One of the higher lookout points above Eden Island. Spectacular and worth stopping here as easily accessible from both directions. Busses and cars stop en route across the island and some have the music pumping which makes the experience all the more memorable.

We chose this establishment due to its proximity to the starting point of the 2017 Om die Dam Race. But we also wanted to have a great view of the dam. Our arrival was extremely disappointing as we were allocated a completely different room (no balcony and no view) to the one we booked 4 months ago ( which had a balcony with a view). Our room was already given to other patrons. But luckily the staff were able to sort out the confusion, cleaned up the room and after half an hour's anxious wait we did get our room and were still able to enjoy the sunset from our balcony. Will be back, but hopefully with no hiccups... staff very friendly and helpful!

We slept over at Point of View for one night. The room was spacious and we head a good view of the dam. The room was also neat and tidy. In the morning we had a decent breakfast. No complaints, Point of View is a good place for staying overnight.

I booked a room at Point of View for a surprise weekend away with my partner. Expecting "luxury accommodation" as promised in the name, it is exactly the opposite and overpriced. Apart from desperately needing a new coat of paint, the pool was empty and our view included the shabby upper deck which we could not access.

The entire place is in need of a complete decor overhaul and technical maintenance. Our room was freezing and the heater did not work, we had to ask for extra blankets and a heater just to maybe get at least one night filled with sleep.
Our aim was to be able to relax and read but the lighting was so poor we were forced to just watch TV.

Sadly the room smelled badly too and everything that was promised on the website is untrue.
There is no bar, spa or tennis courts as promised...the list continues.

We stayed in a "suite", how disappointing. The carpet is stained and put me off immediately. We were 3 people staying and arrived at about 15h00. The single bed was not yet made, only 2 mugs, glasses and towels set out. The bedside lamp was not working and the lights are so dim, you can definitely not read at night. The bath is nice and big, but to wash and rinse your hair is difficult, there is no separate attachment. The faucet in the basin sprays everywhere except where it should. The photo of the view is very deceptive, we looked out onto a dirty ceiling. On the bright side, the parking in the garage was a huge plus and the breakfast was very nice. The latter was delivered to the room. I will definitely not return to this guesthouse and their prices are totally overrated.

First impressions count. We didn't have a booking but we were given a warn welcome as though we had booked unlike most places where they just chase you away over the intercom.

The entire place was clean and smelled fresh. We booked the raindrop suite which has a great view of the dam and mountains. We enjoyed the beautiful sunset on the deck directly above our suite. The staff is very warm, welcoming and friendly. They live onsite and they go out of their to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Breakfast was scrumptious and well presented.

Access to our garage is just off an alienated road which feels a bit unsafe at night as you wait for the garage door to open.
We have stayed at many hotels before and the service at this establishment surpasses many 5 star rated hotels and B&Bs.

I will definitely return. Thanks for such a great experience.

The photos you'll find online for this hotel are not totally misleading, but more just that they were taken when the place was obviously first done up, and it's not been maintained very well. The outdoor deck area is a little shabby and not all that inviting, after all. And they don't even serve lunch despite the suggestion of being able to enjoy an afternoon sitting on the deck and enjoying the view of the harbour. But the rooms were very well made up, with a really great bathroom with a huge jacuzzi bath. But the reason I'm rating this place as "poor" comes down to this... when we went down for our breakfast, we found a pokey little breakfast room and chose the only table close to the window with a bit of a view (very poor design of where this dining room is!). But the lady serving breakfast had the TV just above our table on, and blaring loudly, and it was on a very religious sermon show. We thought it was very inappropriate for her to be subjecting her guests to this type of experience whilst they're trying to enjoy their breakfast. And she did not turn it off, or even the volume down, the entire time we ate our breakfast. Absolutely ghastly, and weird!
