After around 4 destination changes over the past 6 months due to Covid my partner and I settled on Cyprus around 2 weeks before we travelled. We got our COVID tests no problem and applied for the Cyprus flight pass which came back instantly!

Our flight landed in Paphos at around 11.30pm and by the time we got to the hotel it was 12.30am. Upon arrival we were greeted by 2 lovely members of staff and each group was checked in and shown to their room individually. We were also offered sandwiches and juice at this time as it was so late.

We had booked a swim up room to treat ourselves and wow it was such a treat! For starters the room was absolutely huge and the bathroom was too. The glass door led out to the private terrace area which had 2 sun beds, 4 chairs and a table. From this there was direct access into the pool which was a godsend given how hot it was!! The air conditioning in the room was probably the best I have ever had while abroad and was easy to control on a touchpad at the main door. The rooms were cleaned daily by the lovely housekeeping team who always had a friendly smile on their faces.

The food again was amazing, some of the best I’ve had from an all inclusive restaurant. Breakfast was fresh and full of variety everyday. Cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurts, pastries, cooked items etc! Also tea, coffee and juices too. Lunch was equally as good and there was table service for drinks from the lovely waiters/waitresses. Dinner as well was amazing with each night having a different theme. Our stand out favourite was the Asian night! All I can say for the puddings is wow. Sooo good.

The bar staff were so friendly and there was a good range of drinks available on the all inclusive package, more cocktails than I have seen at other hotels. Overall a massive thumbs up from us.

Pool area was kept clean and sun beds and tables were disinfected by the lovely lifeguards at regular intervals (special shout-out to Nancy we loved speaking to her and her 2 dogs and cats in the evenings.)

Hotel location is great and is a 10 minute mainly flat walk (at a snails pace) down to the sea front and harbour.

We had the most amazing week considering everything going on in this crazy world at the moment and cannot thank the hotel enough for this. We loved it so much that whilst sitting by the pool one day we booked to come back next year! Thanks again everyone at the Sofianna x x x

Stayed for a week in October. On arrival we were given a warm welcome and the reception explained everything to us. They even had made up sandwiches as we arrived fairly late. They let us know that the All Inclusive bar shut at midnight and so we would need to be quick to enjoy the last 30 mins of it. The only thing we weren’t told was that you could rent beach towels – another guest told us that you can pay 10 Euros deposit at reception and the spa will give you beach towels daily.

We booked a deluxe family room which was huge for the two of us, however this was the cheapest room available on booking. It was clean and everything was as you'd expect from a 4* hotel. There's a hairdryer built in to dressing table which seemed decent but we took our own.

It's been a while since we've done a 'sit round the pool' type holiday (10+ years) however I was surprised to see that the reserving of sunbeds is still a thing - but I guess us brits will be brits! There was still plenty available at 8am when we stuck our towels on some on the way to breakfast.

The animation team are great and keep you entertained with a variety of games and activities. The aqua zumba is entertaining even if just watching as the staff put in so much effort! Table tennis/archery/quizzes all great too. We never stayed in for the evening entertainment.

The food was excellent with a great variety. We only stayed in twice for the evening meal as we wanted to eat out to sample local cuisine and help out some of the local businesses which have undoubtedly struggled during the pandemic (I'd recommend The Windmill round the corner).

The location was great with bar street only a short walk away as well as the harbour and seafront.

The staff at the hotel were constantly great, particularly the bar staff. The guest relations manager was always present and introduced herself early on. She then ensured everyone was aware of new laws introduced in the country. There’s also a well-stocked shop with snacks, sun cream, basic medication, gifts, kids games, pool inflatables etc.

On check out, we were quoted 60 Euros to keep our room due to a late return flight. This seems a little steep. There is a baggage storage facility and there are some communal showers and changing rooms near the pool area which were clean and done the trick! The baggage room also had some very secure safety deposit boxes for 5 or 10 Euros depending on size which was great for handbags and expensive items.

All in all, a great stay and would definitely return and recommend!

