This hotel is beautiful, with gorgeous views and rooms. The staff went out their way to give the best experience and hospitality. If you are after a few nights of luxury I would highly recommend! The restaurant is also one of the best in Taormina. Breakfast every morning was a special treat. Loved our stay!

Hotel's Favourite
Splendid gem of a hotel in a perfect sea-facing position yet within easy walking distance of the elegant town centre. Plenty of character, as you would expect from a property that has been in situ since the 1860's, and there is a good blend of contemporary and established decor throughout to give a unique boutique feel. Architecturally interesting too; the tiny reception is at the foot of a small ornamental tower located at the elbow of a road junction whilst most of the residential part of the hotel is then built into hillside tiers giving unobscured Mediterranean views. We were in the comfortable Garden Suite which felt very private and secluded tucked away at the base of the main building. We appreciated the ample sun terrace and also the smart, stylish and roomy lounge. No external noise at all so we slept like logs in a very comfortable bed within the compact bedroom. We would also endorse the rather special marble bathroom with its eye catching mosaic sunken bath - an all time first, although we tended to use the capacious shower. As suggested by the name, the suite overlooks the small but verdant garden with easy access to a crescent of double-size canopied sunloungers. A tiny swimming pool area is even lower down and must be quite wedged during high summer. We had a rather a trek for breakfast each morning across the garden and then up a sloping path to the side of the hotel before going up three floors in a lift, but it was well worth it. The panoramic rooftop restaurant is lovely, there's a commendable range of ever changing foodstuffs, and the service is brisk and attentive. Best part for me was the pastry stand; swoonsome connolis and on, a good day, droolworthy chocolate covered doughnuts. I've had withdrawal symptoms ever since. The staff in the hotel are all superb - the friendly and welcoming reception guys, the jolly manager, the efficient restaurant team, the diligent cleaners and the responsive valets. In terms of parking, our rental car was delivered and taken away immediately each day as a matter of urgency. In the evenings, it's a gentle walk into town past the communal gardens and within minutes you are falling over restaurants even before you get to the main Corso Umberto. A few years ago, we were stuck in a hotel up in the hills reliant on a minibus to get in and out, so it really is far better to be in the midst of the action. As you walk in to the town you'll pass the Carlotta Apartments which, just from looking at the lobby and cross-referring with the website, would certainly be our favoured option for a future stay. So, we highly recommend the Villa Carlotta - to the extent that we wouldn't even bother to look elsewhere when back in Taormina.

My husband and I have traveled extensively in Italy over the years and almost always include coming to Taormina for it's beauty, culture, and history. We discovered Hotel Villa Carlotta several trips ago and keep returning for it's ambiance, great service, and welcoming staff. The views from the top floor dining area reveal vistas of the Ionian Sea and one can watch the day end with the lights coming on in the community of Naxos below. Romantic! The beautiful public gardens, Villa Comunale di Taormina, are nearby to enjoy. We are always welcomed back by the staff, reconnecting in a way that feels like arriving home. The hotel has always had the highest standards for cleanliness and now that's even more important so felt comfortable in our room and throughout the hotel. We will be back before you know it :-)

Wow how soon you forget the beauty of Taormina and Villa Carlotta, it has only been two years since our last visit but everything was just as before. We again enjoyed great hospitality from the amazing staff. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. Our breakfasts on the roof top veranda were just magnificent looking over the Ionian Sea. The staff was very helpful with our daily itineraries, they made each day special. We are already looking forward to our next trip to Taormina and Villa Carlotta.

As the other reviews say, this hotel is AMAZING. The views from breakfast are stunning. The room itself was spotless, unique (the closet was an armoire with a vintage key), and above all, comfortable. Also probably one of the best bathrooms/showers I’ve had at a hotel EVER. The location is super convenient and walkable, had no issues getting to/from town or Isola Bella. Everyone was very kind and helpful towards me! I hope to visit again soon!
