We booked this hotel with polish travel agency. The flight, hotel transfer, accommodation and food- everything was included in the price. At first we really enjoyed the apartment we have been located to. It was really spacious (40 m2), tidy, well equipped and renovated and with the good swimming pool view. Not so far from the beach (1,4 km walking distance) But that’s it if we talk about advantages. As we had Half Board we came to eat our dinner. And tbh we were shocked! There is almost no options to choose from! Usually we stay at 4 hotels (Spain, Turkey, Egypt) and everywhere dinner buffets are enormously big! But not here...for dinner we had only French fries, chicken, rice, vegetables and creams as a dessert (pictures are attached. That was literally all what we had). That is quiet sad that no one informed us that HB in this hotel and in Portugal has no sense. Here people and tourist usually visit pubs, beach cafes and restaurants. We missed a few dinners, because we wanted to eat something more related to Mediterranean food and not the French fries. After a couple of days we visit our hotel restaurant for dinner once again. It was a little bit better. Not too much food, but they offered fresh fish at least. Also, as we had drinks included in HB we tried some local drinks during the stay. BUT! One day as usual I ordered some drinks for my mom and me and waitress Ruth asked me to sign the bill (for the first time!). It was strange as we didn’t do it before and received drinks without any papers to sign. So I asked the waitress why I need to do that? Aren’t drinks included in the price? She said that I don’t need to pay and just have to sign. So I did. And I was really surprised At the day of check out when hotel receptionist asked me to pay for them. For what?? As I asked the waitress a couple of times about that! But anyway this waitress Ruth is really rude girl. We saw her a couple of times during the dinner. She is always irritated, rude to people and seems like she hates her job and lie to people. While we were eating a Spanish couple came to the restaurant. Almost all the tables for two weren’t prepared, so they just chosen the one free table without knifes and forks. The waitress was irritated that they didn’t take the table she wanted them to. So she threw cutlery and napkins on the table without even laying them out ! A couple were shocked! And we too! How can such an irresponsible person work in customer service? She probably has to be isolated and sit in the office. Not to mention that I didn’t see this Spanish couple ever again after the incident. I just saw their disappointment at that day and talk with them after that dinner. Spanish guy said that this waitress is just stupid, so probably this couple already had an argues with her before. As I didn’t see the couple ever again I guess that they just leaved the hotel the very next day! Hotel staff it’s a big problem here! Housekeepers do good job, and male workers from bar and reception. Especially Rafael- very friendly, professional worker who wants to make the guests stay as more comfortable as can. Only because of such polite people we had good days in Carvoeiro. I like Portugal and Carvoeiro, but it’s still the question will we come back to this hotel after all or choose more appropriate hotel in same area next time.

I was searching for a good 4* hotel to spend a couple days with my boyfriend, and got this hotel that looked like a very poor hostel. We heard everything from our bedroom (people talking in the hallway, sneezing, cars engines). There was dry blood on a pillowcase. The hotel had nothing to do like the pictures. The breakfast had FLIES on the warm food, while the employees served us. The breakfast room was very small, and it didn’t had any crowd control due to covid. There were an entire team of soccer players (early teens) making so much noise and they were al over the food corner. No social distânce. I asked for the complaints book and it was DENIED to us, saying an excuse ( the superiors weren’t there). We had to book another hotel, (Jupiter marine, also 4*). The price range is very similar. We only spent one at carvoeiro hotel and one breakfast. we couldn’t take it anyone. We didn’t had a refund. Nothing Carvoeiro hotel in our opinion is a really bad hotel. Hardly would make 3* for us. Imagine 4!!!

For the price paid, the room was fantastic. We got a room on the ground floor with a little patio and a view over the pool. It was out of season, so really quiet and just a nice place to relax. The room was big, very clean and comfortable. It is also just a few minutes walk down to the beaches. Just note that the walk back is a serious uphill.
