Detailed Reviews
We stayed at for 7 days over the christmas period and have no complaints for the money that was paid.
The room was basic, but had everything that was listed on booking.com and did the job of providing us with a place to lay our heads whilst visiting family in the area.
A real plus of lodge is the outdoors space, with lots of brais, pool, and mini golf all available and a beach in walking distance. Being able to use the space meant that it did not matter that the room was fairly small.
The real bonus to this lodge however is the Italian restaurant underneath, which served good food with even better service.

We recently spent a weekend at this venue, situated just off the R102 near Port Shepstone. On arrival, we were quickly checked in and shown to our room, which in this case, was one of their self catering units. The room was neat, clean and contained everything that was required.
What is nice about this venue, is that even though it can be self catering, the premises also contain a small but very good Italian restaurant called Casa Mia, thus giving one the opportunity to order off their menu or to sit down therein. Aside from your own fully equipped kitchen inside the unit, there are also braai facilities outside overlooking the river and the Lodge also has a sparkling swimming pool.
The premises are conveniently situated to a multitude of other attractions in the area, especially a wide range of pubs, restaurants and other places of interest.
Good venue well worth a visit. When booking, you can request for either a self catering unit or non self catering. In need, they also offer a great breakfast at an additional cost.

After a long search for an exit from the N2 to Lake Eland Game Reserve (we kept ending up on impassable gravel roads that were supposed to be the access road to Lake Eland), we gave up our plan to spend three days there in the spectacular landscape that promised adventure and pure nature, especially since it had already become dark. We therefore drove on to the coast and found The Tweni Waterfront in Port Shepstone, whose restaurant was already closed, but where we were able to stay overnight - albeit not exactly luxuriously - before continuing on to Ballito the next morning. The room was not very inviting, it had a fridge, kettle and coffee cups, but the bed was uncomfortable, the ceiling light didn't work and the ceiling near the window was moldy.

This unit was not to my satisfaction, there were ants in the bedrooms and kitchen.
The ants in the bedroom nearly got into my kids ears due to the fact that it made an ant trailer form the plug point into the bed.
Furthermore there is very limited cutlery and no braai utensils at all.Cleaning services needs some attention as well.
we had the caretaker down our throat , if we wanted to policed we would have rather stayed at home, i mean it was new years eve and everything seemed ti be a problem.

Great location, but The Guest Lodge needs to be cleaned, lockers we smelling of something I can’t even begin to explain. The micro wave was not properly functioning. On our first day, they gave us dirty white towels. There was no security, outsiders would come dine and drink alcohol on the premises!

This place advertise so nice, but in the mean time it really is not. The rooms were very un neat and we had to get someone to clean the showers because is was black of the mold. The floors were so full of sand you could not walk bare foot on it. There is no heater or aircon to speak of. The DSTV is pathetic and only had selected channels. Never in our lives again thank you.

It was a pleasant stay. Loved the location of the accommodation, centralized.
Good ocean view. Property is fairly secure but could do with an alarm system.
Maybe it needs a pool in the front yard. But the ocean is close enough. Just my thoughts.
Overall good stay.

The accommodation was perfect for our family and was exactly what we wanted. It was neat, clean, well kept and a short walk to the beach. It was a simple booking process and good value for money. I would recommend this place.

The Staff was so excited for our stay and very friendly. Made us felt right at home from the minute we stepped into the reception. Room was clean, beautiful and cozy. We could even see the sea and the sunrise. Place was easy to come and go as we pleased. Gate was user friendly and the parking was save. Even at the Casa Mia Restaurant we had a great time. Food was delicious, affordable and waitresses friendly.
