It’s not just another hotel in Lisbon. It is the Palácio do Governador (Governor’s Palace, in English), with 60 different rooms, near the Tagus river in the historic centre of Belém, one of the most beautiful and emblematic areas of the Portuguese capital. Built on the site of the former house of the governor of the Tower of Belém, exquisitely restored, on top of roman ruins probably from the 1st to the 5th century, the Palácio do Governador is a palatial building with a reception that once was a chapel, a restaurant with original domes as ceilings and contemporary SPA that’s linked to the ancient thermal traditions of Mediterranean cultures. Close to the Tagus and national historic monuments, Palácio do Governador is the natural choice for anyone who wants to be in Lisbon, near everything, from culture to leisure and far enough from the frenzy of the city centre.

Belém
Belém is the "capital of the Portuguese Discoveries" and a photographer's paradise. You can spend an entire day exploring this neighborhood: monuments (Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower, Monument to the Discoveries), museums (Coach Museum, Centro Cultural de Belém) and breathtaking views of the Tagus river will make your visit worth your time. Belém also offers a variety of restaurants and cafes, namely the famous - and delicious - "Pastéis de Belém" (typical Portuguese custard tarts; make sure you buy an extra box of those!). Easily accessible from Lisbon's historic center, Belém is a must-do, especially if you're spending more than one day visiting the Portuguese capital.

Recently renovated, and built over the ruins of the old governor's palace - whose foundations you will see as you walk in, and of which beautiful traces remain in the chapel and restaurant - this hotel has a beautiful setting opposite the Tower of Belem, to which you can stroll

We stayed at the Palacio De Governador for 2 nights, very friendly helpful staff at the reception , the room was more beautiful with river ( Tower the Belém ) view . The only problem was the bed ( 2 twin bed next to each other as a king bed was not a good idea :(

Stayed 4 nights while attending Lisboa half marathon and chose this as a convenient location to the fair and finish line. Great historic hotel, nice rooms, very good bathrooms, not a bad breakfast. Service was good, a lot of restaurants walking distance and we visited 2 of them.

Excellent breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. Located in Belem district which is very pretty and nice. Close to some attractions such as Belem tower and Jeronimos monastery but a long walk to the city centre. There is a pharmacy across the road and a supermarket 50m

Does the hotel have a gym, rowing machine, cycling, walking machine?
Hello, yes, they have a gym, I didn't have time to use it, used the sauna instead, but I saw some machines there, thread mill, cross trainer, walking board, cycling, I think, stuff like that...

During our trip there the outdoor pool season was not open yet. I assume that they have that. After all, it is a five star hotel. You won't be disappointed! Have fun!
