Our arrival at the hotel Ariston started with an horrible misunderstanding which lead to an argument with one of the staff guy with a very poor English (didn´t keep the name); this person was really rude and impolite but everything was solved when a nice and helpful guy called Francesco appeared and fixed the things giving us a room update that was really amazing because they gave us a very nice room with a breathtaking view that made us forget the unpleasant situation caused by the first person who attended us.

Pros: the hotel has a private parking at the main entrance; the breakfast is really well served with a variety of different breads, fruits, cheese, juice, etc. The room is really clean and nice, the bed is very comfortable and soft with clean and soft sheets, the toilet has a hot tub; there is a wonderful restaurant inside the hotel with tasty food and affordable price, it really worths once you pay to eat in an 'all you can eat' buffet for the dinner time (not sure if it is the same for lunch); nice range of wines and drinks which is paid separatelly from the buffet price; besides the arrival incident, the staff is helpful and speak a very nice English, specially Francesco and Jessica.

Cons: the website should be improved specially to explain for the guests how the parking lot works and where people should park their car depending on the season, once it was said it´s differerent for each season.

Have just returned from a weeks stay, and can highly recommend.
I hope our experience and review will help others.
We had booked via TUI and all inclusive, after reading a couple of reviews here we were a little apprehensive but kept an open mind.
The hotel is situated behind Taormina bus terminal so very central to explore, there were no noise problems from busses day time or evening. A short walk to main town of Taormina.
Reception staff very efficient and friendly, quick check in and happy to help with questions. Pre arrival reception had arranged for a bottle of bubbly and fruit to be in our room as was our 25th Wedding Anniversary. This was very much appreciated.
The room was facing the back (404), if there was the option to upgrade we probably would have done to enjoy the sea views, but hotel was full. This wasn't an issue for us as the room was always cooler as the sun not direct into room and we were not spending all day in there!! There is a mini bar is in the room, this is not part of all inclusive package, but tea and coffee making facilities were available. The room had everything we needed, was cleaned everyday, it could do with an upgrade but was perfectly suitable for our needs. If you like a firm bed you will love it as it is very firm!!
Swimming pool:- as others have said it is very deep and no shallow end, noodles are provided, but if young children using pool a floating vest maybe more appropriate, there is a small poolside bar and towels available. There was no access to the pool area until 09.30 which was good, sunbeds were available after breakfast and no early reserving!
Finally, All inclusive and food:- what can I say apart from amazing.
Breakfast, a buffet full of everything you need, pastries, fruits breads, hams, bacon and eggs, the coffee machine was a bit hit and miss!
Lunch at the grill a varied menu, table service, no buffet. Very competitive prices with other local eateries.
Dinner - A la carte menu or 'specials' menu. All table service, The food was amazing and looked great, washed down with a bottle of local wine even better!
The service by Giuseppe and his team was fantastic, very attentive, and never once felt that because we were all inclusive that we were treated differently.
We did show our appreciation at the end of our evening meal, just like we would if we were going out for a meal with table service. (if it was buffet style All inclusive I wouldn't)
If we were to visit Sicily again we would definitely choose this hotel again for service, staff, location and food.

We arrived by car, slightly hairy trying to navigate the directions but were lucky to get a space in the hotel car park. The hotel can advise you alternative parking if you need it. Polite and charming staff, lovely views from the restaurant, bar and pool. Lovely buffet breakfast which had a vast array of food choices. If you have to leave very early for the airport, as we did, inform reception and a smaller range of breakfast foods can be made available to you before you go. There were a couple of things which let this hotel down for me, given that it is 4 star rated, no wi-fi in the rooms only public areas, the shower screen was so small that the floor was quickly soaked after a shower so resolved to bathe instead! The bathroom wasn't as clean as I would have expected and I'm not that picky but I think my expectations had been higher than usual owing to the grand appearance and rating. We usually stay in small places more carefully cared for by the owners. I appreciate that it is different in a big hotel. We could have asked for another room of course but for 2 nights when you arrive exhausted, who can be bothered. It was otherwise absolutely fine, and the wi-fi would not have been a deal breaker, it was just something we had come to expect. The location is great, close to the beautiful streets of Taormina and the views gorgeous. So, in summary this is a great location if you get a good rate, the room we had felt a bit tired and dated but was fine, comfy bed, the breakfast is impressive and the staff helpful.

