From the great festive reception welcome to the generous checkout gesture of enjoying lunch and drinks after checkout times, everything in between was nothing short of perfect.

We stayed in villa 408, its location was perfect, straight out on the ocean and felt like it was our own private island. The villa was spotless clean, looks modern and in a very good condition. It was perfectly cleaned everyday by Malek who was always making sure we had everything we needed and constantly asking if there's more he can do. Shout out to Malek's artistic talents with the rose petals decorations, he did an amazing job with both our bed and bathtub for our anniversary.

Another shout out to our lovely host Mazey, he was the best host one could wish for. He is super attentive and responsive, would answer all our requests and would help us change plans to accomodate our needs.

Another huge plus is the free 45 minute massage included in the Varu plan that was definitely needed after a LONG flight to relieve all those tense muscles. Artini was perfect, she was so calm and soothing and made me feel a lot more relaxed after finishing the session.

As for the food it was delicious everywhere. The buffet at Lime& Chili was of excellent quality& variety. It was very tasty, well spiced and definitely made with love. All meals were accompanied by friendly and very hard working servers/chef. As for restaurants, we had 2 meals included in the Varu plan and they were exceptional. Charcoal was lovely with a beautiful piece of steak and Nu offered premium seafood quality with an amazing view!

Snorkeling trips were great as well and providing masks&fins during the stay was another plus. Actually snorkeling by the villa itself was surprisingly amazing with great sealife just down there at your foot.

Thank you Varu team for making this anniversary unforgettable! We will always remember our time here and will definitely be back.

Varu is an absolutely beautiful resort with exemplary service from all staff. Buffet has a really tasty range of food to suit all tastes. Dishes are labelled with a key to indicate if it contains eg egg, dairy, nuts, vegetarian etc which is really helpful. We did ask about one dish as not sure what one of the key codes meant and although I could not eat this dish there were so many more which were suitable. However, that wasn’t good enough for the chefs who made a nut free version for me. They were so keen to ensure everyone had a wonderful dining experience and brought us extra treats over the following days. One chef, Ishan, particularly looked after us.

The resort did not advertise regarding accessibility and as a wheelchair user I was a little concerned but as I can walk short distances we felt we would manage. I think Varu is missing a trick! It was difficult getting on and off the boat for transfer but staff were hugely helpful and made it work. Once on the island getting around was easy. The sandy paths are firm and caused no problem for my wheelchair. The resort has golf buggies which can be called by guests if needed and staff will come to transport you. We ate at the main buffet and 2 of the other restaurants all of which had ramps to allow easy access. Similarly with the bar. I did not try entering the sea from our room via the steps from the decking as these would not have been practical. My husband struggled with them and around our jetty I only saw a couple of people use them. There are a number of beach areas though to allow snorkelling in quite shallow water and I was able to walk the short distance into the sea.

Staff were amazing throughout and always keen to help but also very respectful. Restaurant staff made sure drinks were topped up and plates cleared quickly. Dishes were quickly topped up on the buffet and always 2 or 3 chefs preparing dishes in service. Bar staff again were attentive and did not leave us with an empty glass for more than a couple of minutes. Cleaning staff virtually always managed to complete duties while we were out for meals and left the bed and bath decorated for us on a number of days.

I’d thoroughly recommend being there on Valentine’s Day. It was a real event with roses for all the ladies, champagne, heart shaped foods, decorations, decorations on bed and chocolates in the room.

Wonderful holiday in paradise! 🏝️🤿🐠😍
In our case, we can say that choosing Varu as a hotel has been the best of the choices, where we have been a week disconnected (wanting, because wifi is practically all over the island), relaxed between the pool and the multiple water activities we did with the friendly boys of Koama (highlighting the Snorkeling excursions each morning with them to the reef).
Also highlight Barsha, for the candidness, the peace she conveys with her leisurely and exquisite treatment every time she attended us in the dining room so that we did not lack anything; Balal and his great work every day when he left us the spotless room (not forgetting the special decoration that prepared us by surprise for our anniversary), and of course, special mention for Bella ☺️, the best hostess we could have throughout the stay, with her suggestions to organize the activities and gastronomic experiences offered by the hotel, so that each day was different, special and memorable.

In addition, the personalized transfer service of the airport, with a guide that has the info of the plane in which you come and in which you leave, making the journey in closed boats, with air conditioning, may seem an unimportant detail, but when the tide is bitten, it is priceless!

We recommend Varu 100% to all those people who consider Maldives as a disconnection destination and wish to live a unique experience with their villas on the water!

