The Aquamare Beach Hotel & Spa, nestled in an enviable location near the waterfront, is lauded for its spotless cleanliness and friendly staff. While the hotel's atmosphere charms guests with live music and classic decor, some visitors feel certain areas could benefit from modernization. The rooms, particularly those with sea views, are celebrated for their cleanliness but noted to be slightly outdated.
Guests appreciate the amenities but suggest updates, especially for the spa and pools. Opinions on value are mixed, with some services deemed overpriced.

We were allocated this hotel by Tui due to extensive road works near our original choice. Initially we were a little apprehensive as it is a 45 minute walk from the harbour area where we usually stay but the efficient bus service was so good we didn't really notice the distance. We were welcomed at reception and everything was explained re where various restaurants were within the hotel and times of opening, the swimming pool area, the bars etc. Our room, 615 on the 6th floor was everything we hoped it would be. Exceptionally clean and well presented overall with the most beautiful sea views ,the beds were very comfortable and although it was an adjoining room any noise from next door was minimal. The food at the hotel was very good, although I did not think the Barbecue night was worth the 25 euros as there was no steak which for a four star hotel, we would have thought this would have been offered. but that is a minor quibble. The staff and the manager are very efficient and friendly and we would most definitely return here.

First time in Cyprus and have had a lovely week. Anxious about the weather due to never visiting plus visiting in the middle of October! But was brilliant. 26/27 degrees each day (definitely still fabulous weather for sun worshipers) Slightly cool on an evening so a cardigan/jumper is recommended. We paid for a deluxe sea view room and was 100% worth it, with an unobstructed view of the pool, beach and viewed the sunsets each night, which were spectacular.
The rooms were neat and clean with coffee and tea facilities. There is room service but we did not use this. The beds were very comfy and towels were changed each day. You also do not need adaptors, with UK plug sockets.
The pool area was cleaned each morning. Although the pool is a bit cooler this time of year, it is a good size and the view of the sea from the loungers was great.
The beach: entering the sea it is a bit rocky and as such we would use the beach to the left of the hotel which is easier to get into and the waters are clearer.
Breakfast: there is something for everyone, with hot breakfast items, pastries, fresh fruit and yoghurt, as well as a selection of Meats, cheese and salad. You can choose to sit outside under the canopy and admire the pool and sea or sit inside.
I can't speak about the all inclusive option due to being bed and breakfast but we had several lunches in the bar area and the food was lovely. Items included salads, pizzas, grilled Meats and more. The prices are around 13-15 euros for a meal. And these matched meal costs in other near by restaurants.
There is a good selection of local and imported drinks. I would recommend a pint of Leon.
Restaurants are approximately a 6-7 minute walk, however I would recommend getting a bus (2.5 euro) or taxi (10 euro) to the harbour. With a greater selection of restaurants. I would also recommend visiting the Gourmet Taverna near to the harbour, the food and service is 10/10 (try the Halloumi, Moussaka and Kleftiko *chefs kiss*).
We did not venture far, with this holiday being a very chilled one for us but will certainly hire a car next time we return (driving is on the same side as the UK).
We tried the spa facilities, having a full body massage (80 euros) this was fabulous. Very professional service. A lady (apologies cannot recall her name) visits sunbathers during the day informing them of the spas services. She is not pushy and listens to what you have to say, taking pride in her job.
Must also bring attention to the bar staff, especially Marina. Great service, always with a smile and makes you laugh.
All in all a great holiday. Only one thing I would mention is the sun loungers which seem a bit dated when compared to the surrounding hotels. However, still comfy, unlike some of the plastic ones you can get elsewhere! I would certainly return to Cyprus to visit other areas on a lengthier stay.

This hotel was perfect in every way. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, the staff are so welcoming and helpful, from Vassilika on Reception to Maria in the outside bar and Anna in dining. As well as Mike and Andreas in the hotel bar. We loved the live music in the bar, often Greek themed, and the musicians are so talented. Food was fabulous - great choice and some nights themed into Greek, Italian and speciality grills and fish. Best home baked bread I've ever tasted and freshly made omelettes to order were delicious! Even the random few cats who frequented this hotel looked well cared for and were so adorable. Pool was nice and there were plenty of sunbeds to choose from in different areas - around the pool, grassy lawns and beach. We loved the coastal walk from the hotel which snaked around the beautiful bays into Paphos, around a 40 mins walk away. Our room was so spacious and the seaview was incredible and made all the difference for viewing the spectacular sunsets and a sunset viewing point is just a short walk away by a Santorini style little church. I would definitely recommend a sea view as the view out to the bay is stunning. We would definitely return to this hotel. The only negative was to maybe have a no smoking sign in the outside terrace dining area. Thankyou Aquamare for making our holiday so special.

