we stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and overall it did not disappoint - it's location on the hills overlooking Lake Geneva ensures that one gets the most spectacular and breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains from the bedroom, terraces and form the pool. The service is exceptional and the food of the highest quality - it is very much a traditional hotel and the decor throughout demonstrates its grandeur - however I do believe that there is certainly a need for some updating , in particular with regards to the bathrooms which are a little stuck in the 70/80s . I do believe it is perfectly expectable to mix the traditional with the modern and when it comes to hotel bathrooms , I do believe that for 4 start hotels , the amenities offered should match the prices being charged per night. The traditional shower in bath is very outdated (and not particularly safe) and now most hotels offer modern walk in showers with rainfall heads - if a bath is provided this should be separate from the shower. The size of the bathroom is more than adequate to be upgraded to a more modern but stylish spa like bathroom which could still be perfectly suited to this hotel - a change in the toiletries should also be considered as Yves Rocher is also somewhat dated . location of this hotel is also ideal for getting out into the mountains or into Montreau as the station and vernacular are a mere 10 minute stroll away…
The personal spirit and the tradition of quality has been kept up in all the years I have known this hotel; the first time I came to this place was more than fourty years ago and I still apreciate the wonderful view and the personal service of this house; and we will come back.
We had an amazing experience. The rooms are cleaned and well equipped, the view is breathtaking, the staff is great. The restaurant is highly recommended. The Victoria hotel is a family hotel. We feel at home
I've stayed here for the second time after 10 years! Still a great old fashion hotel nicely decorated. The ground floor is spacious with paintings, sculptures and many nice decorative items. The view is stunning on the lake and the alps. Had a nice large single room with a huge bed. I was expecting a spa area and fitness, not really, there is an area with a sauna and jacuzzi as well as 2/3 weights and a bike. Very nice restaurant with good food and extensive wine list. Nice place to go close to the nature.
This is exactly the sort of hotel we look to support during the pandemic. A wonderful in the first rate restaurant took us back to a former preCovid era, and then you don’t need to worry about the drive home. This family owned and run establishment seems to have found the perfect niche to survive. The hotel was busy with local couples treating themselves to a restaurant meal. The rooms are perhaps abut pricey, but overall we don’t regret our investment. The staff are friendly and grateful for the custom, as it the patron who walks the public rooms interacting with his clients. A very pleasant walk down the gorge to Montreuil and a ride back up in the funicular helped build our appetite for dinner.
