I would recommend renting a car at the airport and driving. Parking is complementary at this hotel. Also, having a car will give you freedom to explore the rest of Reykjavik and other nearby sites. We also found it very easy to drive in Iceland.
I would also recommend getting a mobile SIM card or renting a mobile Mifi device at the airport and using it for directions. Just put in the hotel address into your phone, and follow directions using your favorite navigation app.
