Tivoli Hotel offers everything you wish you in a luxurous hotel stay - for families, friends and couple's getaways. Dive into our pool, enjoy the bliss of the lovely sauna, get your daily exercise in our fitness center or enjoy an evening drink at one of our three bars.. You can also experience colorful, illusionistic art and adventurous events and playrooms. In other words, we work every day to offer both business people and families with children a complete hotel stay – and it seems that the work is valued since we won the title as the best hotel in Copenhagen in 2022. Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center boasts a comfortable and stylish atmosphere, though its identity doesn't always resonate with all guests. While its location garners mixed reviews regarding proximity to attractions, some travelers find it central. The rooms, often described as small, face criticism for cleanliness, maintenance, and noise levels.
Guests have called out the hotel for not providing sufficient value, pointing to the pricey extras and small rooms. Despite offering child-friendly amenities and a varied breakfast, the hotel's service and housekeeping consistency receive varied feedback, with cleanliness being a notable concern.

Hotel's Favourite
I cannot rate this hotel any higher, we had a fantastic stay. From the minute we walked in the door the everything was exceptional.
All staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and their customer service was brilliant.
The hotel was so clean no matter what part of the hotel we were in. Our family hotel room in 777 was comfortable, clean and cosy.
The hotel is perfect for people with children, it seems children are catered for everywhere without taking away the quality, our daughter could have easily just stayed in the hotel.. the bouncy castle was fab!
The breakfast buffet was excellent and again it was a great touch it was so well catered for children. We ate in the brasserie twice and both times the food was delicious, good vegetarian options. Again, the brasserie had a nice feeling but also catering for children well and again the staff were friendly and welcoming in there.
Even though we have 2 small children I could see this would be a hotel to come as just adults too as they catered so well for all, having separate adult only breakfast etc..
We don’t usually want to spend too long in hotels when away but this hotel draws you back as it just did everything so well.
We had an issue with our baby being unwell and again the 2 staff members Benjamin and Lukas were so kind and caring to me when I felt worried - thank you.
I don’t know how anyone could find their stay here anything less than perfect.
We really hope to be back.
Thank you to you all, you are all doing a great job.

We stayed in two superior connecting rooms on the fourth floor of the City tower for five nights over Halloween.
Checkin has moved to 4pm (and checkout an earlier 11am) presumably because of covid although all restrictions have ended in Denmark and we saw little actual cleaning.
Checkin itself was sluggish wi5 everyone trying to checkin at the same late hour. Staff were though friendly and attentive.
Our rooms were well appointed with clear bathrooms and nice fittings although the rug in the twin room was a little worn and soiled.
As we were tired from travelling we ordered room service although we had to call because online ordering wasn’t operating. Burgers for two adults and two children were £65 without drinks and only slightly better than McDonalds and we paid at the door.
Breakfast at the weekend has to be precooked and it was a little challenging finding a table some days. The buffet itself is okay although there were a few obvious omissions such as salmon and almost no gluten free food.
We’d booked a day all inclusive at Tivoli Gardens although the inclusive part wasn’t nearly as generous as it had sounded.
We used the pool most afternoons which was nice if a little chilly and overrun with other families who let their kids go wild including in the sauna.
We didn’t sleep well partly because of the worst (square) pillows we’ve ever experienced in a hotel. On our last day we stumbled across the ability to call for alternative pillows which, had it been more obvious, would have been a real boon.
Also, the location probably works best if you have a car as it’s a 20min walk to the nearest Metro station or Tivoli Gardens, which becomes exhausting when you’ve done it four times in a day. There is a bus service 7A that runs from the main road beside the hotel but again we only found out by chance several days into our stay.
Our biggest disappointment with the hotel was that it’s primarily a conference centre and not really a suitable environment to stay with kids. Every day saw a new conference and hundreds more business people flooding into the huge foyer we had to pass to get anywhere. It’s a bizarre contradiction to sell it as a family AND conference hotel and sadly it just doesn’t work. All the child-friendly elements were in decay, such as the rooftop playground which felt derelict. And, both of us adults came away with Covid despite being as careful as possible.

