We have just returned home from another fabulous 11 night stay at The Old Markets. This boutique hotel oozes class and elegance and this year’s stay was no exception. Thank you to Carlo and all of the team for their hard work and making our stay so enjoyable and providing a first class service. The location of the Old Markets is excellent for the harbour, restaurants, shops and taxi boats. We caught up with old friends and made new ones including some also staying at The Old Markets. We are very much looking forward to our next stay here already.

Symi has to be one of the prettiest islands in Greece and this hotel is one of the loveliest spots to stay that I have ever experienced! Carlo was a very gracious host and his team including the lovely Daniel made our stay amazing. From breakfast on the terrace to cocktails as the sun went down, this hotel had it all! We were a group of 12 and the team here couldn't have been more welcoming.

Our first trip to Greece will be the first of many! The Old Markets is a beautiful environment and totally relaxing. 5 mins walk down the steps to the harbour (with the water taxis to the extraordinary beaches and the fantastic Poseidon round-the-island boat tour) and 15 minutes to the top of Kali Strata and restaurants at the top of the hill (The Secret Garden and Kali Strata). It’s a VERY short transfer from the Sebeco ferry terminal and Daniel met us on arrival and made sure our bags were spirited to our room. The staff are absolutely welcoming and put you at your ease most gracefully. To be ultra-critical, a little more variety at Breakfast would enhance longer stays but what is on offer is lovely (especially the Symi Omlette). Don’t expect champagne as it says on the website. However, we had a 10 days stay, full of superlatives, and would strongly encourage anyone to stay. Thank you Carlo and Team. We will be back!

our five night stay at the Old Markets on Symi in June 2023 was absolutely perfect in every way. Excellent email communications when booking and help with the ferry schedule was definitely appreciated. the location in the Symi harbor is perfect and the view from our terrace in the Nimos suite was exceptional. Was a treat to wake up every morning and look out at the gorgeous harbor below. Carlo and team run a wonderful, relaxing hotel. We're super glad we added a fifth night and like others we met at Old Markets, will certainly be returning. Highly recommended!

Beautiful old restored buildings just a few steps from the quayside. We stayed in “Ouranos”, a beautiful, tastefully decorated room with amazing views over the harbour. Everything needed is provided and Andrew and his team couldn’t do enough. Breakfast on the terrace was delightful and on two evenings we enjoyed the fixed menu three course dinner also on the terrace.

Andy and his team have created a warm and welcoming establishment. Very accommodating with my dietary breakfast requests. It’s in a fabulous location just close enough to the heart of things, but far enough away so that you get to enjoy the view and some tranquility. The bar service in the early evening is a fun way to have an aperitif before you go out. I love the fact that it turns into an honesty bar at night. The room was fabulously comfortable. The bed was sumptuously appointed with comfortable sheets. The turn down service was welcome, with the little cheery notes placed by a chocolate at night. We stayed in Ouaranos Suite which is worth paying for for the view. Don’t come if you don’t like walking up steps as there are a fair few to contend with. It was so wonderful that they helped us off the ferry with our heavy bags. When we left they did the same thing too- thank goodness. They booked the most delightful restaurants for us too. Nothing was too much trouble. There are only a couple of things I’d change. The bathroom needs re-screeding, as the water doesn’t drain away well. It’s a bit of a hazard at night. We had to put towels down. I know it’s a Greek thing, but, I’d love it if you didn’t allow people to smoke during breakfast service. In Spain they’ve banned smoking outside in restaurants, and it’s fantastic. That would be the only thing that would stop me returning.

We had another fantastic stay at the Old Markets. We are regular visitors to Symi and travel extensively worldwide and know great hospitality when we receive it- here is one of those places. This is a charming boutique hotel so be if you are looking for big, basic or cheap , look elsewhere. Andy & his team work very hard to make everyone feel special and that is why we have already booked to return next year to the Old Markets :)

100 steps up to this gorgeous hotel where they pride themselves with attention to detail. The staff were very helpful especially Elizabett who nothing was any trouble for her. We loved the breakfasts on the terrace with the view of the harbour.Symi is a lovely island and so much fun getting on a boat every day for a quick trip to one of the many beaches all offering beaches (not sandy so bring swim shoes) tavernas and sunbeds with parasols. Coming back to the old Markets for a quick swim in the plunge pool was a treat.

This was the most gorgeous Hotel. Perfectly located, beautiful rooms and really friendly and helpful staff. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough! We hadn’t been to Symi before and loved the island. Very relaxed, much less touristy than other islands and great tavernas

Having experienced a week in Symi and the Old Markets in 2017 we knew we would be back and we did for 2 weeks in September Sadly the owner, Andrew, was in hospital London but thankfully well on the way to recovery. We were met of the ferry by his young nephew Ben, who was an exceptional host throughout our stay. Charming, comfortable and clean rooms, very friendly staff, excellent breakfast on the terrace with a view looking down onto Symi harbour which converted into an honestly bar in the evening.