Me and my partner booked a last minute holiday to Cyprus and stayed here mainly down to the reviews and the price, we were not dissapointed at all, everything was perfect, we arrived and were met by Greta the Manager who was very pleasant with everybody as we waited to check in, we checked in and she showed us directly to our room which was a lovely touch ( you won’t find that in many places ) she talked through everything we needed to know and was very hospitable, when we made our way down to dinner she again made a point to come over and check everything was ok with our room and even introduced some of her staff to us, the food during our stay was impeccable, so much variety and everything tasted fantastic, not only is the food great but the presentation is amazing, the staff continue to make sure everything is presented well throughout food service, again a lovely touch that I’m sure doesn’t go unnoticed with everyone, we had table service for drinks which was nice and the staff genuinely felt polite which you don’t get a lot when staying at a foreign hotel.

The rooms are lovely and modern and have a good sized balcony to sit out on, we stayed on the 3rd floor and had lovely views over the city and mountains, rooms are cleaned everyday with fresh towels and the cleaner we saw was very friendly and did a great job.

The pools are lovely and it’s nice to choose which pool to sit by, the pool bar is open the majority of the time and the bar staff are generous with the measures.

If your looking at the reviews for this hotel, book it, you won’t be dissapointed by anything.

Thankyou to all the staff for your hard work we had an amazing time.

Craig and Rebecca

There are many satisfied customers who have left amazing reviews and this is a credit to the hard working staff at the hotel.
The hotel communal areas are generally kept to a good clean standard and the rooms are well presented. WiFi was a bit temperamental depending on location within the hotel.
The food choices are typical for an all inclusive and well presented, edible but repetitive. Chefs are friendly and will accommodate special dietary requests.
Entertainment was limited and repetitive. There is a live act on a Sunday which is enjoyable but again quite predictable in terms of music being played.
Whilst in a central location, I do not consider the hotel to be in a great scenic location and was very shocked by the state of neighbouring buildings when exploring the area. There was limited outdoor space away from the pool areas. The pool areas are crowded with the number of sun loungers and I wonder if the small grass area could be used more creatively to offer an alternative outdoor space. Quite a few of the loungers are in need of repair as they were partially ripped and you have to be up early to reserve your spot if you are visiting in peak season!

Overall I was disappointed with the service from the management team. We felt like outcasts after raising a concern. When checking out on our last day, I raised the concern that our room had not been cleaned on the previous day nor had it been cleaned on the Sunday I was advised that they were a 4 star hotel not a 5 star hotel! All hotels I have stayed in regardless of star ratings have provided daily cleaning as a minimum. Currently I don’t think this hotel is operating at a 4 star level due to some amenities not being available as advertised such as A la Carte.

Rooms- be cautious when booking your room as this is where I made a huge error which cost me a fortune in paying for an upgrade! Read the room descriptions very carefully. I do not recommend the standard rooms for more than 2 people. The chair bed that is used in these rooms is only suitable for children younger than 10 years in my opinion. Some rooms have awful views and lack privacy on the balcony area.

Transfers: Don’t expect to be dropped outside the hotel if using a shared coach transfer. You get dumped at a crossroads a few hundred metres away from the hotel. Coaches cannot access the roads around the hotel.