A pleasant stay on the whole, but with several annoyances along the way…
The largest being the four stay rating this hotel advertises, which was probably awarded in the mid-80’s and has managed to cling to due to its brilliant location, views and exterior appeal.
The interior design doesn’t appear to have been touched since the last renovation which I can only assume took place again, in the 80’s. The hotel is tired to say the least, from the bed linen to the table cloths.. it is in desperate need of renovation.
Our room was spacious but tatty and terribly laid out, the most significant stand out’s were the old (and smelly) bed lined, sagging mattress, paper thin walls (to the point where we could hear everything our neighbours were doing)
When we arrived, our shower tray filled with water immediately due to it being blocked, the aircon didn’t work and when we asked for this to be fixed, we were told the hotel doesn’t actually turn the aircon on until June… JUNE! It was 27 degrees on one of the day’s during our stay in April.
The breakfast was one of the worst hotel breakfast’s I have ever encountered… nothing more needs to be said on that front.
On the plus side, the staff were friendly and helpful, the pool area well maintained and location-wise great for a short walk into town with access to the cable car.
I wouldn’t be staying here again.

After booking and paying for 10 nights at this place in January, we were treated terribly by them. After checking several times that they would be open on the 26th July, our first night, and that being confirmed, we received a message on the 22nd, not even addressed to us, to say that they would not be open until the 29th. They did not answer the phone so we booked alternative accommodation until the 30th. They then accepted a booking from 30th July to 5th August. on the 26th July, they canceled our booking with no reason given. Shockingly amateur service with no care for the customer. Avoid like the plague !

The grounds, pool area, views and outdoor bar are stunning. We loved the location - just 10 minutes walk into town and the Amphitheatre and 5 minutes to the cable car. It was also a real bonus being so close to the bus terminal - door to door on the bus from the airport to the hotel for €6.50! Plus perfect for hopping on the bus to visit Castelmora for a few hours. Also worth noting you would never know you are right by the bus terminal the minute you step into the grounds (it’s not very busy or noisy!) All in all we loved it!

An hours ride from the airport in a taxi, stunning location, we opted for B&B , good variety, bonus was freshly squeezed orange juice, pool doesn’t open till 9:30 always got a sun lounger at this time, not enough umbrellas for shade. Pool is deep all round , floats are provided although limited and beach towels. Restaurants in town was hit and miss , we found the best settings did not always mean the best food , try the ones just off the town. Very expensive. If you love the beach this is not the place for you, very stoney and surrounding sights not the best a lot of shops shut down due to covid maybe ? Bar and pool staff not very friendly, decor was a little tired, there was some negatives for us but this did not spoil our holiday but we probably would not return. Too many nice places in the world to see 😉

A good value hotel with excellent service from the waiting staff, especially in the evening. As other reviews have stated, the hotel is a little dated and would benefit from a simple makeover to bring the rooms up to date. But the hotel is clean and the food is good. We were half board which we were glad of as eating out is expensive here. The hotel is well positioned for the cable car to the beach and the bus terminal. There are many steep hills and steps so do not come here if you have mobility issues. The staff need to improve their system at breakfast as there were many tables piled with dirty crockery and staff were slow to refill the self service buffet. Having said all that the food was good, the hotel position was excellent and the staff were friendly helpful and attentive. It was very hot in July so I would recommend September if you wish to do more sightseeing

I highly recommend this hotel, good location, just a short walk to the town which is full of shops and restaurants although we went all inclusive and dined from their excellent a la carte menu, the food is delicious. The staff are wonderful, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The pool, surrounded by lush plants is large and sparkling, lots of sunbeds. The rooms are a good size, clean and very comfortable. Hot powerful shower. Excellent WiFi {none by the pool}. If you have mobility problems stay in the main building as there is a steep hill from the other rooms to everywhere else, there is a lift if you can't manage the steps.
In short, a lovely hotel, wonderful staff, delicious food, great location, comfortable rooms, excellent WiFi.

We stayed at the Ariston mid August.
We found the staff all very helpful and pleasant at all times.
We ate at the restaurant on our first evening and the meal was a fantastic tasting menu of locally sourced fish and meat.

Our room was clean and the AC worked well, only small gripe was we heard a lot of noise from our neighbour and what appeared to be the water tank refilling after the toilet was flushed.
Superb view though out over towards Naxos.

The pool was also wonderful, always managed to get a sunbed and it was very relaxing indeed.
I would say though, small children might find it difficult as at it’s shallowest it is still 2.4m going to 3m at it’s deepest.
Pool noodles are supplied though!

All in all, we loved it at Hotel Ariston and would not hesitate to stay again if we are in Taormina.

Yes the pool was open in November so I would imagine it will be open then, it is quite large. You can access the cable car to the beach a short distance down the hill from the hotel, a 5-minute walk. The cable car takes you down the hill to the lower part of the city.

Everything to do with Taormina is on your doorstep. One day with went exploring on our own and went to ampitheatre, gardens, squares, found lunch etc. Another was a morning cable car down to Isola Bella. We took the hop on/off bus up to Castlemole and our main day out was to Etna and Alcantara Gorge - we used Enta People for this full day trip and they picture you up from the bus station right next to the hotel. Don't miss out on the viewpoint - out the hotel, turn right and walk for less than 5 minutes. You'll find it, and there's a lovely cafe right next to it.
