Just back from a week at this quirky hotel, we had an amazing time.
The hotel is very quirky, I don’t think there is an inch that isn’t decorated! It looks as good in real life as it does in the photos, some of the artwork is truly fantastic.
Yes, the hotel is very dated, but if you lived through the 80’s you will enjoy the flashbacks. The rooms could do with being updated, but the general areas should be kept exactly as they are.
The staff were great, all very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble.
Rooms were clean and had everything we needed, including a fridge and kettle. Bottled water was replaced every day, and fresh oranges were provided.
Bed was hard, but we slept well every night.
The hotel location couldn’t be better, right next to a new shopping centre, near a fantastic beach and within easy walking distance for the harbour and other attractions.
Paphos has had a hard time over the last few years, don’t stay at this hotel if you want To stay in a generic, characterless complex hotel, but if you prefer something a bit less ordinary then choose this hotel and support them to get back on their feet

Great place to stay albeit a little bit balmy with its decor but it’s fun!! A great central location, 10 minute walk to harbour. Lovely choice of hot and cold food for buffet breakfast. Beds a little hard for my liking and toaster needs replacing! Great staff too but we absolutely fell in love with this cat while here, she is just adorable. A bit skinny when we arrived but well fed when we left, she would even come into our room and lived a lot of fuss and cuddles on the bed. She’s a lovely clean cat, if you visit please love her and feed her, food us available and is very cheap from the 24hour supermarket opposite the hotel. Thank you ❤️

The hotel is done out in a Roman style, all the walls are painted with Roman style patterns and images. The attention to detail is excellent and it makes it very different to your normal hotel.
Hotel has a big foyer, restaurant with free breakfast and a nice pool area.
The room was big, en-suite and had a balcony overlooking the pool. They let me check in a few hours early for free.
Location was very good, opposite a shopping mall and 10/15 mins walk to the tomb of the kings and similar to paphos fort/waterfront in the other direction. Would absolutely stay again.
Only downsides are the TV only had 10 channels and only 1 in English, there was a stain on the bed cover and there are too many mirrors in the hotel.

This is the first hotel ever I've actually left. It was so terrible I can't understand why it has such good reviews. Yes, it is visually very beautiful and the location is great but that's about it. Everything else is bad. The bed is rock hard and impossible to sleep on. Not that you would sleep much anyway since you can hear every single word from the room next door and from the corridor. You can literally follow a conversation through the wall. The airconditioning is also quite noisy. A hotel room where you can't sleep is utterly useless.

The receptionist came to the room to see what we ment with our complaints about the bed. He looked really ill and sneezed many times without his mask covering his face at all, not even the mouth. He was basically wearing it on his neck for show. In our room! While sneezing. I hope for his sake we didn't get covid! I told him he should wear his mask in rooms and he just said he takes covid tests often. You can still spread it if you contracted it after your last test! And I don't exactly want any of your other viruses either...  I've never seen such ignorance and disregard of guest safety in a hotel.

Btw, there's no view from the balcony in standard rooms. At all. The trees block everything.

Don't book a room here. Just don't do it. It's ridiculous we needed to pay for the first night. THEY should pay US for compensating the time we now missed since we weren't able to sleep all night and missed some things we had planned because we were too tired. We will be asking our money back.

Tip: always ask to see your room before paying and try the bed!

The hotel looks unique from the outside, and has a quirky interior, however it needs investment. The beds were hard, and there wasn't sufficient wardrobe space for 2 people. The food was disappointing,, both breakfast and dinner, we stayed half board but only ate had dinner twice in the hotel, very little variety particularly for vegetarians.

The hotel is located a short walk from the harbour, so ideally located (aside from the noise from the road)and walking distance from many paphos attractions, and the staff were lovely.

We have just returned from a two night stay in this truly quirky but wonderful hotel. Our triple room was extremely spacious and very well equipped. We had tea making facilities, a tv, a hairdryer, free wi fi, extra duvets if needed. The room was decorated with huge murals of mythological people and creatures.
After checking in we asked if it were possible to have a couple of extra pillows. The charming lady at Reception said ‘ of course, no problem ‘ and duly presented us with 2 pillows.
All throughout the hotel we found the staff friendly and eager to help, they are all lovely!!
Breakfast was self service buffet style, hot and cold food in plentiful supply. As soon as anything was running low it was quickly replaced! I really couldn’t fault it.
We have had a lovely few days and would highly recommend that you visit as soon as possible.
Congratulations to everyone at the hotel, keep up the good work!