We were in Varu on a wedding trip.
From the compliments from the hotel we received dinner in the common hon, but at a separate table decorated with hearts) Overall the accommodation is good, the villas are decent not killed, everything is in good condition, the air conditioning is good, always fresh. Room service, bed-making in the morning, bedtime preparation in the evening. The villa has a minibar that was replenished daily, as well as a wine cabinet with white and red wine (it would be ideal if you included more sparkling )). Cosmetics (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion) from Elemis. Shower caps, toothbrushes are all right, but cotton discs are missing, I understand that makeup on the island is not needed, but at least for tonics and lotions they are needed. Also the hotel provides bathrobes, raincoats, spanking!!! (the only one for men with a leg size larger than 39 they will be small)) and a beach bag, which is very convenient)
The hotel has three restaurants (fish, meat and Maldives cuisine (which impressed the most), as well as a buffet with not bad cuisine, quite varied, we were not hungry. Also a lovely bar where we hung out most of the time, in the morning by the ocean on a sun lounger, and after sunset with cocktails.
On the whole, the vacation went great, magical weather, good location, quite attentive staff.
Of the cons, what is directly very disliked is primarily waiting for the transfer at the "stinking station" in the true sense of the word, after a 9-hour flight of comfort you want a little more, well if there is no lounge then I believe it is not worth stressing guests with the expectation of other guests who arrive an hour apart. I didn't feel very good about it.
The second thing I didn't think about before the trip, but realized during the trip was the beach ... in our hotel is not a typical Maldivian beach unfortunately, the central one on the bar was about 100-200 meters more less coral cleaned. The beach by our villa was just ugly, even after the relocation (to the neighbouring villa) the situation did not change. The beach is 30 meters long, strewn with small pieces of coral, entering the water comfortably is simply impossible, to be honest on the first day it just killed me, I got very upset and in the next happy more carefully will choose the hotel ))
But in general, we didn't want to tarnish our vacation, so we enjoyed sun, ocean, warmth and rest.

Waterville 2 nights + Waterwallville 2 nights.
The distance between water villas next door is fine, but you can see the other villas and villas on the other side. The distance is not close, so I don't care much about privacy. Just considering this, it seems resonable that you can do all inclusive + excursions at this price.
For all inclusive guests, three meals are offered at a buffet restaurant called Lima Anchili, and for more than four nights, two couscous restaurants, a 45-minute spa massage, a sunflower fishing and a sunflower/separated cruise are offered for free. The restaurant is delicious, and a traditional Maldivian restaurant called KAGEE seems to suit the Korean taste. We came here and ate the best (last 3 photos)
Snorkeling on a boat is free twice a day, similar to yoga and PT.
Two times a day cleaning is quick, neat and quiet.

Bella, the butler in charge, was very friendly and very helpful. I wanted to recommend to others.

And not many Koreans. I saw two or three couples for four nights.

Make sure you pay VAT to the paid program and proceed. When you check out you may be embarrassed later on to higher prices than you think.

As experienced travellers this resort exceeded our expectations... by a lot!

From the booking, speedboat, welcome, hosting, facilities, water sports, fitness classes, the spa (i.e. massage), dining (whether buffet or the included a la cart options like the Nü restaurant), beaches, the amazing bar with a refreshing breaze and sunset beach views, the villas, even the staff that refresh the rooms and included daily restocking of the mini bar, each and every customer experience interaction was friendly, genuine, personal, professional, attentive without being intrusive or too much. The quality of the facilities, equipment, variety and quality of the food and beverage and interpersonal skills of the staff levels were impressive.
Even a small detail like an experience with the housekeeping staff who was flexible with refreshing the room according to our needs and communicated with the minibar replenishment which snacks we liked to be replenished.

Whether we wanted privacy or fill your days with activities, we had the choice.

Snorkeling, sunset cruises, fitness classes, yoga, fishing, paddle boarding etc. All included plus some payable options like jet skies etc.

I almost never write reviews but here I felt compelled to almost write an advert. Very impressive.

I stayed there for 6 days in mid-September.
I was worried because I could barely speak English, but all the staff were kind and helpful.
The butler spoke Japanese, so we spoke directly in Japanese.
I struggled a bit with LINE because we used Google Translate to communicate in English.
However, no matter what time I contacted them, they replied immediately.
I was able to make reservations for cruises and other things more smoothly by telling the reception.
All the facilities were very clean.
The room was cleaned twice a day, in the morning and at night.
I often met the cleaning staff in front of my room, and they often called out to me.

The weather forecast for the stay, which I checked in advance in Japan, predicted thunderstorms for half of the 6 days.
In fact, it only rained one morning.
(The sand on the road was white, so I was able to see white puddles, which was a valuable experience in itself!)
Even on the days when it rained, the waves were strong until the evening and I couldn't go down to the sea from the villa, but I was able to go into the infinity pool and the sea on the beach.
(This time we stayed in a water villa without a pool, but the waves in the non-pool area are a little stronger.

