Booked a 2 week stay with Jet2 at Hilltop Garden Apartments.
Less than £700 for 2 weeks self catering with flights, 20kg luggage and transfers.
Hilltop Gardens is a well presented small 3 star hotel / apartments. Very friendly management and staff nothing is too much trouble.
A nice clean pool not heated so cold at this time of year.
The apartment is roomy, open plan lounge / kitchen. Two sofa beds, 4 seat table, gas cooker, toaster, kettle, fridge, kitchen unit with cupboard with plenty of cutlery crockery and cooking utensils.
Cleaning fresh towels and bedding is regular over a 5 day period.
Twin beds with side cupboards wardrobe and dresser.
Over bath shower sink and toilet.
All clean freshly painted and in good condition.
There is a small but lovely beach with crystal clear water not far away a short walk down the road opposite the Lidl supermarket.
I hired a car via the internet while in Cyprus. It was provided by Sixt a little VW Up for just under £23 for a week.
Tip...take out excess insurance around £35 a year and then you dont have to pay all the extra insurance and you can take advantage of very cheap car hire offers during your holiday.
Just take care that all scratches etc are noted before you sign for the car.
Cyprus is right hand drive just like the uk with big speed bumps and the occasional radar device so stick to speed limits.
The car allowed us to visit all the key sights of interest with ease including a snow covered Mount Olympus ( Troodos) where we were snowed in for an hour waiting to follow the snow plough down the mounting.
Beware some sights like Adonis Bath may say suitable for all cars but the unmade roads are only for Jeeps and Quadl. Well worth a visit but a 6Km walk from the main road. The Blue Lagoon is a popular place on a nice sunny day but again a very long walk unless you visit by boat.
Admission prices to Castles and Historical sites is very reasonable and most offer a discount for seniors don't forget to ask.
If you don't fancy driving the bus is very cheap and there's a bus stop not far from Hilltop.
Incidentally the exchange rate at the Kings Mall was the best at 116 euros per £100.

We have just spent 2 weeks at this hotel.

The rooms are basic and kitchenette isn’t very practical as no worktop space but fridge was handy.

The rooms are clean although we found the beds hard and pillows flat.

We had towels changed every other day and rooms swept and beds made everyday except Fridays where we didn’t get anything.

The pool was big and relatively clean and the sun beds were spread out.

The staff were lovely and friendly.

The bus stop is a few minutes walk away, best route is through the gap by the pool, walk along the path to the road, turn right and you can get the bus just before Melania restaurant to Paphos and cross the road to the British School to get the bus to Coral Bay. We found it easier to get the bus here instead of outside Lidl.

We would definitely stay here again, as long as you don’t expect anything other than basic then you should have a great stay.

Stayed here last week of August, staff were really helpful and friendly and chatty. Stuck to all the Covid rules. Accommodation was very comfortable but basic, air conditioning 5 euros a day was an absolute necessity(in August). Beds were comfy, and sponges & fairy liquid supplied too for the kitchen and shampoos in bathrooms. Bar snacks and food were great (you must try the village salad- delish) reasonably priced too. It was a little quieter due to the situation but we all had a lovely stay here and would definitely return if going back to Paphos. Lidl within a 5 minute walk, really handy. 10 min bus dive to harbor 20 min drive to Coral Bay. Coral Bay is much quieter than the harbour but we preferred the restaurants there, great Mexican and Italian.
Our kids were 7 and 9 and thoroughly enjoyed their stay at Hilltop Gardens. Great views of the sunsets too from the balcony.

This place was a little bit out of the way. But all the staff were really really nice, very helpful. The pool was nice always plenty of sunbeds. The hotel was very clean, room cleaned and towels changed regularly. The beds were the best we have ever slept on in Greece.
Buses were €1.50 all the way to Coral Bay or down to the harbour, there's also a all day pass for 5 euros but ends at 9pm.
All beaches are public beaches in Cyprus and you can put your towels down anywhere.
There is a beautiful beach very close behind the Venus Beach Hotel which is right opposite Lidl on the main road.
The Grumpys bar near Lidll sold some lovely food and prices were good, happy hour 8pm to 10pm where the beer was only 2 euros.
The pub next to the hotel charged us €12.50 for 1 beer and a vodka and coke we now never went back.

We had a great holiday thanks to this hotel.

Firstly the staff are all lovely and couldn’t do enough for you. It is a little out the way but it is a nice walk into the main areas of an evening. We would usually get a cab back depending on where you was didn’t cost us no more than €5. The pool bar is reasonably priced and food is nice and the pool area is kept clean. It was my birthday when I was there and they got me a bottle of wine and a lovely cake. There is a beach about 5 minutes away and Lidl is about a 10min walk. We would definitely go back thank you for a lovely stay.

