Lovely, clean place. Breakfast is great, room serviced daily. Food portions generous. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice piece of nature, enjoyed watching the bunnies at dusk. Other wildlife as well. Nice hiking trials.. I enjoyed my time there.
only stayed the one night as part of our tour, what a beautiful location. the room was small but very comfortable . we had a evening meal in the restaurant which was very good, the breakfast was buffet style and of very good quality , the grounds and the walk around fantastic
Spent a short family getaway at this awesome lodge.we were lucky to have a sneak peek at this great team prepare this beautiful venue for wedding... breath-taking.great walk/run trail. Super delicious resturant for supper. Definitely recommend the lamb chops and shank. My kids really enjoyed the expansive play area. Well worth a visit and revisit.
We stayed here for a friend's wedding. The premises are huge, beautiful and child friendly. Loved all the rabbits, chickens and horses around. The room was comfortable and clean. Loved the fact that we had two point plugs on each side if the bed so that you can charge your phone next to the bed. Breakfast was nice with a big enough variety. On the downside we only had a double bed in the room. Wi-Fi codes did not work and you are limited to 500MB per user. There was no hairdryer in the room. The bathroom is really old and can do with an upgrade. Towels were also small and thin. A nice venue with lots of potential.
We went specifically to have lunch in this beautiful setting. The service was really good and we enjoyed the food. Our party had homemade pie, quiche and carpaccio salad. It was fresh and very tasty. There is place for children to play, albeit it is in the sun.
We booked 4 rooms in one booking and our rooms were not all together. Two rooms did not have showers, only bathtubs with a handheld shower. The free Wi-Fi worked for only a few minutes and then never again.
If you’re after a bed and something to eat when you’re far from home, then this will do just fine. Not a destination in its own right by any stretch, but I don’t think one is spoiled for choice in the area.
From the outside and based on other reviews, Grey Goose sounds like a luxury place to stay on a budget. There’s plenty of entertainment options available at the lodge. They have a lot of potential but lack finesse. I woke up covered in bed bug bites and the room was a bit stuffy when we arrived. And speaking of arrival, we waited about 45minutes to be greeted by someone. The reception was closed and the website does not provide you the space to say at what time you’re planning on arriving. And, to top it off, no one was answering the phone or cellphone number provided. Also, the guy who greeted us wasn’t very friendly. They also got our names on the booking wrong but only after saying we had not made a booking 😐 Breakfast was very greasy but they have a decent variety of food choices. I wouldn’t stay here again …
What a pleasure it is to stay at a Lodge where you are treated like you are special. From the first minute we arrived, everyone was smiling and the service was out of this world. We will definitely make this our permanent stop when in Newcastle. To the management, thank you for an excellent stay
well presented, comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast, beautiful gardens with added pleasure of ample space for walking, running or just breathing. I enjoyed the wild life and it is close to everything in Newcastle without being surrounded by city noise. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it... it is the place to be!
