We stayed here as two adults and one teenager in a Double Room with Balcony. The room was spacious and finished to a high standard for a hotel of its age and class. Views were spectacular! The free coffee and pastries at reception were a thoughtful and welcome offer for a Fika as and when it was needed. Staff at reception were incredibly accommodating and so helpful on multiple occasions. I can’t rate them highly enough. The meal I had in the Bistro was top-notch, really delicious and creative with a focus on local produce. I am giving four stars rather than five as breakfast was a bit underwhelming and the early closure of the bar at 11 pm without warning seemed excessive - I really wanted another bottle of that lovely cider!

Really great staff in this hotel. Was travelling with bicycle and luggage moved by company between hotels. When I arrived without asking them the staff directed me to where my luggage had arrived and where to store the bicycle. No where else on my trip did anyone anticipate what I was going to need before I even asked. Room lovely with good shower, nice view and central location. Breakfast good too.

Had two rooms, one double and one single. Very small rooms with uncomfortable beds. Got parking permit from front desk but no parking space left when we came back same evening. Rude head waiter at Harry´s, in house restaurant when asking for table. Hotel staff very nice and clean rooms.

A grand hotel was usually the no 1 hotel in many smaller Swedish cities and this most likely still is. Very pleasant and accommodating staff at the reception, quick check in and my room was in the annex, where you had the extra bonus of having a dinner included in the price. The room was small but had everything you needed, coffee and tea set, flat screen TV, a safe ( which didn't work at first ) bathroom with soap and schampo dispensers on the wall. The bed was worn with soft springs on the side but clean and serviced daily. Had an issue with guests making noice on the next floor up, not the best sound proofing. Mentioning this at the reception I could change to a better and higher up room in the building The breakfast in the main building was excellent with everything hot and could that you possibly would like, including the famous local smoked salmon. The dinner was adequate, not a gourmet meal, but fully acceptable. During the visit the local river was flooding, didn't reach the hotel but the river walk was closed. A gym and sauna is available for guests

Nice place, great rooms with seaview. Very good food and good wines. The breakfast buffet is perfect. Waffles, bread, ginger shot, eggs and bacon etc. Nice staff. Right next to the sea. Reasonable prices. Good bed at the room and with minibar. We had ivory experience and it was fine.

Business was the reason for my trip to Falkenberg. The Grand was recommended by my business partner, so I booked a single room. Very pleasant and accurate contact during the booking process. On arrival very friendly staff at the reception who smoothly answered to my questions about dinner locations, breakfast, training facilities and the place I would give a lecture the next day. The room I got was much bigger than expected. Later it became clear I got an upgrade, which was very much appreciated, and I did thank the reception staff twice. The room had a very comfortable bed, a big screen TV, sitting area, closet and a wonderful view. I did a 20 minutes work out at the gym, small but with enough material to get rid of the 5 hours train ride feeling. There is a sauna as well. After a shower in the clean, very spacious and well equipped bathroom, I had dinner at Harrys. It is the restaurant “next door” and you do not need a coat to go there. The menu has something to offer for everybody. They serve breakfast here as well. A buffet whit cold and warm dishes and enough other stuff you won’t eat at home on a normal morning. It was a great stay. Mainly because of the very friendly staff. They understand hostmanship is more than just delivering a service. The only thing the grand Hotel could work on is sustainability. Simple things such as a towel program, waste bins, local products at the breakfast buffet and no plastic cups in the bathroom. By just telling me as a guest about their sustainability responsibility and policy, would make a big difference. Next time I’m in the area I will most certainly book The Grand Hotel Falkenberg again. Thanks for a great stay!

I loved this hotel and felt it gave me a great value. The bed was very comfortable and soft enough, room was immaculate, the view (I had the cheapest single) was surprisingly nice overlooking tile rooftops, the location was absolutely central and on the river / walking trails, the breakfast included incredible; bacon, eggs, Swedish pancakes (plattas), Salmon, and assortment of jams and breads, cereals, muesli, fruit, dried fruit etc was included in my room. The day staff was very great but the night staff when I checked in (after 10pm) , although very polite, didn't speak hardly a lick of english which was a bit difficult; the parking was full and I had to park down on along the river (a block away) which I didn't mind except that it was confusing - there was a "permit c only" parking sign and some military time range for no parking, where I parked with no English to relay that it was actually fine on weekends (which I found out when I asked the regular staff in the morning). A map on the wall to show guests the local couple of streets and where it was OK to drive and park could be helpful - esp given the one way and dead end streets where you are not sure you half the time where you can go or when you are on a sidewalk!). Still I felt like this hotel made up for these check in confusions over the stay. Unrelated to the hotel, I found the town a bit sleepy and not sure I would visit it if I didn't have family there, and I did have the best Panang Thai Curry I have ever tasted a block away for $10 (at a hole in the wall place called 'Royal Thai'). Also did not try them, but the hotel appears to serve cocktails and the ambiance of the bar and restaurant is quite nice.

Another business trip so just overnight stay. With Harrys on site, very convenient. Great breakfast, rooms was just single bed and a bit small and basic. Plenty though to get your head down. Shame no tea/coffee facilities.
