Great location, but very obsolete hotel. The room has a strong mold smell so we had to keep all the windows permanently open. The fourniture and the carpet is also very old. In the room and also in the common spaces. The breakfast is like 20 years ago. It seems than nothing has changed in the last time. Impassible waiters - they just make a lot of noise when cleaning tables. No air ( we have opened the windows of the restaurant) due to warming food devices. For sure not a 4 stars hotel. It was, maybe, long time ago.…
All rooms have balcony with ocean view overlooking pool, bay and Monte Brasil. What an incredible view !! Reception is at 4th floor and pool at 1st floor. We had a room at 3rd floor and it was really good. Large comfortable room and bathroom with bath-tub, large bed, good airco. Very silent for a good sleep If you have the slightest problem in your room don't hesitate informing the reception and they will solve it or change your room. There is a very friendly lady at the reception who helps you with any problem or question. Sorry I don't remember her name. Dolce Gusto coffee in room and iced tea water at reception. Walking distance 10' to city center ; the nicest street to go to the city is Rua de Sao Pedro at the roundebout. Breakfast buffet is really good. Very good espresso !! You can sit outside with an amazing view but there are only 3 tables. We came every morning at 07.30h to have a table outside and had a great restfull and relaxed breakfast till 09.30h. Fantastique vacation sensation !! Hotel is not very cheap but probably one of the best of the Island. There is a tour desk near the gym. We booked here the island tour. Nice pool and pool bar. Towels at reception, enough deck chairs but only 3 parasols in bad condition. A bit scandalous with 30°C full sun and no shadow. There is a bus connection from the airport but we took a taxi at €20. There is a very good supermarket Meu Super at Alto Das Covas square10' walk. They have good wines. Our favourite was Reguengos Reserva (€4.19) to drink on our balcony. For a great dinner go to Q.B. Foodcourt (20' walk from the hotel). Make a reservation oustside at first floor overlooking the garden. T-Boone 800 gr. for 2 pers €35. For a cheap drink, beer and good wines go left when you exit the hotel at Rua Diogo De Teive and walk 5 '. In front of Hotel Do Caracol you'll see Bar Esplanada Central. Roof top Terrace overlooking ocean. Very good, very friendly, very cheap.…
Uninspiring rooms, poor breafast, variable service at the front desk and worst of all, the most stained carpets that I have ever seen all over the hotel, make this at best an average hotel... However, the location is so nice, the views amazing, the bartender great, the gardens serene and the pool well kept and comforting that this must be the best hotel in town! I would not risk another place...…
If you don't like to stay in town, but being connected to the sea, this generously conceived hotel is the best choice at Angra. Unfortunately the hotel is aging and could need an update, even the windows weren't cleaned despite the wonderful view they can offer. Access to the reception is on the uppermost level (4), so the rooms can be found from 3 to 1. This level 1 is at ground-/pool-level and here's why you should choose upper levels (3+4) if you like to keep your window open at night: animals (cats, foxes, marders…?) are hanging around and eventually coming in searching for food. Last thing: forget about breakfast, unless you want diet. Coffee comes out of machines done by instant powder… P.S.: try the friday nights at the pool, funny DJ, nice ambiance…
Stunning pool & walking location to the city. Very slow service for expensive food & drinks at the pool bar. Sandwiches and salads are yummy. Rooms, lobby and hotel carpets need „maintenance“ eg lobby chairs broken Breakfast average for 4 star hotel. Coffee no comment. Tennis courts seemed closed and covered by „moos“…