Perhaps because of this, the flag showing the state of the sea in the area where our room was located never turned green, which is the safest state, during our stay. Still, when the flag was yellow, we put on a life jacket and enjoyed snorkeling!

Miraculously, we were able to meet a manta ray in front of our room!)

This was also my first time trying stand-up paddle surfing.

It seems that you can try it between 9:00 and 16:00.

I occasionally saw people trying it, but there were times when there were no people at all, so I was able to play at my own pace.

The food changes every day, and the people working in the live kitchen were all smiling and having a lot of fun.

After dinner, we enjoyed darts and billiards, and were very busy from morning to night.

I had imagined a resort as a place to relax, but our stay was very physically demanding. lol

For six days, we had an extraordinary life that I can't express enough about the sea, the pool, the food, and the drinks.

Above all, the resort was wonderful for the beauty of the sea and the warmth of the staff.

I would like to visit again if I have the opportunity.
Thank you for the wonderful memories.

Dear Varu Team,

Thank you all so much for making our honeymoon the most amazing time. You truly know how to care after your guests and make them feel special.

It started as soon as we reached arrivals, being met by Shena. Shena greeted us and took us to our boat. As soon as we stepped off the boat we were greeted by an incredible welcome party who checked us in and made us feel right at home. Here we met the fantastic, Firey - who looked after us during our stay. Firey was always smiling, whenever we saw him, and was always incredibly prompt when booking us onto classes/excursions.

The whole team was absolutely fantastic but a few exceptional members of staff who made our stay even more special:

Firstly, Jay was absolutely fantastic. Our room was always spotless and sometimes Jay would leave lovely towel art to greet us on our return back to the room. Thank you so much, Jay.

The whole diving team was incredible. Special shoutouts to Spongy and Raalhey who always made us feel extra safe on our excursion - especially the shark sunset snorkelling - an incredible experience. I also wanted to say a thank you to the sunset and fishing cruise team (I’m sorry I did not get their names) but they went above and beyond during our excursions.

All of the Bay rouge staff, especially Hemant and Anik, who always greeted us with a smile and were very attentive to our needs.

Varu is truly a special place, and future guests cannot go wrong picking this island for their once in a lifetime trip.

Thank you all once again for helping us make memories for life!

Stay for 4 nights after our tour round Sri Lanka, from arriving at the airport to getting through check in on return to UK, the service was brilliant, met by rep and taken to cafe to wait for boat to take us to Island, boat arrived quicker than we were told, on the boat to island you get a bottle of water, chocolate and there is free wifi, so you can start the check-in process before arriving at island, on arriving at island you are welcomed by the general manager and all the relevant department heads, you are then led to reception with a Maldivian drum parade where you meet your host (ours was Arsham), while our cases were taken to the villa by boat. Arsham was extremely helpful throughout our stay, he provide is WhatsApp number so if we needed anything we could just message him and it would get sorted. As this was our first time in the Maldives we had no idea what to expect. In the 4 days we were there they had already booked us into 2 of the 3 speciality restaurants, and onto 2 evening trips included in the plan (one a sunset fishing trip and the other a stargazing trip), both were fantastic. The food in the main buffet dining room was the best we have had in an all inclusive holiday, wonderful choice and always hot, the service in the restaurant was superb. The Nu Restaurant which is a Mediterranean themed restaurant was outstanding, situated on one of the jetties you see fish and sharks swimming around. The Kaage restaurant which is a Maldivian themed restaurant was even better, the welcome you get is wonderful, a welcome drink of local juices, then you have the option to wear the local dress, food and service is amazing. You can go on as many free snorkelling trips as you like, they have 2 a day.
The room is serviced twice a day in the morning and evening (turn down service with chocolates on the pillow.
There is a mini bar and a wine fridge in the room both stocked daily, plenty of water provided and is also readily available at the bar and restaurant.
Check out is simple and straight forward, as our flight was not until 9pm we opted for a late check with inclusive plan at an additional cost, well worth it.
The cases are collected about 30 minutes before the boat leaves and you check out at the same time.

Hi do the water villas without a pool have a sunset view? Thanks in advance

It depends. We stayed in the non pool water villas if you want a sunset view ask for villa 300 to 315. I We also stayed on the dolphin jetting, the other long jetty. Although it faced the opposite direction to 307 & 311 it did have a sunset view as it was the second from end one. This was important for us and we managed to work out to ask for 300 -315 by watching people’s YouTube tours of the island. The rooms on the middle jetty all start with a 4. Hope that helps.

You are nervous? We fly out this Friday , it is supposed to to be the dry season but shows non stop thunderstorms.! I think at the moment you just pay your money and take a chance. I have been to the Maldives in August before and never seen a drop of rain. The rain seemed to come and go fairly quickly and it is still warm. Take care .

Should be perfect. About 30 degrees. Warmer in the island villas, cooler in the overwater villas
