Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.

The staff where lovely and really helpful upon their knowledge of Amsterdam, the rooms where just what you need , our room was small but that wasn’t seen as a con for myself and my boyfriend as the room was clean fresh and gave us an overall great base whilst we adventured out ! The tram stop is a 1 min walk and I would 100% recommend buying a ticket from the hotel we found it a great easy way to get around ! There’s a lift aswell so you won’t have to face them daunting steep stairs that are known throughout Amsterdam! Would stay here again even as a solo traveler as it was in a very safe part of Amsterdam!

The hotel is a little ways out of the main tourist location but is in a very nice upscale neighborhood. The hotel is nice and modern and very clean. There is no A/C in the room but there is a fan. We woke up sweating in the middle of the night and had to put the fan in the window to cool the room off. I’d definitely made a huge difference having both windows open with the fan blowing but it also meant the window shades had to be open with a giant spotlight outside our window. I need very dark at night and had a hard time with all the light. The breakfast is great, lots of good high quality food. It is in the basement with no elevator if you have a hard time with stairs. Just a short walk from the hotel is a great shopping and food area. It’s definitely full of locals at night and tons going on. We really enjoyed being somewhere where we felt like there were less tourists. And, there is a food hall a short Uber ride away called Foodhallen. They have a craft beer bar and most every type of food you can think of. It was a lot of fun.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We are happy to know that you had a pleasant experience and we would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks for your kind words about our location, breakfast quality and overall high standards. However, we are sorry to hear that you room was not entirely to your expectations. While we are happy to hear that the fan helped to make your room more comfortable for you, we regret this issue with the outside lighting and we wish that we had been informed of this matter so that our team could take the necessary actions. Regarding the elevator, we do have a second elevator for guests who have mobility difficulties. Please ask our reception team for assistance. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Best wishes, Frank Boekhorst, General Manager

We booked this hotel online because of the great location and good reviews. It IS within walking distance of the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. However, I would recommend NOT staying here during summer months. The hotel has NO air conditioning. They had one table top fan in each room, aimed toward the bed. We tried having the window open for some cooler evening air, but the noise from outside traffic and the restaurant across the street kept us awake, as well as the heat. Also, the closet is the size of a broom closet --- big enough for an ironing board and that is about it. Although we had prepaid online for our room, upon check in they charged us additional fees (can't remember what for). This hotel might be okay for a one night stay, but I would not recommend it for any longer stays.

Dear Guest, We would like to thank you for taking the time to let us have your feedback. We are thrilled that you had a pleasant stay with us and that our location was ideal for your needs but are sorry that your stay was not entirely to your expectations. We do offer different room categories and sizes to suit different requirements and our reception team is always available to help with choosing the room best suited to your needs so please don't hesitate to ask for their assistance. While it is true we do not have air conditioning, we do provide fans and most guests are satisfied in this regard. \However we do understand that this can be subject to personal preferences and we will certainly take note of your feedback for future improvements. We can only assume the extra charges you mention would be for the city tax imposed by the local authorities and which is always paid directly to the hotel. This is generally clearly stated on your booking confirmation. We do hope that you will return for a more enjoyable experience in the future albeit at a cooler time of the year. Best wishes, Frank Boekhorst, General Manager

I stayed in this hotel at the end of August 2019 when there was real heat in Amsterdam. The hotel itself is nice: good location( close to bus stop to/ from the airport, close to the famous museums, and you can reach all the main touristic objects by foot), friendly staff, good breakfast...But there is no air conditioners in the rooms and it was so hard to sleep when its hot outside. The ventilator which was in the room is useless. So I cannot say that i spent good nights over there. Besides i had ants in my room near the window and in inbuilt wardrobe... Summing it up i will not stay over there again...maybe its better in colder time, but not during hot summer days and nights:((

When we arrived the hotel appeared to be nice and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately, it all went downhill from there. The hotel rooms were very small. Beds shoved up against the wall. No air conditioning at all and we arrived in 110 degrees Fahrenheit. They provided an 8 inch fan to help cool their guests. We could not stay due to the stifling rooms and the amenities provided to cool the room. We checked out and have now been trying to get our prepaid 4 night hotel stay refunded. I don’t expect the 1st night refunded but the other 3 should be. DONT BOOK THIS HOTEL.

No idea of cost, but the bikes were parked out the front when we were there. The receptionist was excellent, she will be able to help you. Good luck.

What bus do I take from airport to get here to Hotel Cornelisz ? Is there Uber ?
The bus would be my first choice. So easy and very convenient, but just a word of caution, according to the time of day, we had to purchase the tickets at a booth, airport side of the road.

What time is check in? My flight arrives at 8:00 AM
It's a 20 minute transfer on the bus. Do not get taxi as they charge you about 50 euro. You pay about 12 euro on bus. When you arrive at hotel the room is ready for you
