We booked and paid for the hotel in January and halfway through our European Road trip we had some terrible news from home. This meant we had to cut short our road trip and return home immediately. We managed to cancel and receive refunds for four of the five hotels we had to cancel. The only hotel to refuse a refund was the FunKey Hotel! We would not of cancelled unless absolutely necessary and were really disappointed that under the circumstances the hotel would not even consider a partial refund. Shocking customer service and very harsh treatment in very sad circumstances.

Located in a quiet residential area. Smorgasbord of games. Great hotel if you are checked in with young kids. Do note that there is no elevator. As such lugging a 50 pound piece of luggage up and down a spiral stair case is definitely challenging.

Philippe Thibaut, a hotel employee attacked my child, physically pinned him against the wall and lifted him into the air. The child was in a state of shock. I think this is not normal behavior of a hotel employee. The location is good, but we have not experienced this kind of behavior in any hotel.

Excellent! Very clean, fun, good location, free parking, and free snacks during the whole day. Staff is really nice and the building is very cool. No elevator but this is no issue if you are travelling light as you should. The games at the lobby are so cool and they have a secret special games area which will make the kids and some adults go crazy.

We had a great time here. Our 3 year old loved the toys and colorful floors. Breakfast was simple but good, free parking space. Definitely worth a stay and great price-value. I would stay again if back in Brussels some day:)

A stunning place for family trip!!! The hotel is really warm and bright with coloured atmosphere and shiny staff. It is unquestionably clean and comfortable. It is quite at night and you have a huge opportunity to have your rest after round trip in Brussels. In the morning yiucan have your perfect snack: always crispy bread, different types of bacon and cheese, high range of fruit, fresh squeezed juice, bottles of milk, Belgian famous chocolate variety, pleasantly smelling coffee and tea. You can enjoy your breakfast in the colourful aisle accompanying yourself with delightful music. Funkey hotel also provides a fantastic corner for every guest: new published books, mind-training games both for adults and children. The staff is hospitable and fabulous, sensible and kind. There is also good Internet connection, however, it stops working in upper rooms and the only minus is that you have to go downstairs in order to be able to make a steady calls via Internet. By the way, you are completely safe in this hotel, as every door has its special lock. I'll definitely check in this hotel for my next trip to Brussels, Belgium!!! Thanks for my unforgettable days spent in this hotel:))

A concept of its own. "Living rooms" never were better called. Games, drinks, books, ... freely available. Very welcoming staff. It's something above a hotel, a new concept. An experience to share with friends and/or childs.

My husband is a professional magician, and we typically go on a lecture tour as a family of 3 each summer. Unfortunately because COVID we weren’t able to do that this summer. Over dinner the other night, we were chatting with our 8-year-old son about his favorite place in Europe from our tour in 2018. We went to 8 countries and stayed in so many hotels. His first response was Belgium! The cool hotel we stayed in (The FunKey), the carnival down the street, and the Magritte museum. We hit all the hotspots in Europe and this is the best memory he has after 2 years. I highly recommend this hotel. I’m so grateful for the memories made. Thank you for your kitchen and extensive game selection. Y’all rock!!!

This is a great place to stay and reasonably priced for what you get. It is very modern and funky, the rooms are clean large and comfortable. It is walking distance to the centre and has lots of guides to help you navigate around the area and get the best from your trip. The staff are also really helpful and always on hand. The communal areas are great, more than we expected after reading previous reviews. There is a kitchen were you can make your own food, a continental breakfast is provided and there are teas, coffees, juices and beer provided for free whenever you wish. There are lots of games to play so great for families and also if you want to keep amused whilst having a night cap. Also a nice courtyard area to sit in the sun. The room key is a mobile phone which you can use to make local calls which is great. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Cool & colourful carpets, 24/7 self service of breads, juices, yoghurts, tea, coffee etc. etc. along with FREE BEER🤩🍺..... Even 5*s do not offer such amazing hospitality. What an incredible experience to stay with a group of friends at FunKey! It’s a prefect place for all types of travellers. It appears to be a good mix of a hostel & hotel with big clean heated rooms, having 2-5 beds with private shower & toilet. The lobby area has lots of games & free drinks. The staff was wonderful; appeared like one big family managing the property. Every single person I came across was warm & welcoming. Was totally flattered by their hospitality when they allowed us to have coffee n snacks even after we checked out in morning & reached later in evening to pick up our luggage. WHO DOES THAT? FunKey .... U guys r great! Thank you for an amazing experience. I know where to return in Brussels! 😊👍🏼