Dear Guest, First of all thanks for making the effort to register at TripAdvisor in order to write your first ever review - at least with this new profile. Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry your experience didn’t match your expectations. We’re normally known for our exceptional attention to detail. Although we appreciate, value, and take seriously constructive feedback to continuously improve our services, we strongly believe that the purpose and intention of this specific review are mostly to harm our reputation rather than providing a true and accurate representation of your experience with us. Despite this, we will still make the effort to address all your points. You have booked a Twin inland view room for two adults and one teenager. The description on TUI website is very accurate stating that the specific room has two single beds and a chair bed, and the size of the specific room is 26m². The resort has various room types with an accurate description on TUI website, that are suitable for two adults and one teenager (even with separate bedrooms and sofa beds), but you specifically chose the smallest one based on your priorities. It also mentions that the resort is in the middle of the town with a view of either the neighboring buildings or the gardens. Upon booking, they also give you an option of booking the same room type with pool view if you prefer. Upon arrival, you decided that you did not want your son to share the same room with you and your husband, not because the chair bed was too small for him (which the room you originally booked stated very clearly and you admitted knowing about it). You insisted that you did not want the room you booked and wanted a larger one. We offered you the option of having another room type, much larger than the one you booked, but since it was 43m² (double the size of your original room) there will be an upgrading charge. We also minimized the difference to one-quarter of the price you would originally be paying if you booked the specific room type from the beginning. You agreed and even signed all relevant upgrading paperwork. You were then allocated to the Deluxe Family room (with pool view offered on top of that). If you visit the website you will be able to distinguish the difference in price between booking a Twin inland view room (your original booked room type) or a Deluxe Family pool view room. It is barely near the amount you paid for the 10 nights you spend in the resort. In relation to our hotel location, claiming we are located at a scenic location or by the beach would be a complete misrepresentation. As you correctly mention and clearly communicated from us is that we are based at a central location with easy access to the seafront area and the heart of the city center. Additionally, all these parameters are reflected in our pricing policy which has positioned us as a “value for money” property. With regards to some of the buildings located in the neighborhood we would like to inform you that these are not under our ownership and unfortunately, we cannot control their maintenance. We do our best however to ensure that our own premises are kept to the best standards meeting all safety requirements. Regarding the management team, they were with you from day one, they showed you at least six different rooms (we have them on the report you signed) until you find one of your likings. We never face our guests as “outcasts”, and as you also admitted at the beginning of your review, we have our amazing reviews to prove it. We all work as a team in our resort (staff and management) in order to provide our guests the best experience possible. With regards to your other comments: • Entertainment: This is a very subjective topic and not everyone can predict at the same levels. As a family resort, we always take into consideration our little friends and parents as well and their likes. • Food: we can let the reviews of other guests do the job here as we are confident the quality of our food is possibly our greater advantage compared to other All-inclusive Resorts. However, we can understand that each person has different taste buds and expectations. • A La Carte restaurant: As with some other of our facilities such as our indoor lobby bar, which we clearly communicate on our website, due to covid restrictions and Government guidelines, something that as you understand is outside of our control, this venue is not currently in operation. We are so looking forward, as with everyone else, for this crisis to end soon and be able to re-open our affected facilities and make them available to our guests. • Outdoor space: Apart from the beach volley course, internal garden area, pool bars & restaurant, lounge area we have a big grass area that is usually totally empty. Pool areas have enough sunbeds based on our occupancy rate each period in order to ensure that each and every guest can smoothly and easily find their place at any given time even the peak hours. • Although the last comment does not involve the resort, we feel responsible to comment on it in order for the guests reading the review not to be misled. The transfer busses will either drop you off or pick you up either at the resort’s entrance (depending on the size of the vehicle) or 100 meters away at the top of the street. You do not have to walk hundreds of meters. Thank you again for your feedback. Kind regards, The Management

