it's the second time i've stayed in this hotel and the experience was just as good. simple check-in,friendly and helpful staff, nice bar and the food at the restaurant was very good with a very relaxing dining area that is made for your comfort.my room was colourful and had everything one needs to make for a relaxing stay and was decorated to a high standard,wi-fi is good and with the centre of elvas and everything it has to offer a short walk away it makes for being in a good location.
We stayed here one night on a cycling tour of Alentejo. The staff are very friendly at check in looking after our bikes no problem. The pool area is large and nice, but quite chilly water when we visited (late September). It’s an easy walk into the historic old town. The restaurant is very nice for dinner and the breakfast is good too. Well recommended.
Cosy and nostalgic atmosphere. Not entirely brand new but provides all you require. Loved the white table cloths in the restaurant, and the pink tiles in the bathroom. The pool is also pretty large with a relaxed atmosphere. Overall service was very good. At bit odd was the fact that the shower head was replaced by a newer one, which didn’t fit in holder attached to the wall, so you had to keep it in your hand while showering. The restaurant is cozy and service is good but a bit expensive for the quality of the food (we ordered two different salads which mostly consisted of lettuce). Very easy access into the old city.
Very nice hotel, clean and bright. The bedroom was a good size and clean, good size bathroom with robes and slippers. We did have lunch one day which was good, breakfast more continental but only opens at 8am. Staff friendly. Enjoyed our 2 night stay, good location lots of parking on site.
This hotel was built in 1942 by a top Portuguese architect (we saw it featured in Lisbon's Guggenheim Museum of Contemporary Art). It's a period gem and the staff are very proud of it. Even the restaurant menu features dishes reflecting the food fashions of 1942. It really is a lovely and friendly place and the old walled town is a very easy walk. We really enjoyed our stay.
