Neighbourhood
Exarchia
Exarchia is in many ways Athens’ best-kept secret, discovered by relatively few international visitors. Located behind the main University and Polytechnic buildings, it is unsurprisingly home to many students, intellectuals and politicos. This is reflected in the area’s vibrant street art and graffiti, which seems to cover almost every inch of wall space. Some of the best Athenian tavernas are located here, as well as its most alternative bars and underground music venues. You'll find political bookshops and quirky stores here, yet it is also a neighborhood inhabited by families and older folk. On Saturdays, punks and grandmothers alike head for Kallidromiou Street, nestled below Strefi Hill, to pick up fresh produce at the traditional laiki agora (street market).

Very nice hotel, centrally located. Great spacious lobby, helpful reception staff and great breakfast. Only downside they allow customers to smoke in the rooms so there us a bad smell of smoking on entering the rooms.

Dear Guest, Thank you for providing us with your feedback following your stay with us. We were very concerned by the fact that your room had a smoking smell, since we are a non-smoking hotel. Smoking is prohibited in all public areas, the lobby, the corridors, the restaurants and especially in the guest rooms. We have a strict policy concerning the matter and we have even placed a warning sign in all guestrooms with a fine charged in case of noncompliance. We wish you would have informed us while you were here so that we could have tried to move you to a different room. We would like to apologize for the inconvenience you experienced and hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back on a future visit to Athens. Kind regards, Marketing Dpt.

It was a pleasant surprise! Our first time in earth cradle of human civilization. Undoubtedly, we expected an excellent treatment, but everything went beyond the limits of courtesy, sympathy, spontaneity, easy help. Service of staff without fail, from the reception, maid,

Our hotel is very centrally located and basically you can reach anything within a few minutes walk. In order to reach the Acropolis, since it's a longer walk, we would recommend using the metro (which is 2 minutes away from the hotel) and then get off to Acropolis station (right outside the Acropolis museum). As far as it concerns the safety during the night, we strongly advise all our customers to avoid carrying large amounts of cash or valuable things due to the dangers all major cities are facing.

Dear Mr slkohls, thank you for your email. Our hotel does not provide transportation services. You can use the underground metro to get from the airport to our hotel. The line you can use is the blue line from: Airport with direction to Agia Marina. You need to change to central station Syntagma and take the red line direction Anthoupoli. The next stop is Panepistimio Station and that is the stop where you get off. Our hotel is 200 meters north of the station. The ticket per person costs 10 Euro. Alternatively, you can take a taxi, located right outside the arrivals terminal. Approximate fare 40-45€. Remain at your disposal.

Depending on time of arrival there is a rail to downtown that cost 8euro per person. I took it on the way out of town and caught it at Syntagma Square station which is a straight shot. Syntagma square is three long blocks from hotel. I recommend it if you are not lugging around massive suitcases. I only travel with a backpack and a carry-on.
