SANA Capitol Hotel is a new hotel, built in 2008, located in the centre of Lisbon. With an irreverent and urban design, SANA Capitol Hotel offers a unique atmosphere, allied to extreme comfort and peace. Near Marquês de Pombal, an area with excellent accessibility whether by car, or public transport, and a few minutes’ walk both from the historic centre and business areas, SANA Capitol Hotel is the ideal hotel for pleasure or business trips to Lisbon. Every area of the hotel was conceived to be unique and appealing, from the "clean-look" and relaxed rooms, to the modern and bright bar or the sophisticated, cosmopolitan restaurant.

We have been spending our holidays at SANA Lisboa in Lisbon for years. But unfortunately the Sana Lisboa is being renovated. So we got the idea to spend our vacation in another SANA hotel. The decision was made in favor of the SANA Capitol, as it is right next to the SANA Lisboa (after the renovation: EPIC SANA Marquese). We haven't regretted the choice for a second. We received a warm welcome, the rooms were perfectly clean. The breakfast was overwhelming, both in the variety and quantity, as well as in the friendliness of the staff member. Due to Covid-19, the rooms were only cleaned when requested. I found that solved very well in the current situation. The whole stay was perfect, and the farewell on the day of departure was very friendly. Since we felt so comfortable, we will spend our next vacation in Lisbon - and we will definitely be back, because we love Portugal - here at the SANA Capitol. Once SANA, always SANA :-)!

An average hotel but... the rooms have no electric kettles, windows hardly open (no fresh air) and one can hear the other guests snoring - to say the least - in a reasonable modern hotel, that seems unacceptable.

This three star hotel is comfortable, clean, and efficiently managed. It is much less expensive than nearby big name tourist hotels. I booked this hotel directly through their website. I think that this is a type of hotel that middle class Portuguese and savvy travelers who do not care about swimming pools, spas, and elaborate amenities might choose. I stayed in this hotel for two nights. On two previous trips to Lisbon I stayed at a different adjacent good SANA Lisboa Hotel that is now closed temporarily for a complete renovation and upgrade. One of the best features of this hotel is the excellent breakfast provided to residents as part of the room fee. I must have gluten-free food for medical reasons and the hotel breakfast offered many excellent choices that enabled me to have a delicious generous breakfast that met my special needs. I think breakfast is served right up to 10:30 AM. The breakfast staff seemed very committed to making the breakfast and their service pleasant. The hotel is located just off Pombal Circle which is central to Lisbon and its public transportation links - including fast and inexpensive metro-rail connections to the airport and train stations. My home is in the Porto area and I will continue to use this hotel when I am in Lisbon.

Clean and comfortable perhaps in need of a little TLC but convenient for central Lisbon and nearby car parks. We used Holmes Place which cost 55 euros for two days. Our room was small but adequate only lacking in coffee/tea making facilities. Breakfast was impressive in terms of variety and quality but could have been so much better if the hot elements were hot, or even luke warm. Cold fried eggs or cold scrambled isn’t nice. We did not see any of the hot trays replaced or for that matter the coffee urns, meaning that the coffee was stewed and barely warm. That said we enjoyed our stay and will use this hotel again.

This is a modern, clean, comfortable, well-priced hotel. I had a basic single room, which was perfect for me. The bathroom was small and a bit cold, but it was modern, clean, and functional. Reception was friendly and efficient. I was surprised at the excellent breakfast: scrambled, fried, and hard boiled eggs, bacon, vegetables, fruits, breads, and sweets. The only slight problem was that the hot water pitcher was not replaced periodically, so my tea was just lukewarm. However, everything else on the buffet seemed to be refreshed regularly. The location is a bit away from the main tourist area, and the hotel is located down a side street of a major street. I am a good walker, so this was fine for me. The hotel is right near the Marques de Pombal square and metro station, so it is easy to get to. And the hop-on hop-off buses have a main location right at Marques de Pombal Square, so if you plan to get around Lisbon this way, then the SANA is a good, economical choice. Just so you’re not confused... It took me a while to find the hotel. There is a different SANA, the SANA Lisboa Hotel on Avenida Fontes Pereira de Melo, a major street leading off from the Marques de Pombal Square. However, the SANA Capitol is on Rua Eça de Queiros, a minor, one-block long street directly behind the SANA Lisboa and at a lower elevation. Check the map to make sure you know how to find it. You can access this street indirectly from Marques de Pombal square, or, if walking, you can turn at the Burger King on Avenida Fontes Pereira de Melo.