Wow wow wow! What a fantastic week we have had. If we get the opportunity we will definitely be coming back.
Reading some of the recent reviews I find quite sad. Just barely coming out of a global pandemic I feel people expect a lot given the current circumstances and the hotel understandably is not at full capacity. For what we paid, we almost felt like we hadn’t paid enough! Also, the mention of types of guests who are staying there… not something that the hotel can control or should have to?
Coming through the airport was very straight forward, just make sure you have your passport and Cyprus flight pass at hand as soon as you get off the plane. Transfer was straight forward (you are dropped at the drop of the road as it is too narrow for the coach to get down. A quick 1 minute walk gets you to the hotel) Checked in swiftly to the hotel and taken up to our rooms. Room is lovely, spacious, all English plug sockets and a lovely view from our balcony (block 3 floor 2).
The food is just lovely. There is not a huge choice compared to some bigger hotels we have stayed in, but what is available is 10/10. On check in they asked about allergies etc and gave me a form to fill in as I am vegetarian. The choices for vegetarian were great everyday and always something to eat.
There is a small gift shop on site which has lots of essentials, drinks, ice cream etc. It’s very reasonably priced and the lady who works there is a gem. She looks after the cats who are around the hotel, they are very well cared for.
All the staff were lovely but a special thanks for Alyanna who works so hard at the bar and made the effort to chat with us everyday.
Room was cleaned everyday except Sunday, our sheets weren’t changed for 5 days but rang reception and requested them to be changed that day when our room was cleaned and they happily did this.
We also used the spa whilst there which was a lovely relaxing experience.
Hotel is in a GREAT location, couple minutes walk to shops, a 10 minute walk to the harbour (is quite a hill to get up and down), and a 10 minute walk to the Kings Avenue Mall. Just be aware, most shops require you to show the flight pass or vaccination status. Yes, the area surrounding the hotel isn’t the best looks wise, bur again, something I feel the hotel has no control over. Did not affect our holiday in any way.
The only feedback I would say is when checking in, it would be good to have a list of times restaurants are open and meal times. The hotel bedroom doors have to be slammed shut, as they are fire doors they are heavy which can be disturbing morning/night.
Overall, a lovely and relaxing stay. THANK YOU!

When we arrived the staff were very helpful, they showed us to our room and explained how to use the control system. The rooms are beautifully decorated and are always kept very clean as well as new towels everyday. The wardrobe was full of hangers and had so much storage!
The food was hit and miss, some days the food was amazing, however, the meat was usually dry so we stuck to pasta and veg most days, which was still very nice. There could have been more options for breakfast but everything provided was lovely.
We never had to rush for a sunbed as there was always plenty, the pool was always clean and the staff were excellent at maintaining a clean environment around the pool and bar.
The drinks menu was great,so many options and were all delicious.the only problem we had was with our key.It stopped working one of the days and took a day to solve, although, they were very helpful in the end.We also thought it was great that they provided masks at reception as well as hand sanitiser throughout the hotel.the staff all wore masks as well as constant cleaning of surfaces, which made us feel much more at ease.
Finally, the wifi was great all over the hotel grounds.
Overall, this has been a great holiday and would recommend to anyone wanting a get away, couples or families.

Just finished 2 weeks at the sofianna Hotel and Spa. My husband and I had a great 2 weeks here. We were checked in very quickly and were taken to our room. We have booked a swim up room and it was well worth the money. The room was spacious and immaculate. We had champagne there as well as a welcome treat which was good. Rooms cleaned daily by pleasant staff and all the doors are very well sound proofed so couldnt hear any noise from activities/ pool. Bar staff did well during busy time and had a good selection of drinks.
Obviously, covid has caused some things to change at the hotel, e.g, the snack bar was closed, the spa only had a few options available and the entertainment was limited but it was to be expected in the current circumstances. Both my husband and I got treatments in the spa and my word, they were fantastic. I highly recommend a visit if you stay here.
My only criticism is the food. Each night, they had different themes which was enjoyable and had a decent selection. Lunch had different choices but the second week we noticed it was the repeat of the week before. It just wasn't to my or my husband taste but the others in our group enjoyed it so I wouldnt think much of it.
I think i should mention just how fantastic hotel staff were especially during these unprecedented times. There was never anything that was too much trouble and they were so friendly. Honestly they all deserve some appreciation as I couldn't fault them.
I would happily stay here again.

