Colin and Lynn are very friendly hosts. Great 3 course dinners and very good breakfasts served with fruit, cereals and a variety of cooked options. The bedroom was a very generous size and clean and comfortable. Quiet and removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. The only negative is that the hot water for the shower had run out on day 1, but learned not to oversleep!
We travelled to Newcastle with my family for a weekend, and booked Aberdeen House. On arriving we were pleasantly surprised by how well equipped our 2bed suite was. The service is of the BEST standards. The hosts Lynn and Clive were very warm and friendly, really made us feel at home. The value for money is amazing, in fact you will want to pay more! THIS SHOULD BE A 5*****.
Cant fault it! Clean, comfortable, good sized bedroom with self-service facilities. REALLY friendly hosts who generously invited us to share their huge TV to watch the 6-nations matches. (Always helps to be a (retired) rugby player in South Africa!) Lovely gardens set far enough outside the centre of town to be quiet but close to local shops. Easy to find with sat-nav. Excellent breakfast. In all - thanks for a lovely stay ! (Wish we'd thought to book dinner in advance!)
Aberdeen House reminded me of home. Its a great place with lots to offer. The big suprise were the sherry in the evening. What a good gesture. Dis not expect that. Will defnitly go back there with my next vissit to Necastle
We arrived tired after a drive from Johannesberg to a very warm welcome from Colin who with his wife are the proprietors of this lovely place. We had a room with double bed, a generous sized bathroom with shower over the bath. There were all the usual add ons like shower gel, soap etc. Many items were well thought out and more than expected. The following morning our traditional cooked breakfast with sausage, egg, beans, tomato etc were well presented and tasty. It was a pity that this was only a stopover on our way south otherwise we would have enjoyed a longer stay.
