Relaxation, the art of true living, an unmistakable sophistication – such is the spirit of the Belle Epoque which brings the Hotel Hermitage to life. A century later, the same spirit is still intact in the Eiffel Hall, the salons, the guest rooms, each with an individual, intimate atmosphere where discreet luxury joins with classic pleasures from times pasts.Overlooking the Mediterranean, the Hôtel Hermitage cultivates elegance at its highest level. Born with the 20th century, this historic palace imparts an intimate, relaxed atmosphere in which serenity is re-invented with each new day.

Situated at the heart of Monte Carlo and providing one of the best views of town, the hotel is the perfect place to stay in Monaco.

Hermitage hotel is heaven for architecture lovers with its elegant designs and posh Belle Epoque-style rooms. It is well worth staying there for its facilities: the beautiful courtyard, the restaurant and the luxurious spa. Located only 5-minutes walk from Monte Carlo Casino and 2.5 km from Larvotto Beach, makes the location unbeatable.

You don't hear anything when someone is in the bathroom; taking a shower, etc.
Great room with a balcony and a great view of the sea. The windows must be triple paned because it's utterly quiet. They vacuum the room everyday and the maids don't show up until noon (Yes, I was in bed till then). The corridor is like a castle corridor and you don't hear your neighbors. All the staff members are friendly and as they pass by, they greet you joyfully. I have never experienced this anywhere in the world. If you tip them, they act like as if you had given them gold..but they are very genuine and warm. I don't eat breakfast so I can't comment on that but my friends/family rave about it. I once ordered mint tea and it came out with fresh mint leaves... I was in Heaven. Cafe de Paris has these dumplings (traditional Monaco food) that were out of this world..

Its a beautiful property with a lot of history. The staff at reception and concierge are great and always ready with solutions with a smile.
However the door staff most of the times will ignore/not even offer to open the door even if you're with a kid in a stroller.

The housekeeping staff do a really good job, but they entered our room twice once at 9pm and once at 10pm when we were asleep. I think they were trying to make the room but it's a bit late for that I guess.

Restaurant staff is not so accomodating for young kids (toddler), generally we were never received with a smile or any accommodation for the yound ones (except occasional frowns)
Overall it's a great stay, however some misses as above which I hope they can improve. Not in our best stay experiences.

I am traveling more than 100 nights a year. We had a two nights company’s retreat in Monaco and I looked forward very much to stay in the Hermitage - where I had great expectations.

But I must say that from check in to check out it was a disappointment. First at check in at around 15.30h our rooms were not ready and many colleagues got theirs only at around 18.00h or later - which is kind of unacceptable for this price. Not even a welcome drink was offered to compensate this. There was only incompetent trainee staff at the reception.

The room was also a disappointment. Very small without a view and a terrible decoration with huge red roses on the wall. Definitely not something for a gentleman. The bathroom was smelling very strong mold. Also, the overall style of the bathroom is totally outdated. They still have ugly smelling plastic curtains in the shower. I complained several times about this but the problem was not solved. The command for the air conditioning was broken hence it was not possible to regulate the airco. I also mentioned this but it was not solved. When you call the reception or the housekeeping nobody picks up the phone.

Overall some of the staff was very nice and some others were extremely arrogant. Choice at breakfast was ok, nothing exceptional that would be on the level of top notch Paris or London hotels, but the staff was every slow and arrogant.

I stayed in several hotels in Monaco, but this one was really the worst experience.

I am staying the hotel for 7 nights, this morning we ordered a taxi with the hotel and we waited 1,5 hours ( from 6:40-8am ) and it still didn’t arrive ( can you imagine people who are in a rush in the morning ?)

The hotel staff are just saying ‘ it’s monaco , it’s like this on Sunday morning ‘ without offering further assistance .

Then one taxi came and they gave to to another person who came much later than us !

For me this is unacceptable, they are not trying their best to help , in fact they even justify their incapablility , I am truely disappointed at the conceige and customer service.

Also on top of that the decoration is very tacky and bad taste.. as well as poor breakfast choice ( lots of dishes we needed to add extras ) and quality , the buffet style and the close seating arrangement ( the tables are quite closed to each other ) is perfect for the covid 19 virus to spread ... I can see they didn’t really consider this issue ( they only put hand sanitizer everywhere , that’s the extent of it ) I don’t feel safe and comfortable here.

I am rating the hotel Hermitage based on location, room, facilities and staff.

