The Grand Hotel Cavour is a 4 star hotel located in a historic building of 1300 belonged to the Medici family. The structure is characterized by a majestic hall with colonnades and stucco of the time, on the same floor there is our Restaurant with American bar decorated in a cosmopolitan and lounge style where you can admire the frescoes by the artist Galileo Chini. Our rooms, recently renovated, designed in boutique style with fine furnishings, hardwood floors and frescoes that recall the age Renaissance are located on 6 floors and are ideal for a romantic weekend or for those traveling for business. The upstairs rooms have breathtaking views where you can admire the Palazzo Vecchio, the ancient Torre del Bargello and the Brunelleschi's Dome. Each room has a set with a kettle with coffee and tea, minibar, LCD TV, free WiFi, safe and hairdryer. Our suites are very spacious and can easily accommodate a family group or your honeymoon. On the sixth floor you will find our wonderful Divine Terrace where you can enjoy our cocktails and treat yourself to the most beautiful view of Florence. We offer our guests a small fitness center with turkish bath and 3 meeting rooms. We are in the district 1 in limited traffic between Dome and Piazza della Signoria 5 minutes walking from the Santa Maria Novella train station and close to the major shopping centers and cafes. In front of the hotel there is a loading and unloading area where you can live your car and park it with valet service in nearby garages.

Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.

We stayed for 4 nights as a part of our honeymoon. The location is absolutely perfect with everything in walking distance. The hotel was very helpful with booking tours for us and organising hotel transfers. The rooftop bar was awesome although did close for a few days for

A wonderful hotel, centrally located, lovely spacious rooms and delightful breakfast. We stayed in a superior double room which exceeded the rating of a four star hotel. All staff were extremely friendly and happy to help/assist with restaurants, sightseeing and general

The pictures don’t demonstrate the poor and dirty condition of the rooms in this establishment. There are fresh air dispensers at most sockets to disguise the damp / drain smell throughout the living / sleeping areas. Our bedroom was was very dirty to the extent we were

I booked this as a late deal,so I expected the room to be smaller but I have to say that it was a good value room for the cost. The view from bar amazing and staff very attentive throughout. Breakfast plentiful and Kettle in room a plus for us tea drinkers! Would come back

Loved this hotel! Best staff I've encountered on all hotels I've stayed in. A little off beaten path though so will have to taxi to main Rome touristy areas. There are many sites to see nearby though.

It’s only a ten minute walk right passed the duomo, but the taxis are not expensive and will drop you outside the front door

Sorry for delay. I do NOT represent the hotel, so have no idea about junior suites. The double room in which I stayed was small, even by Italian city centre standards. Breakfast was served till 10.00. It was an ample European breakfast buffet. I believe it would be possible to ask for eggs made to order, but am not certain.

There are about 13-14 stairs. Well lit and easy to maneuver. The roof top bar is fantastic. Great view and even better staff!!

I would imagine the temperature of the room would be perfect based on our summer experience and the luxury afforded. I also would think the rooftop would be glorious in the fall! Do check with the hotel to be sure......enjoy!