We stayed here on a Jet2 holiday. Luckily we are not in the need of luxury when travelling as we spend most of our holiday out of the apartment. It was basic. On arrival we found the shower head being held on by somebody's hair band, one of the lights didn't work, and the connection for the airconditioning was loose on the balcony door (this was to switch off air con if you went outside!!) Luckily we had booked a one bedroom apartment so we had plenty of space but the kitchen area with the utensils was dirty and before we cooked or used anything we had to wash it ourselves. It was like they were not expecting us at all. The faults should have been picked up by a cleaner and not by us reporting them to reception.

The last day we had a late flight and were told there were no rooms available to pay for or to keep on our room then the worst bit - we had to vacate at 10am!! We could book a shower room for 30 minutes for 2 of us but spent the rest of the night sat on a sun lounger waiting for a bus in the red hot August weather.

The staff were all Ukraine and very rude, in fact as we were wheeling our suitcase out of the room at 09.45am the cleaner barged past us into the room to start cleaning!

The location of these apartments is in a somewhat run down area, we noticed that the Holiday Reps from TUI stayed here so they must have lived there all summer (poor things).

The bus is only a few minutes walk and easy to get into the centre. There is also a LIDL just down the road to stock up on your supplies for the room like water etc as the shop at the apartment is VERY overpriced and limited stock.

You have to pay a deposit and pay in full for the air con on arrival, strange to pay a 20 euro deposit on something you can't actually remove from the room!

we are really sorry about it all, but as you knew your check out time before hand then if you wished to have your own room till you depart you could have booked with Jet2 for an extra night. If there are not any availability and there are arrivals coming in at 3.00 pm then we are sorry, but it is impossible to give late check outs. A shower room is for all persons who want to use it on their departure day not for a specific room. Our staff are NOT all UKRAINE, and NOT rude as far as we are told by others. We have Greeks, Rumanian, Bulgarian, Russian and Georgians. Did you see your rep about your problems? and if you had reported them, where they not seen to? Have a nice winter and a Merry Christmas!

Having read some very poor reviews we wondered had we come to the wrong accommodation for a three week stay. We booked a self catering appatrtment through Jet2 for a three qweek period in September 2021, Arriving past 11pm we found the manageress waiting for arrival, Booking in took all of 5 minutes and she took us to our apartment. We had requested an apartment with gfew stairs due to our ages and were pleased to have one on the ground floor. Saw little of the apartment until the following morning,
The apartment was spotless and was kept that way by our cleaning lady Kristiana over the three weeks. Towels were exchanged daily, with bed linen changed every two days. Beds were comfortable but not a double. Oue only down moment.
Apartment overlooked the pool which was a bonus with a small space with chairs outside the lounge. Reasonably well equipped for self catering purposes if only for breakfast and cups of coffee.
I totally disagree with each and every poor review on this apartment hotel and would have no problem spending future holidays at this resort

We stay at this small friendly Apartments complex when we visit relatives in Cyprus. Arriving late night this time the night desk put us ground floor which on request in the morning Andrea the owner moved to an upper room without any bother. The apartments are fairly basic but clean and they have everything that you need to self cater. It has a nice pool and reception area but best of all this complex is in a very nice quiet residential area on the edge of town and is only a 5 minute walk from Lidl (self catering!) We really like the relaxing vibe of this place. Andrea and her team of people are all very welcoming. The bus service in Paphos is clean cheap and very regular. You can catch it on the main road probably 15 minutes to the town and 25 to Coral Bay in the opposite direction. It’s not a 5* hotel….it’s not pretending to be one. But if you want a nice place to just chill in the sun for a week then we think it represents good value for money. We go Jet2 and they have been using this complex for a good few years so they must be confident in what it has to offer.

Need to sort out car park it's such a mess with debris and very untidy . Horrible to look at from a balcony the rooms unfortunately that look out to car park. The waste bin is always open and bottles left at bottom of car park. Lots of broken chairs and sunbeds just dumped at the bottom of car park.

We just got back from a week at the hill too. This hotel is quite a walk away from the harbour and central places but the bus is 1.50 euro to any stop, and they come so often it did not bother us whatsoever! The rooms are clean and fresh towels etc are provided often. The bar area is lovely, we met some lovely people and the staff I cannot say it enough they were extremely helpful, they work so hard, and they are ALL such lovely down to earth people from the cleaner to the bar staff! For the price what we paid, we was over the moon for our stay. It is basic but you get what you pay for. Mattress was a little uncomfortable but it’s not the worst I have stayed on. I hope the hill top keeps thriving over the years it really could become something even more special. Well done guys x
