I spent two days at the hotel on business and it’s room appointment and general facilities were modern and chick. I had a room in the 2nd floor and the noise of a private event in their central patio bother me some (late afternoon) but...More
Kimpton De Witt is the first Kimpton hotel outside the Americas, a true debut in Europe. The hotel is situated in the heart of Amsterdam's vibrant city centre and near Amsterdam’s Centraal station. Set ...Morewithin three original Renaissance-era buildings, it features 274 guest rooms, including 15 signature rooms and suites, and eight meeting rooms. Wyers Bar & Restaurant, run by Executive Chef SammyD, offers American comfort food with a Dutch twist. In line with Kimpton’s innovative and playful approach to design, the hotel features a “house within a hotel” – a four-storey ‘Little House’ which was once the childhood home of Dutch playwright, P.C. Hooft and dates back to the 1500s. Other distinctive features include a flower shop within the hotel and a Miss Louisa Coffee & Beignets walk-up window for locals to enjoy. Less

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring
hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

Absolutely. The train was 5-8 euros and 20 minutes.. There are multiple kiosk in the airport. Just follow the throngs of people. You’ll get off at Centraal Station which can get congested as well as the one block to the hotel. That’s why we all agree on not too much luggage.
I took a car from the airport at about 50 euros, 40 minutes ride. Kicked myself when I saw how easy and cheap the train was when we left.
Be cautious with cabs. They only take euros and not all accept credit cards.
