Dissappointing. We travel A lot & have lots of experience. My dealings with Russels I had to call 3 times for email confirmation of booking and to pay. Never received anything. The WiFi not working there. The remote control for tv batteries flat. The bed linen sadly was full of dust around the side with a solid mark had not been used for ages so not refreshed. The worst of it was opening the bed there was so much black hair all short curly hair 😱😩 it was my fiancé and I first night away this year after tragic start for us. I had to clean the bed, in fact we slept on top of linen in our clothes. I did briefly tell them about it. As Iam not a complainer . But we still stayed for breakfast at extra cost not being included in the price of room. No complimentary coffees. No apologies. Just Thanks for feedback. I was truly hoping for a better experience

I am so gratefull that I caught this special in their newsletter. The experience started with the reservation call where the lady I spoke to was sure to make me understand that our comfort was truly her first concern. And boy was I surprised. We were hosted in a spacious room with a view of the Port Owen yacht slip. The rooms were spacious and the bed, very important for people taller than 6 feet, was also spacious and comfortable that even I did not have my feet hanging off. As a person with a disabillity I could also use the bathrooms. When the cleaning staff udnerstood that I might have specific requirments because of my disabillity they did not hesitate to provide somethihg extra to make me feel safe. We had one discomcerting conversation with a new manager, but the staff more than made up for that. The staff there is proffesional, friendly and more important made me feel like a valued guest. Our meals at the hotel's reastuarant and their sister restuarant Charlie's Brewhouse was off the expected quality.

Our room was on the first floor of the hotel and was very noisy. Groups of people from outside came to visit the hotel and were very noise on the front stoep of the hotel. There was only a dry wall between us the the next room, therefore you could here the conversation next door. In our previous visit to the hotel , we stayed in the annex part of the hotel, which was recently converted to selfcatering units, which are more expensive to rent. These rooms were wonderful and very quiet. When booking try to stay there, although more expensive. We shall, in future only stay in the annex. The staff were wonderful and looked after our every need. The food was great ans well prepared.

I was looking for a place to relax and enjoy the evening Russels turned out great I stayed in The Kingfisher suite and must say it was well appointed and perfect Dinner was great , the food and service good The staff do go the extra mile A group was having g drinks on the deck below my room and were very jovial. But it never bothered me as they soon headed off to dinner Breakfast was a tad disappointing as there was no selection of cereals and the usual buffet to choose from was missing However my egg and bacon was great The staff called me 5m after I had left to advise that charger was left in the room Thank you Leandra

We went to Russells on the Port with some friends to celibrate an anniversary. It was such a perfect experience that we would like to go back soon. The staff were so friendly, it looks that they enjoy working and that alone makes us, the guests, feel at home. The rooms are beautifully decorated and their is a lot of privacy. Everything was very clean and the lady in charge, Danika, gave us a lot of personal attention, which makes us feel very privilege. Worth a visit.

This is a favourite place to eat but earlier this week I needed accommodation and am now delighted that I choose to stay at ROTP. My telephone reservation was handled politely and efficiently by the ever-present and gentlemanly Enver. I arrived (just!) in time for dinner as the kitchen was closing but was not made to feel rushed. Later I was shown to my room in the adjacent guest house. Modern, spotlessly clean, and with one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in for a long time. A lovely north facing balcony overlooking the marina, and a sliding tinted window meant I could sleep with the window half open but not be disturbed by the dawn. All the staff are clearly committed to delivering customer satisfaction and this makes staying here a delight.

Our stay here was absolutely stunning. Clean, beautiful sea views, amazing food, helpful and kind staff. A member of staff by the name of Enver was most accommodating and made our stay enjoyable. Thank you Enver and thank you Russles on the Port! 😊 Definitely returning soon!

The first impression arriving at a total disorganised reception area was totally overshadowed by the rest of my experience. The rooms on the first floor had big balconies offered beautiful views of the Yacht Club and canals of Port Owen. The rooms and bathrooms were perfectly furnished and cannot be faulted. However, I have noticed that some of the rooms did not have air conditioning. The restaurant was an unbelievable experience. The friendly staff served us promptly with exceptionally prepared and enjoyable tasty food. Compliments to the Chefs and Restaurant staff.

What excellent staff. Nothig was to much to ask. They phoned to let us know that they have a function on and the restaurant will only be serving pizzas. But when they heard we were gluten intolerant, they had no problem accommodating us...and the porkbelly was an excellent choice! I forgot my memory phone pillow in the room - they offered to courier it and within 3 days I received it. The hotel is part of the yacht marina and beautiful setting for sundowners. If more attention is given to the interior of the room and bathroom, it could be a top rated hotel.