Central Copenhagen, modern hotel with harlequin and Tivoli theme
This is one of the best hotels in Copenhagen, and incredibly well managed. The rooms are not all that large but they are well designed, clean and modern.
The hotel features two outstanding dinner opportunities, sushi or steakhouse, set in two different theme restaurants. Both are quite often very full.
If you arrive with car, this is one of the few places where there is good and reasonably priced parking opportunities available directly at the hotel. Go sightseeing in central Copenhagen, many museums are within walking distance, and the buss passes just outside the hotel door. There are also always available taxies lined up before the front entrance.
-It just works!

This is not a 4 star hotel.
Our room was dirty, as in literally a thick layer of dust everywhere. when complained about we were told the room would be deep cleaned when we left at 10am for the day - when we returned at 5:30pm not a single thing had been done. nobody had been to clean the room at all (we also hung the sign on the door to clean it).
The mini bar was completely empty. not even a bottle of water was available. when we arrived at 10pm Friday evening and called reception to get a drink we were told room service was closed. Considering a cost of 750 euros for 3 nights I would have expected we would at the very least not have to go shopping in a super market to fill up our mini bar ourselves. we were told the bar was empty due to COVID - not sure how you can catch the virus from an unopened bottle in a minibar.
The room also lacked simple items. There was a pad of paper but no pen. No complimentary bathrobes or slippers even though the hotel has a spa. Apparently only executive rooms are allowed these and all other rooms can rent them for 95kr per set. The explanation we were given was that the hotel didn’t want guests to be walking around the hotel in robes as there are often conferences held there. Obviously this reason is null as long as you pay enough money…
I paid for breakfast to be included.the first morning I went I had 45 minutes before I needed to leave the hotel. when I arrived there as a queue of at least 40/50 people. obviously there was not enough time for me. I managed to get a reimbursement of 20% of my bill when I went to complain. for the 3rd time.
I hate complaining. it ruins my experience of being in holiday but this time it was absolutely necessary. I found it very frustrating that I had to complain multiple times for anything to be done.
I will never stay here again and I have made sure to tell all my family and friends in Denmark to not waste their money here.

We truly had a great experience at this hotel. The hotel is very kid friendly and especially around the holidays. From what I saw, it also caters to the non family visitors. The themed Tivoli room was little small considering what we paid for it but we didn´t spent that much time in the room anyway. About a 10-12 min walk to Tivoli and you can buy the entry tickets in the hotel lobby. A big mall about 10 min walk from the hotel.
Only thing that is safe to say is not kid friendly is the pool. Very small seating area, no activities for the kids and you have to watch the little ones constantly as the pool is mostly quite deep.

We are experiencing a very bad hotel. It’s not living up to what we have been expecting. Rooms are not cleaned automatically /they didn’t inform us beforehand.. They only refill minibar - see that the room needs cleaning and leave without doing something. If you come here for the weekend you will have difficulties in finding food without reservation.. Of course you can have room service but then you will eat your food in tiny rooms without proper table. If you book this hotel because of the pool be aware that it’s very cold. Of course you are asked not to change in your rooms as this would require you walking with swimming suits to the pool area. And this would make everything much easier - obviously it should not be comfortable. away from inner city/not nice surroundings. Choose other hotels.