Location: the location of the hotel is beautiful and very close to the shopping area and Casino, which we love (not as close as hotel due Paris though)

Room: while the room seems luxurious at first, it was a bit disappointing. First, the photo during booking showed an amazing terrace. Sadly we did not even have a balcony. I hope that they would include photos of the actual rooms and not the best rooms that they have, which are usually given to certain clients (I will mention the special treatment we noticed that some guests got later). The room needs an update / maintenance as the curtains did not operate with ease and always allowed light in the morning. Also, you would expect actual porcelain cups for the in-room coffee machine but they only had paper cups. I am guessing this is to speed up the cleaning of the rooms but this hotel takes pride in being the second most luxurious hotel in Monaco. The room was located in the far / old section of the hotel where we had to take an elevator and climb a stair to get to the lobby, which was a bit of an inconvenience with my sore ankle. Finally, and I know this is not big (but it does affect the brand) the slippers seemed really cheap and looked like something you would get at a 3 or 4 star hotel.

Facilities: we only used the pool and it is beautiful and warm. Unfortunately due to the location of our room, we had to walk through almost the entire hotel and through the lobby restaurant to access it.

Staff: overall, the staff were extremely nice and helpful. We did notice some special treatment to some guests when it comes to table reservation at the lobby restaurant (Limun) where the best tables are reserved (we were never told that we can reserve tables when we checked in) and we were always seated in the back area. We stood for a long time to check-in because the family in front of us were talking to 3 staff at the same to give them their keys. The bellmen were amazing. The breakfast staff were very tentative though the tended to clear tables quickly without waiting to see if we were coming back or not. Upon our departure, I asked for a new My Monte Carlo card and one of the staff at the reception printed the “Member” level card without checking my status, which is sliver; this was promptly corrected by another helpful member of the staff. I know this is not major but it did add to the overall experience.

The concierge staff are amazing and really held the brand of the hotel in high regards.

Now the big question, would we stay here again?? Sadly no as we previously had a phenomenal experience at the hotel de Paris and we will probably go back there on our next visit due to the service and luxurious rooms. I hope the Management at Hotel Hermitage take our comments in consideration for the sake of other guests.

I just wanted to thank all the staff at Hermitage Hotel for looking after us in this time of uncertainty.
We arrived on Friday but by Sunday morning everywhere had shut it’s doors.
To be honest it was no hardship, we are fortunate enough to go to Monaco frequently, so it was actually really nice to go for beautiful coastal walks in the sun and go back to our amazing hotel where room service was our only option, but wow.... who needs casinos, restaurants and bars when you have the most attentive staff looking after your every whim.
They even gave us an upgrade to a suite that would be the price of a small car!
Hermitage Hotel; Thank you for everything you did for me and my husband, especially when I’m sure you wanted to be at home looking after your families instead of looking after guests, not having to worry if today will be the day you may get a horrid virus.
You are an incredible hotel and have incredible staff who treat you as family, that’s why we had our wedding with you in August 2017, and have continued to come and stay with you ever since.
See you in June 🇲🇨 🙏

We arrived today about 2.50pm for check in. We knew 3pm was check in time but we were prepared to fill in time until then. However we were a little surprised when we were told it would be after 3pm and we would receive a call to let us know when it was ready. I asked if there was a rough estimate of time but the polite receptionist said she couldn’t really give a timeframe . So we went out for a look around and waited for a call. By 5pm we still hadn’t received a call so decided to head back anyway. When we arrived we found the room was ready.

It was a little bit disappointing as we are only here for one night and it has been a long standing wish of mine to stay at The Hermitage so to feel like we’d missed out on a couple of extra hours of being in a luxury room was a little disheartening.

However apart from that unexpected start I have to say the hotel is fabulous. It has that feel of being modern with a vintage feel and the little touches like arriving back later tonight to find slippers by our bed along with chocolates and also my nightdress being folded neatly on the bed too all add to the experience.

Unfortunately we can’t afford to stay here on a regular basis because even though we live in France this night was a treat that we saved up for but if ever we found ourselves flush we’d definitely return to the hotel.

This hotel is in a great location. The room was large, the bed was comfy. There was plenty of hot water. The staff making up the rooms were numerous, prompt, thorough and friendly. These are things I appreciate but could say about lots of decent hotels. I was expecting something more.

Yes the hotel has lots of molded ceilings and a bit designed by Albert Eiffel. But I’m not sure that alone merits the price tag.

Staff weren’t warm or accommodating, breakfast was a shambles with no vegan options - I literally got told abruptly after inquiring with several waiters that they could not accommodate a vegan. When I protested I was told they might be able to find me a carrot. Bizarre.. I didn’t take up the offer and instead left a hotel where my room was 1,650 euro a night and found an accommodating little cafe that made me avocado toast with a smile for the princely sum of 12 euros. I’m amazed the Hotel Hermitage can’t feed a vegan breakfast (and thinks I might want a carrot).

The hotel is vast and maze-like - so much so even staff sent me the wrong way to my room.

The pool is big but the loungers are almost in the water as there is no space for them around it. Staff are noisily watching videos on their phone under a sign saying to turn of your phone while I type this review.

Service makes a hotel memorable but this hotel seems to have forgotten to go the extra mile. I’m left wondering if anyone stays twice.
