Situated in Vienna's Goldenes Quartier, overlooking Am Hof square, this beautiful Park Hyatt property occupies a 100-year-old listed building that formerly served as the headquarters of a Bank. The hotel is located within Vienna's First District and sits within the heart of the most exclusive shopping district in Vienna, just steps away from the celebrated fashion houses. Featuring 143 spacious guestrooms, including 42 suites, Park Hyatt Vienna's guestrooms are amongst the largest in the city, ranging in size from 35 sq m to 170 sq m, brilliantly combining contemporary style with local Viennese accents. Guests will discover rare and intimate experiences tailored to meet any individual preferences. Taking pride of place in what was once the cashier hall, The Bank Brasserie & Bar has the wow factor. There is super-stylish blue velvet seating, marble walls, gold statues and two open show kitchens in which chefs create fine dishes using produce from villages near Vienna. The wine list showcases both local vineyards and international wines. The Bank Brasserie is open for daily buffet breakfast, plus a daily changing Plat du Jour and à la carte lunch and dinner. On Sundays, there’s a special Wiener Gabelfrühstück, which translates as Vienna luncheon, where small bites and tasting dishes are served at brunch and lunch time for late-risers. The Bank Bar presents specially created premium cocktails, remembering the time of the former Bank, concentrating on the human senses and the gentlemen’s club atmosphere of the Living Room is perfect for post-dinner brandies. Accessible from the hotel lobby as well as through a separate entrance, the authentic coffeehouse, named Café Am Hof, is a modern venue with floor-to-ceiling windows that provide a charming view out onto the Bognergasse. Serving a grand selection of homemade pastries, featuring Viennese coffee specialties as well as little snacks, Café Am Hof is the place where long-time residents meet the city’s international guests. For relaxation, guests can retreat into the tranquil sanctuary of Arany Spa and indulge in a selection of exclusive body treatments and facials. Moreover, the hotel hosts an extensive hotel fitness centre and indoor swimming pool for exercise. There are gold leaf floor tiles on the 15-metre heated indoor pool in what was once the bank’s underground vault. You’ll find a full treatment menu in The Arany Spa, plus a sauna, steam room, gym, couples’ treatment room and vitality shower room. With 24-hour room service and concierge, multilingual staff, valet parking and limousine airport transfer and a VID (Very Important Dog) service, the hotel anticipates guests’ every whim. Best of all, some of Vienna’s must-see spots are right on the doorstep, including Hofburg Palace, St Stephen’s Cathedral, the ancient Am Hof square and the Golden Quartier, the city’s pedestrianised luxury shopping district.

The hotel is beautiful and very impressive. Our room was lovely and spotlessly clean. The hotel overall far exceeded our expectations. It is also perfectly located in the heart of the city centre so it is easy to walk everywhere. We were spoiled for choice when looking to book a hotel for our Vienna stay and I'm so glad we chose the Hyatt. We plan to return again later in the year and we will definitely book the Hyatt.

Hotel's Favourite
Third stay, all have been excellent, this one was as close to perfect as possible. An amazingly welcome from Deborah at check-in. Set the tone for the entire stay. Staff here are just a delight - professional and highly competent, while also incredibly warm and friendly. This is truly a rare combination, and reflective of superb training and management. Our Park Suite was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding. Setting in the Bank is spectacular and the variety and quality are absolutely top rank. We enjoyed excellent massages in the spa, also very fairly priced. Concierges were great, provided excellent restaurant recommendations and promptly secured all requested reservations (we particularly enjoyed Do&Co Stephansplatz). Would not consider staying anywhere else in Vienna.

We had a stay in Vienna immediately after the full lockdown was lifted, but during the interim transition period when there were still some restrictions. For that reason Park Hyatt Vienna was not operating normally and hotel occupancy was low. Despite the unusual circumstances, we had a great stay – this Park Hyatt is one of the better ones where we have stayed elsewhere in the world. Upon arrival we were delighted to find out that we were upgraded to the Ambassador Suite as Globalist guests. What a great gesture – I guess due to very low occupancy they simply used their judgment that it would not hurt to do a little extra for loyal guests. In terms of hardware quality, this Park Hyatt is hard to beat. Some hotels have a number of luxury features but leave other parts being much cheaper, but this suite was uniformly high quality. The bathroom was very spacious including the shower area which was oversized, there was marble throughout including the wall next to the bathtub, chandeliers in several rooms, nice hardwood floors in the bedroom and living room, upscale furniture including a leather-covered working desk and decent chair. As in most premium suites there was also a half bathroom near the entrance of the room which was convenient. The entrance lobby was quite impressive as well with the glass design on the floor which fit with the marble-top small table in front, not to mention that the floor was heated in that entrance lobby. All in all it is hard to find faults to this room, if there would be one it would be general darkness. First off in December it’s not very sunny in Vienna but the problem was made worse by the fact that windows were all part of a bay, away from the inner wall of the room so it blocked the limited sunlight coming in and made it necessary to keep the lights turned on during the day. The upside is that because of the design of the windows, people outdoors could not see us in our room. As the hotel was directly in front of one of the numerous Christmas markets in the city, we had a view of the festivities if we moved into the bays to take a look. The regular restaurant was closed and we were informed that we could have breakfast in an alternative venue instead, or simply room service. Because room service was so convenient, we did not even bother checking out their temporary location for breakfast – we ordered room service every day. We were able to order whatever we liked from the menu and all charges were waived as the Globalist breakfast benefit. On the day before departure I ordered in advance and I requested delivery at exactly 7am which they did on the dot. The quality of the food was excellent, particularly the truffle eggs which were delicious. One area of improvement would be for a longish stay I thought perhaps a bit more variety would have helped because many warm dishes were egg-related. Overall we had a comfortable stay and while we could not use the full set of facilities of the hotel due to covid, in the limited interactions we had with staff the service was excellent including help scheduling covid tests. I can highly recommend this hotel especially for Hyatt Globalists.
