Lovely place to stay. Customer focused staff and lovely rooms and gardens.
The kitchen staff make lovely food.
There are some nice places to visit in the area.
Lots of birds in the garden.
Not far to get to shops if you need something.

Firstly I am not a fan on guesthouses and bed abd breakfasts but this was recommended to my mother who booked via the internet - needless to say I was very sceptical... Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised.. we booked 3 rooms and they were just great.. very very clean.. everything in working order...and beautiful surrounds - see the pictures attached.. breakfast included is not average american breakfast but simple cereals, eggs, fruit salad, yoghurt, toast all available.... my family and I loved it.. price was reasonable too R350 per person per night sharing and R450 single... I would definitely stay there again..

Wow what an amazing gem in Newcastle! In addition to being super affordable the rooms are gorgeous and staff like Richard go out of their way to give personal and friendly service. Breakfast is plentiful and good quality. Guests have the freedom to come and go as they please. Amazing tranquil setting and close to the major shopping centres and casino. No way I will ever stay anywhere else when visiting Newcastle.

Check in was fine team extremely helpful despite my late arrival.
The room was ok and functional as well as spotlessly clean.TV had what I needed but no wifi regrettably and that's always a let down for me.
Breakfast could be a lot better and was rather greasy however the team was incredibly friendly and diningroom was clean ,however better coffee should be available please

Our stay in Arbor was brilliant and very peaceful. I can recommend it to anyone who wants a peaceful outing. The room are very good and tidy. The only area of concern is breakfast. If they just add some variety on the breakfast things will be more than 100 percent. We had a fantastic time.

We booked in for a nite on 30 May 15. We were a bit apprehensive at first but when we check in we were amazed. Beautiful room - spotlessly clean room and bathroom. My only suggestion is a shower curtain as the water is all over place when u are done. Other than that we loved our short stay.I would recommend this place to anyone and will make use of the guest house again when in the area.

I stayed here on a quick tour of Newcastle.
Absolutely heart warming welcome and excellent service.

I was lucky to get a room here because most of my friends tried for booking earlier but it was always fully occupied.

I took a wooden cottage and ohhh glory!!! I was stunned by the good bed, well kept and arranged linen, beautifully smooth pillows and lush blanket. Beautifully simple interiors, very good heater, a mini fridge and tea/coffee kettle. All made me feel at home.
A nice sleep, early morning shower and beautifully tasting breakfast was all I needed more before my next long drive ahead. And I have to say this beautiful home away from home fulfilled all to perfect expectations.

A nice Lapa with a cozy pool in the background will be a good thing for summers and some spice added for relaxed evenings I am sure.

Overall, a very good stay in Newcastle.

Tip: Making early reservations would be helpful as this place tends to run out of rooms.

I visted the town of Newcastle in Kwa Zulu Natal Midlands area after 30 years. A bit apprehensive about the area i booked a quaint little guesthouse in the area. Needless to say it more than exceeded my expectation. Rooms were neat and tidy. Gardens were perfect. Meals good and the staff were just billiant. Well recommended to travellers out to the Midlands of Kwa Zulu Natal South Africa.

Newcastle, South Africa20 contributions
Of course paying GUESTS can come and go as they please - as was explained to you - our Rates are charged PER PERSON and not per ROOM - So if you wish to have Guests staying over with you - you need to pay for those Guests - Unfortunately so many people try to only pay for themselves and then sneak xtra Guests in to stay and not pay. Our policy is NO pay NO stay - Our Business is to accommodate Guests and for that you have to pay - I hope this clarifies your Question if not please ask the staff to explain it to you again. As you know you have your own Room Keys and your own Remote for the Gate - your question almost sounds like we restrict the movement of Guests coming and going as they please ??

"Rooms up to 6 are in an inner circle that is on the garden. The higher number rooms that we staid in 8 and 10 were nicely laid out and big. The beds there were very comfortable."