Response from Guest Relations, Guest Services / Front Office at Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center
Responded 13 Dec 2022
Dear Georg, First of all thank you for taking the time to review us on both Booking.com, Tripadvisor and Google. I am sorry to know that your stay did not live up to your expectations! When you stay with us several nights we leave it to you to decide whether you want daily cleaning of the room. If you prefer daily cleaning, we are happy to do so! I am however very sorry to hear that you did not feel properly informed about this. We do make an effort to keep our guests informed both via our website and with information cards handed out at check in. Regarding food options at the hotel we are very proud to have 3 popular restaurants. Should these all be fully booked we are 5 min walk from Copenhagen Mall and 10-15min walk from Kødbyen (restaurant and bar area in Vesterbro) and the city center. We also have a concierge service that will be happy to help with advise and reservations. The water in the pool has a constant temperature of 28-29 degrees, and is therefore not a hot water pool. We do have a sauna available to warm up if the pool feels a little on the cold side. We also have changing facilities by the pool. Should you prefer to change in your room we kindly ask that you use a robe or other comfortable clothing when passing through the hotel. Thank you again for your feed-back. Yours sincerely, TIVOLI HOTEL&CONGRESS CENTER Emilie Kirk - Senior Reservations Coordinator

Location: 15 min walk to tivoli gardens (unexpected) and minimum 15 min to city center or other points of interest. The walk is not a nice one and the direct neighbourhood of the hotel is rather ugly to my opinion.
Room: Dated, carpet on the floor instead of wooden floor which we expected the on booking, no room between foldingbed for children and desk, scary window, slippery bath tub, no good shampoo. Positive: nice bed and good waterpressure.
Corona: lots of spritsers for your hands, but not all are replaced on time when empty, 36 people (much to much to my opinion) aloud in swimmingpool and you have to reserve, breakfast still a buffet, not enough distance between people, at the reception entrance and exit, but nobody there to guide this so this doesnt work.
Staff: friendly.
Costs: to much for what you get and you pay a lot extra to park your car, no discount for tivoli gardens, bike rental way more expensive than in the city.

Nice hotel with spacious & comfy rooms. It was quiet even though the hotel seemed very full - lots of families when we were there. A Breakfast was busy but there was enough space and the food was spread out so there was room to manoeuvre. There was loads of lovely food. Coffee could be better and the orange juice was very sweet. Whilst the location wasn’t exactly central it suited us very well. We used the Donkey Republic bikes to get about and we were never far from anywhere. The pool facility with a big sauna is really nice and was never full when I used it. The staff were really nice and very helpful when I needed help with something. I loved having a kettle in the room so I could make a brew. Great views from the top floor. My only gripe with the room is the need for a glass door in the bathroom. If you need to switch the light on in the night, light floods the room which is annoying.

They have a new 'energy saving' initiative, so they will not clean the room unless you fill out an extensive online form every day explaining exactly what you would like cleaned and why. Staff entered the room daily to re-stock the mini bar (so that more charges could be made), but neglected to make the bed or replace clearly used towels. The location was fine (if a little far from the city center) but the lack of attention to the room made the price of staying less reasonable. There were activities for kids, and they decorated a bit for Christmas, but I felt like an inconvenience when I asked to have fresh towels at least once during my four night stay (and then had to explain in excruciating detail exactly what I needed).

We had the best time in Tivoli hotel, the room was clean, bed was comfy, had a heated toilet, high quality toiletries (including hair conditioner) and lovely staff members. Room was cleaned everyday. Location was good as only 10 min walk from the central station, 10 min walk to the meat packing district where we ate most of our evening meals and less than 10 mins to the shopping centre.

I am afraid I don’t. Why do you need a picture??
The pool is free, but cold. We did not need to book a slot.
It was a full breakfast, but I don't think they have bacon.
Please budget between DKK 300 and DKK 350
No clothes on it’s a child friendly hotel

London, United Kingdom130 contributions33 helpful votesWhen you check in how much do they pre authorise on your credit card? I paid in advance. I recently checked into a Heathrow hotel that pre authorised £200 on a £90 paid upfront room "in case of extras". Rather annoyed me to be honest as it seemed excessive for 1 night
Sorry for late reply, I don't think they did, but I have a freekingly high limit, so it didn't matter.
But they registered my card at arrival, so they might have done, without me figuring out.
