Wheelchair-accessible, rehabilitation centre and hotel in the same building complex. Basic room with a mini fridge but no kettle nor coffee-making facilities. Breakfast quite good but most foods without salt (salt and pepper on every table, though), also a corner for gluten-free items. Wonderful walking paths and breathtaking views!!!
Gorgeous and amazing nature around. An oasis of silence, tranquility and appeasement. Forests and lakes breathe pristine purity. Walking as always in Finland gives a feeling of unity with nature. Finnish people love their own nature and carefully look after it, keep it for themselves and their descendants. The room was clean, carefully prepared and fashioned in Finnish style. There is linoleum on the floor. Finnish windows protect from external noise, but there was a garbage collection point under the windows of our room. On Sunday morning, workers rattled trash bins. Perhaps this was the following up how the Finnish people treat guests from a neighboring country, that is, with special love! The bed was amazing and my wife and I enjoyed resting and good sleeping the whole night! A receptionist was smiling during our check-in. I paid for the staying period in cash. Unfortunately SPA zone and water centre were out of service and the receptionist did not mentioned about it during the check-in! Absurd! Glanced to the phone I have noticed I have not got a notification about SPA closing period for my staying dates at 9 a.m. at the same day on Saturday. I did not noticed it because I was driving at that time. It was impossible to assess the quality of the spa zone as it was closed exactly for the days of our staying at the hotel. It was clean inside and pleasant as so as usually in Finnish hotels, but the feeling that I overpaid a lot more than I saw and I got did not leave me for all period of time. The price is much too high! However, this applies to all hotels in Finland. Breakfast was completely ordinary, the products were fresh, but nothing more. There was no variety. Bacon was crunchy like cookies. In my opinion there was a regime of austerity of the owners for the guests. My wife and I were totally upset the hospitality like this.…
My husband booked the room for us for 2 nights. He chose a superior room and the price was on an expensive end. When we arrived, the location was great, beautiful landscape, peaceful area. But the sign says “kuntoutuskeskus”(rehabilitation center) so we were amused to check purselves in to a rehab. The receptionist was doing her job suitably fine, but there was no sense of welcoming or service mind approach. Most of the people who came in July are on vacation, but there was no vacation feeling to it. The hotel building has its long history. The jugend building is very nice and the rooms are renovated to be more modern. Comfortable bed, equipped with minibar and nice furniture. Breakfast was poor. The hotel restaurant offers food til late but we did not feel like dining there in a clse space with out-dated interior(not old and classic atmosphere). In a nice warm summer evening, it would be nice to be out in the terrace by the lake. They have a swimming pool(spa department) with steam room snd sauna. Everything worked fine but it really needs to be updated to a more modern days. Feeling so old and out-dated. The hotel’s site promote their beauty treatment service(facial treatment, foot treatment, massage, hair salon etc), we were planning for a foot treatment. We asked a receptionist, who answered coldly. She said “you need to book in advance!” (Oh yes, we arrived yesterday and had no idea, that is why we ask) and then we were told that the cosmetologist is not there. It is understAndable but it was a pity that there was no sense of service mind oriented/welcoming to the guests. At least this is what I felt, considering we paid for over 300€ for this visit, we used all the services elsewhere than in hotel facility. This hotel has s lot of potential, an old building with history, peaceful and beautiful location, but a lot of improvement is really needed.…
I was visiting with my husband in this hotel. I would consider it to be more close to hospital than Hotel. Rooms were very BIG and basic with hospital look and feel. Breakfast were very basic. Low value for money.