Beautiful reception and rooms, booked an ocean view room for me and my daughter. There’s six floors and we were on the fifth floor; the view is beautiful. Shah the gentleman who works during the night is so helpful and great with kids. We ordered some food as we arrived too late to go out and when the delivery driver dropped our dessert, he gave my daughter a slice of cake which she loved. She was sad to not be able to say goodbye on the day of our departure.
We only opted for bed and breakfast so can’t speak for other times but the breakfast room is on the lower ground floor and is open between 7am - 10am. Quite a decent full english is on offer besides the sausages but that’s to be expected. We don’t go down early so we’re usually ready to head to the pool by 10:30am and we always managed to find some sun loungers somewhere. The beach is good enough but quite rocky in places in the sea, there’s a fifteen metre or so spot where you can bobble along. Might be worth purchasing some water/wading shoes.
As for nearby places, there’s a bus stop outside with frequent buses. The last stop is the harbour (great place to eat, but magnets and have some drinks in the evening) so you don’t need to worry about when to get off. We got a lot of taxis but they don’t use fare metres so you’ll be paying €10-15 minimum wherever you go. Aphrodite waterpark is a five minute walk from the hotel which is great for adults and kids alike. I’d definitely suggest checking out Divine Peak and Muse restaurants, both of which need you to book a reservation. You can use the gym for showering and changing on your last day if your flight is well after the noon checkout time for your room.

We enjoyed our stay at the Aquamare hotel and Spa in Paphos , Cyprus . The hotel is classed as 4 star . We thought the rooms we had were a little tired looking . I do believe that the hotel has refurbished some rooms on the sixth floor which looked better. The air conditioning was brilliant , which helped in the temperatures we were experiencing . There are some lovely areas to sit if you want a bit of peace and quiet . We were on a B & B tariff as we wanted to experience Paphos itself . Our one meal there was really tasty , with a large selection of food . Breakfast was substantial with a huge variety of food . My only real negative was sun loungers , there wasn’t enough … The hotels policy is that sun loungers were not to be reserved . This policy was not enforced , as guests were putting out their belongings the night before . On one occasion we watched a group of guests lay their towels on 14 beds poolside . The temperatures were about 33 degrees , you really needed a chair and parasol . I complained at reception and was told that they couldn’t lift the offending guest towels ? I pointed out that they were not enforcing their own policy . I felt that holiday reps need to get together and sort this matter out ! I must paise the staff at the Italian / Greek restaurant , the food was excellent but my star of the Aquamare would be Valentine , who was very knowledgeable, polite and an ambassador for the Aquamare … Valentine clearly loves what he does . Well done . Staff work very hard at the hotel , so well done .

We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay and appreciated the air conditioning, peaceful areas, and the variety of food at breakfast and dinner. We’re sorry to hear about the issues with the sun loungers. We understand how frustrating it can be when hotel policies aren’t enforced as expected. We have just returned from a 9 night break at the Aquamare Hotel & Spa. We had a lovely time - we had a seaview room on the 4th floor (non-smoking) which could benefit from an update but was cleaned everyday to a high standard with replacement towels & toiletries. The public areas are bright & modern. We were all inclusive which worked for us. There were themed nights for dinner but sometimes it felt the food was a bit repetative - all in all though it was good. The staff - restaurant, reception, cleaning, bar were really friendly. Marina & Anna stand out. They work together in the beach bar - always smiling & chatty. My husband had a massage in the spa - a bit expensive but good The negative is the outside space - the grass is in desperate need of replacing & the broken sunbeds need removing. This is not a good look especially when you look around at the other nearby hotels. That said, there were plenty of sunbeds to go round but this was September & not the middle of August. We would visit again.

In my opinion, this hotel does not deserve 4 stars. The fridge was always empty and for the first 2 days there was only 1 small bottle of water. When asked at reception, 1 small bottle of water should be enough for 2 people. From the 3rd day onwards there was no longer a bottle of water in the room, you had to buy it from the hotel bar. Hygiene items such as shower gel and shampoo were not refilled daily if there were none left. Some of the pillows were dirty and were swapped several times when the room was cleaned. Some of the hotel's beach towels were also stained and you could only hand them in every 2 days to get a new one. In addition, the telephone in the room did not work. The hotel restaurant closed at 9:30 p.m. every evening, which we thought was very early. Room service was only available until 9:30 p.m. We found the staff to be rather demotivated. They preferred to chat rather than greet us in a friendly manner and if you asked something, they answered in an annoyed manner. The hotel pool looks bigger in the pictures than it actually is.
For me it is definitely not a 4 star hotel and I would not recommend it. There are definitely better hotels in this price and hotel category in Paphos.

