This review is delayed from my trip in September. But, it was my first time in Portugal, and I arrived from the US on an early a.m. flight and without my luggage. The hotel was very accommodating by letting me into the room early, and following up with the airport to get my bag delivered the next day. The style of the hotel is beautiful... quiet room... and wonderful restaurant and bar. It's in the perfect location to walk to most things and the front desk folks were really great with restaurant recommendations, arranging transport to my next town, and general emotional support while waiting for my luggage. I would not stay anywhere else in Porto!!
Our family stayed at this hotel from 10-13 dec2019. Hotel is really beautiful and staff is very accommodating. Highly recommend anyone to stay here. Rooms are huge and breakfast is really delicious and great. Our best hotel in our entire trip of Portugal.kudos to Mariann who is so efficient, effective and attentive. Many hotels have to learn to how this hotel is run. I always thought Asians hotel are more hospitable but my thoughts have changed after visiting Portugal and staying this hotel. 5 Stars.
Home away from my home. It is useless to write a long story when you can only say it is the best from A to Z. Highly recommended. Already visited twice and definitely will stay again when I am in Porto.
We had our room on the first floor with African décor decorated in the room. We stayed in room #2. We arrived in Porto in Nov 2019. We arrived in Porto by plane and took metro from the airport directly to San Benton metro station. After getting off at San Bentos station, it took us about 10 minutes to walk downhill from the station to the hotel on a rainy day. The receptionist was quite nice and helpful during our stay. Our room was a huge room with a modern tub and shower. The décor of the room was impeccable. The only thing to comment about the room was that there was not any window except the terrace door and window in our room. The hotel was surrounded by different shops such as restaurants, grocery stores and spa. I remembered that there was one Michelin rated restaurant just south of the restaurant. We didn’t try it but we noticed that it was filled with customers every evening. In terms of sightseeing, you can just walk north on the Silveira Street passing the Sao Bentos train station and some traffic lights for 10 minutes (slow walk), you will arrive at the city center where you can get on any sightseeing tour bus (blue, yellow and red). I found that Porto was a very nice place to stay in as my hotel price was much more reasonable in Porto than in Lisbon. Also, the city is much easier to stroll around than in Lisbon as walking in Lisbon involves lots more upward and downward slopes and stairs. …
Small is beautiful and since we are always on the lookout for a boutique stay we booked Torel 1884 for our Porto escape. From the moment we walked in we knew that this place got it right. Perfect lighting, impeccable detail, classic design but with an artistic flair and touch. It’s authentic yet comfortable and practical. Everything that matters is in place. Definitely highly recommended!