The hotel in itself is full of charm but the experience is far from that. The staff on reception are not helpful the hotel is very over priced. Myself and my wife travelled in on Saturday 21st got to the hotel after a five our fight, checked in and asked if there was any food on offer to be told no the kitchen closed at six pm if you go out you may find somewhere no recommendations or directions given taking into account that I have a disability so distance is an issue.

In the morning we got up for breakfast, this was a serve yourself breakfast but all the food was cold or Luke warm. I do not think it would pass food hygiene standards, I was due a delivery of a mobility scooter, so went to accept this we asked if there was a charging point for it only to be told there is a plug by your TV! imagine trying to get a mobility scooter into a small room, we tried getting into the room room but after looking at this, it would pose a fire risk as you would be falling over it to try and get out in the case of a fire alarm, luckily enough the man who delivered the scooter noticed a socket in the hallway which did not pose any threat to well being.

The prices in the hotel were extortionate we asked for two English teas only to be shown a selection of herbal teas we asked if we could have English Breakfast tea as they had it at breakfast only to be served two earl grey teas in a small cup barely half filled we asked for milk and were given steamed milk and then charged five euros, the beer was two euro forty for a small half pint bottle. In all our stay we could not see if the restaurant was open but by judging breakfast and the service by the staff was awful so we managed to go out there was not a lot local you had to travel to find places to eat apart from a small local bar around the corner called Bens Bar which had basic pub grub and great prices and the staff were wonderful.

If you are looking for an overpriced, and under rated vacation then by all means use the Roman Boutique (which it is far from in the name) Hotel. Me myself will give this a very wide berth, I scored one star as there is not the option to give minus. The whole hotel needs updating and staff trained, I only found one member of staff a young lady on the bar she was very nice and helpful but not long into the job so they may wear her down.

I was pleasantly surprised with this one of a kind hotel. To say this hotel is unique is an understatement. The hotel is embellished with Greek and Roman murals. Some are hard to explain to young children! LOL! The service is very good, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast is excellent. The location is ground zero for all endeavors. Since we had our one year old daughter with us, they were really considerate by bringing us a play pin and giving us a huge room for my family. I recommend this hotel highly.

I’ve just returned from Paphos and stayed at the Roman because when I looked it up on line it all looked very different than all other hotels on offer and the Roman doesn’t disappoint. I arrived quite late in the day and found the receptionist very helpful in giving me all the information I needed and asking questions. The hotels decor is amazing (I think a third of my holiday photos are of the hotel). My favourite spot was the pool and bar area which was beautiful you always have the choice of sunny and shaded areas, I always ate my meals by the pool too because it so lovely there no matter what time of day it is. I was bed and breakfast and always found the food fresh and wonderfully cooked, there was always a choice of beautiful fresh salads and cooked food. The staff was always so helpful, cheerful and always happy to help. I would definitely recommend this hotel as it has so many local amenities only 10 mins walk from the waterfront, local bars and shops on your doorstep and literally next door to an awesome World Heritage Site (the mosaics there are definitely unmissable). I really can’t wait to visit again.

We've been to this hotel twice already. It's certainly a Marmite hotel (you love it or hate it) but we only really need a bed, a roof and a bar for an evening drinkie.

So we booked our third stay for March, only to be messaged and told that due to court action, they were going to be closed down the day before we were due to arrive.

So disappointing.

I cannot find out why they've been closed down, but I do know the Mayor of Paphos has been ruling with a rod of iron recently (the shops along the beach have had all their awnings removed in the dead of night is an example) so perhaps its something to do with that.

We managed to book another hotel, but as we were so late booking it cost considerably more than we really wanted to pay. The hotel owners did offer a different hotel at no extra charge, but that hotel was not as good, and it was a lot further away from where we wanted to be.

Our hope is that they open again once they've dealt with whatever it is that shut them down as we liked the hotel a lot. However, they did use the words "irrevocably closed" so we're not holding our breath.

Three stars given as it's a medium rating. I have given it 4 stars in the past.

The pool isn't heated, and doesn't get alot of sun. The breakfast is buffet style, so there are things that don't contain gluten, but it's not specifically catered for, or labelled.
