We were a bit disappointed in the stay as we were in room 20 which has got a view to the swimming pool, but at night when you are trying to sleep the bar at the swimming pool is just not a good idea for someone that would like to sleep before 12 at night. I just couldn't bare the noice from the bar when trying to get some sleep.. Not a good idea.
Another point that wasn't good is the shower is terrible! Warm water comes out very little at a time, so no nice warm shower before going out or going to bed.

Decent service, from the friendly receptionist
Couches covered by sheets which gives a very slummy vibe
Overpowering room freshener smell which is unpleasant.
Hard beds made for an uncomfortable nights sleep
It serves it's purpose. However I'd not be back in a hurry

All comments are aimed at room 8. Initially I was impressed with the lodging, clean and tidy. However, the couchs were dirty, and merely covered with checked material throw. Crockery was chipped. Quoted price was R1350,00 but once I queried having paid only R1800,00/weekend on my previous visit, the price dropped to R900,00!

We booked a family weekend away in December at Palm Valley Inn. On arrival we were quite happy with our choice. Nice large apartment. The problem started the first afternoon when the kids wanted to go and have a swim. The Sundowner Bar next to the pool were filled with intoxicated revellers which we quickly figured came off the street to drink there. We saw this with our own eyes as the access gate is situated right next to the pool so we saw how the security guard allowed external visitors in off the street to come and drink at the bar. This was in direct violation of the establishment's own rules which stipulates that 'no day visitors' are allowed. I complained to the manager who promised to have them removed which he promptly did. So we went down to the pool with the kids and had about 10 minutes of peace and quiet before the people off the street started filling up the bar area again. This happened every afternoon of our four-day stay. The long and short of it is that this makes the environment not only unsafe but also very unfriendly to women and children. If you are looking for a safe, relaxing family getaway look elsewhere.

My husband booked a one night stay for us at palm valley in as we had a function near there, thinking that it was a good deal because of the nice photographs on the internet....BOY were we surprised!!!The pictures you see on the internet look nothing like the rooms (At least not the one we got!!!) The couches in the living room were covered with ugly cloths...when i lifted them they were stained all over and absolutely horrific!!! The decor (if you can call it that) was utterly tasteless and although the place was 'neat' it really didn't feel all that clean...:-(. the aircon was broken on a hot summers night, and needless to say we got absolutely NO sleep in that place!!The pillows were too puffy and very uncomfortable. They mention a 'private' garden...but the garden is not private at all...it's got a small little gate that anyone can come through and even watch you through. I really felt a bit unsafe there, and the security guards are not at all alert as they should be. This place charges alot of money for very little comfort and ease...so in my books, absolutely NO value for money...

So the 3 bed we booked was spacious and that was great but it was firstly not on the correct floor. I specifically asked for a unit upstairs and I was abruptly told at check in stage that they reserved the ground floor for us.
This would have not been a big deal if the unit wasn't so dirty. The bathroom was so bad we had to call in only to be told that the cleaners have left already. The lady at reception then came to pour detergent in the toilet and flushed- as if that's sufficient.
Next was the WiFi, or rather the lack thereof...the password we were given just didn't work, and nobody was bothered enough to try and help us connect.
Last surprise was the bugs on the bed! Altogether not a great experience, wouldn't go there again.

This was not a good venue for a holiday. It is basically a cluster house complex with a few rooms for guests. Photos were extremely deceptive!!

The room was dirty, the couches were stained and filthy, when we went back to reception, the staff fully expected us and gave us the cleaner room without even waiting for us to show them. They said the started cleaning couches etc and didn't get to our room. why would they give it to us in the first place?? unknown....

Although there were small fan heaters in the guest house, it was freezing and there were no extra blankets provided (except the thin duvet) because it was 'self-catering'.... and no mention was made of this in the booking form.

We visited Palm Valley Inn over the weekend of 5 - 7 February 2016. Once you reach the Inn, you feel a bit underwhelmed as you realise the type of area that you are in. Perceptions aside, we proceed to check-in. We were pleasantly surprised with the interior however, looked nothing like the pictures we saw.

The rooms are out-dated and the technology isn't up to scratch either. We were explicitly told not to play any music, which surprised us as we were there for a birthday weekend for one of our friends. We did not find the equipping of the unit particularly helpful. The air-conditioner was not effective in the large space. The dishes were inadequate and utensils in need of replacement. The fridge struggled to cool our drinks which didn't help our perception of the place either.

Coupled with the fact that 2 couples had to share 1 bathroom which did not havea key to lock the door, it didnt bode well.

The bar was a nice touch though, overlooking the pool however not enough pool-loungers for all guests.

All-in-all, the accomodation was not bad if you are looking for the bare essentials. For what we got, I think the place is quite over-priced. We paid R2900 for the weekednd or 4 people.

I suggest looking at other places but if you are only looking for a place to sleep, this is not the place.

Good luck

I'm sure this use to be a 3 star but we felt that it isnt anymore, broken and dirty shower, very dirty walls and couches covered with piece of material to hide dirty marks.
Noisy neighbors and dogs across the road kept us up.

Set in a good area with a convenience store close by. you will need transport to get to a restaurant. Rooms are clean but clinical. This is a self catering establishment but breakfast can be arranged in the form of a voucher for a Wimpy breakfast. There is a well maintained swimming pool. Parking is in a secure area with access control
