well prepared and served by equally well mannered staff.
Somewhat bizarrely the rooms have exposed concrete roofs which in my opinion detracts from all of the stylishly designed areas of the hotel.

Entering the lobby and the hotel's restaurant next to it, one feels a depressing atmosphere with the low light.
The rooms are quite small (just 3mx 4m with a narrow 1m corridor outside the ensuite bathroom) with almost zero-free space to store and open our luggage, with absolutely no closets to place the clothes (just an external hanger for hanging 4 garmets). Also there was only a tiny table next to one side of the bed to place the phones for charging.
After entering our room late in the afternoon of the next day of our stay, we noticed that the room wasn't cleaned, neither the towels were replaced. After making a complaint, the person to whom we requested new clean towels told us that the rooms are being cleaned once every 3 days due to the hotel's policy for "saving the environment", unless the customers request to have the rooms cleaned every day!
On the positive side, the mattreses were comfortable albeit with two single cuilts (which seems very odd for a double bed), very quiet, nice bathroom with heated floor and very friendly personnel eager to help.

Traditional Western European fair or Scandinavian food. The restaurant is on the ground floor and is a very informal open plan affair. To be honest we only used it for breakfast (very good) as there are so many restaurants in Bergen within very short walking distance. However I’m sure you’d find the food of high quality and the atmosphere relaxed.
Sorry, I do not know if there is one. But the City Centre is only 10 minutes walk. Am sure you will find one there.
Regards,
Ashok
sorry Gary, but I don't recall this details. am sure the front desk can help you. just drop them an email or call.
Dead easy walk from hotel to bus station and catch Flybussen, 20 mins journey 👍