My wife and I booked a 10 day holiday at the Sofianna Paphos. We had a very clean modern room overlooking the huge wrap around pool, it was a third floor room which gave views over the surrounding area. Great balcony, plenty of room with a pull out washing line, take some pegs!
The main buffet style restaurant was very clean with attentive staff who were very polite and friendly. A big shout out to Stelios the Executive Chef who runs a great service with excellent fresh food. There was plenty of choice and all made on site in there very clean kitchens. I had the privilege of going behind to see the kitchen when Stelios gave me a lesson on how to make a fantastic crisp bread that I had never seen before, fantastic, above and beyond!
Aleyna who is always smiling and the team of staff that serve your drinks at the outside bar by the pool also go above and beyond, they all work so hard and are so friendly and always have a smile for you.
I used the Gym when I was there, this facility is one of the best hotel gyms I have ever used, it’s brand new and again clean and modern, fantastic!
The hotel is situated in a great area, you are in town so everything is just a short walk to bars and restaurants also the harbour area.
A big thanks to Greta who is always available to help/ advise guests of any concerns/trips/car hire etc really good to have someone to go too for anything you need to enhance your stay.
I would advise getting a car while you are there, we hired a car from “Chris car hire” just a 2 min walk down the road. We hired a car for 4 days which worked out about 140 euros for the duration, easy and well worth it.
A great holiday, many thanks to all the hard working staff that made our stay really special. I would recommend the Hotel and I will return when next in Paphos.

Had a thoroughly enjoyable fortnight's holiday here. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Didn't see the TUI rep the whole time we were there, but we didn't need to.

The rooms were clean, and cleaned daily. The food was good, without being exceptional. The swim-up rooms are definitely worth the extra money, particularly in Covid times as it means you could go straight into your room from the pool and not use the communal toilets.

The staff all wore masks, although it wasn't a requirement for us staying in the hotel.

Only criticism is that the beer was served in either flimsy plastic half pint glasses, or paper cups, neither of which was a particularly enjoyable experience.

Thank you for being our guest! It is great to know that you have thoroughly enjoyed our cleanliness, food, the courteous service received from our efficient colleagues, our swim-up rooms, etc. Around the pools, it is prohibited by law to use glasses, so we have plastic or paper ones. We have just returned from a week at Sofianna. Our holiday was a total bargain so our expectations weren’t that high but we were so pleasantly surprised with everything Sofianna had to offer.

Room
We paid a bit extra to get a swim up room and thought this might be a novelty that would wear off after 5 minutes. It didn’t! If you can afford it then definitely book one of these rooms, we loved everything about it. There was some ants that appeared to live in one of the light switches as they came in and out from there but there wasn’t enough that it bothered us.

Food / Drink
The food was varied every day and the desserts were always amazing! I’d recommend the breakfast omelette which is made fresh for you. Deliciously cheesy and floofy. The restaurant staff clean away finished plates within seconds so there is never any mess. They will also get you drinks super quick and never let you sit with an empty glass for long. The pool bar staff are so friendly and the cocktails are delicious! Especially the mojitos.

Hotel staff
The customer liaison manager was super friendly & always floating around asking if you were ok. I can’t remember her name but you can’t miss her. She looks a million dollars and obviously has an endless number of fancy floral dresses to brighten up the hotel. We ended up having to attend hospital twice during our stay. Once on the last days so I could be signed off as fit to fly, we were there much longer than expected and we had to phone the hotel to extend our room by two hours which was no problem at no extra cost and the receptionists were just happy to know we were ok. Great service.

Local recommendations
Go on the wave dancer. It’s a fabulous boat trip! All inclusive with live music and very friendly staff.
Go to Oniro by the sea in Peyia for dinner one night. The sunset is stunning!
Go to the old town and explore the lovely bars & live music. Muse is also a lovely restaurant on way up to old town which overlooks paphos.

The only tiny negative we could mention would be the neighbouring dog which barks on repeat at siesta time from 5/6pm for a good hour or two. Totally understand though being dog owners that there isn’t much the hotel can do about this but I’m sure many people wanted to strangle this particular furry being. Take ear plugs 🤣

All in all a fabulous holiday and if we were to return to Cyprus, Sofianna will be top of the list!

Good evening, thank you for your message and for choosing our resort for your holiday. As our client mentioned above there is not a football pitch, but the children play football on the grassed area.