We booked aquamare as we seen the great reviews and it was directly next door to Ivi Mare adults only hotel where our friends were staying.
Upon arriving we were greeted by the lady on reception and only given one room key.
We had a beautiful sea view which we didn’t pay for which is always a great touch. We thought this would be the start of a fantastic holiday. Later in the evening when we got back from a meal we noticed that the lifts take a long time to travel just 6 floors and then that there was no TV working in the room as it had been damaged and the hotel hadn’t fixed it.
I later asked for another room key because we realised we couldn’t keep the A/C on whilst we were out of the room and since it was 30-35° we would expect to be able to return to a air conditioned room.
The next day the key that had been left in the room had been taken by housekeeping, leaving us with a scorching hot room and I had to keep asking for a second room key for the rest of the week and keep having it taken.
Breakfast was basic at best serving bacon covered in fat, tasteless sausages and a selection of pastries. The queue for the eggs was so bad it would block off the whole other section of food. We then noticed ants on the counter top next to where you got your juices and water. This completely put us off the breakfasts for the rest of the holiday.
Ants were also all over the pool bar seating area and around the pool. The pool itself is large however it was very overcrowded and sunbeds were scattered onto the grass which was more of a dirt patch.
Our balcony was never cleaned for our whole visit and the chairs were so flimsy that one of them snapped and collapsed leaving us with one chair.
On our final day we decided to get a meal at the pool bar. We ordered a cheese burger and specifically asked for no mayonnaise as one of us has severe allergies. The burger came doused in mayonnaise and we immediately turned it back only for it to come back with most of the mayo scrapped off. When we mentioned this to the waiter who wasn’t wearing a name tag unlike the rest of the servers he challenged us saying we didn’t say no mayonnaise in the first place. Absolutely oblivious to the fact that one of us could’ve had an anaphylactic shock. After a few minutes of arguing he agreed to not charge us for the burger but kept looking at us and being sarcastic for the whole duration of our meal.
We are just so happy that we had friends in the beautiful 5 star Ivi Mare hotel next door and spent most of our time and money there. Definitely not what we would expect from a supposed 4 star hotel.

Beautiful location and amazing views. This felt like a relaxed hotel where we felt comfortable. We found all the staff to be courteous and polite and keen to please.
Small beach right outside the hotel with additional hotel beds provided. Would recommend taking beach shoes for swimming as its very rocky, as most of this part of this part of the coastline is.
Food was excellent, plenty of choice and of good quality ( we were AI) Lunch served in the Kirke restaurant overlooking the pool and sea, which we preferred due to the outdoor eating area but the evening meal was served in the ground floor restaurant. Whilst the room was well set out and food presented beautifully, we would have liked the choice to eat outside on an evening too (the Kirke Restaurant was only open 2 nights for dinner rather than usual restaurant).
Italian night served on the Sunset terrace 2 nights per week (must be prebooked but included in AI) definitely worth doing and was a bit more of a restaurant experience.
The drinks were fine but drinks from the pool bar were served in disposable cups, even on an evening. Whilst I understand the reason for no glass round the pool, I think decent plastic glasses would have made it a nicer experience.
Rooms are a little tired but cleaned every day, toiletries provided with fridge and kettle provided (we had a standard room with a sea view) sea view definitely worth paying extra for.
Fabulous sunsets from the terrace, but pop just a little farther left along the beach and you can watch the sun go down which was gorgeous.
Communal areas and grounds are well kept. Having looked at some of the other bigger hotels where the sunbeds were in rows very close to each other we much preferred the layout of this hotel where beds were on natural shady areas in amongst the gardens and palm trees.
Entertainment is pretty low key and happens in the beach bar. There were some good musicians and mix of easy listening and traditional music which was OK for us. Not sure it would suit families with young children
There's a beautiful walkway right along the beach from the hotel to the harbour. But theres also local buses which are regular and cheap and there's a bus stop close to the hotel which takes you to the harbour too.
Beach towels are provided and can be changed as necessary. I had a massage in the spa which was amazing (negotiate your price, don't accept the first price offered) We had a late check out but you are able to use the gym changing rooms to shower and change.
All in all we had a wonderful stay and would definitely return.

Having stayed here two years ago I thought that all would be well. The rooms we had were lovely and easily accessible without requests. (June 2022)
I travelled with a group both times, but this specific booking was for myself and my nan who is in her 70's, prior to flying, I emailed the hotel directly to request a room that was mobility friendly, near my room and near a lift. The rooms we were given were rooms 115 and 119. The hallway leading to these rooms were vile, old carpet with year's worth of stains on them. I let my nan have the room with the double bed for ease however the shower was impossible for her to access alone, myself and my mum had to make sure we were with her each time she showered to ensure she could get in and out and not slip. Rubber mat was provided however the height of the bath was ridiculous and she wouldn't have been able to do it alone. My brother was in a newer room that had a walk in shower, so he requested the same for my nan but was told this wasn't possible as it was fully booked, he booked the same kind of room as I did on our booking. Mostly reception were unhelpful, to say the least. Saying that, the rooms were clean and tidy and the maids were great, with the signs you can put on the door for cleaning or not.
The hotel is in a great location and the staff in the pool bar work incredibly hard, always with a smile on their face, except for one older guy who was there the last time we stayed and looked like he would rather be anywhere else but working! Maja (cocktail party), marianna and one other guy were super friendly and would go out of their way to help! Micheal on the bar inside was as great as he was last time 😊
Sunbed wars ensued during the week but we always managed to find a decent space and there was 7 of us.
It's unfortunate that I would choose not to come here again due to the requests not being fulfilled on the rooms as this is a lovely hotel, it seems that singles are put wherever they may have room, regardless of need, at least update them a bit and replace the carpet!!
Also go to the spa for an Indian massage, you won't regret it!
