The Hotel was superb and the food and accommodation excellent. It was very suitable for children up to the age of 11 but would not have been so good for our teenage grandchildren [who were unable to come anyway !]. The one problem we had was that the coach taking us to the Hotel dropped us at the bottom of a cobbled uphill drive 200 metres from the Reception. The driver did not help us to unload the suitcases either. There is a coach roundabout just outside the Reception so the driver could have driven us nearer and made our initial entrance easier [this was very late anyway - 11.00pm - as we waited, needlessly, 40 minutes at the Airport for people who had hired a taxi anyway ! ] The coach had to make a 3 point turn where he dropped us - so thre was no advantage to the driver ! The same thing happened when we departed and as I am 81 and my wife 75 it was very difficult. Fortunately one of the Hotel staff helped my wife with her suitcase. A.F.Davey.…
We stayed here as a family of 4 at the end of July. Room was lovely and clean with plenty of space for 4. Sofa bed a bit on the small side for bigger children but we managed with a 3 and 6 year old. Food was really nice. Good selection, not repetitive and well presented. You are given vouchers for the other restaurants to use during your stay. This was great for a change from the main buffet. You do have to book these on the day though and I would recommend you go down to reception at 8am to do this as it books up quickly. Drinks selection was great, with cocktails included in the all inclusive. Pools were clean and tidy but a little bit chilly! Sun beds were reserved every morning despite them having a policy against this. We found that if we got to the pool for about 9.30am we were still able to get a bed. We got a taxi a few times to the old town and also the marina. Both were lovely. We also visited the Zoo Marine Park and had a fantastic day. Overall we had a lovely holiday and would recommend to friends and family. …
We stayed for 8 days, generally no complaints. Great for the kids, Family holiday end of Summer last week August. Rooms were big, lovely view towards the pools golf course next door and terrace towards the sea views. lovely sunsets. 4 pools, 1 kids pool with pirate ship which is great, 1 shallow pool too for kids without the ship, two deeper pools for the adults and the kids who can swim, and kids with inflatables. I wouldn't say this is a place to go for couples. OR romantic getaways certainly not in the summer season when kids are on holidays. I would guess 80% of guests are from Portugal maybe higher. That's not a bad thing in my book but if you're looking for an English hotel experience this isnt really it. I like a place where locals go, but it did mean that some activities aren't in English, not a massive problem, but the kids who don't speak Portuguese couldn't meet many other english speaking kids. The pools aren't the cleanest by the way, not sure how they clean them but they could have been cleaner. Both kids came back with ear infections. quite common so not a complaint. just a fact. It was annoying and is a complaint that our room didnt have a phone that worked all week, and it felt as if "Maintenance" was just an excuse for them doing nothing about it. Also the door lock stopped working, it took 20 minutes to get someone to mend the door and get me in, no apology for leaving me waiting when I could have gone back to the pool. Instead, they kept saying in a minute, just bad practice. Food was good all round, amazing job considering the number of people they must have to feed 3 times a day. Also wish we'd known about the sundown terrace sooner as the one night we went for dinner was lovely the next night it was shut and our last night there. Pretty good service all round. Would go again. Bought through Jet2 who were a great airline no complaints about them at all.…
Overall a nice hotel that looked after families. I have a 12 year old and 1 year old and both were happy during our stay. The all inclusive was better than I hoped with nice food and drinks. The only thing they could improve on is: have quicker/better housekeeping as it was slow, maybe add a few more luxury touches in room, and have theme nights for the food in all inclusive (e.g. mexican/italian/thai etc) to make it feel a bit different. …
Stayed here recently with my husband and 7 year olds. We loved it here - the food was good & the pool areas well maintained & good choice of pools. Our room was fantastic - plenty of space, lovely big walk in shower & good wardrobe space. Our only slight disappointment was the evening entertainment which was a bit limited & we felt the kids club perhaps catered more for younger children. But an enjoyable stay & would recommend!…
