Liked - Nice views over the sea front, pool isn’t cold and we found it easy to get a sun lounger. You can walk through an underpass to get to the seafront, where there is a small pier with more sun loungers where you can access the sea via some steps. There’s no sandy beach, just volcanic rocks, so you have to access the water via steps. Cash machine nearby and some small eateries, lots of food vans which are popular throughout Catania. There’s also a mini supermarket next door to the hotel which is good for fresh cooked meats, salad etc as well as essentials such as mosquito repellent and bite cream (you will ). Disliked · Expensive considering it’s a 1990’s style hotel out of town (30-45 min walk). Staff don’t go out of their way to make you feel comfortable or welcomed. Quite surly at times, as if they’re doing you a favour by serving you. Despite our best efforts at speaking Italian, they were still curt and abrupt. Air conditioning is very noisy, the temperature is controlled centrally so you have to ask at reception if you want it cooler and it isn’t really effective overall. Impossible to sleep with it running. The pool area closes at 6pm and you are asked to leave a few minutes before this. During our stay, the pool area was used for private functions meaning it was inaccessible to guests. One night it was a disco and karaoke until midnight so if you had a sea view room, you weren’t able to sleep until that had finished. Satellite TV but no international channels, not even news. If I visited Catania again I’d stay somewhere more modern, welcoming and closer to the town centre. …
Great location. With easy access to swim in the sea. Very comfortable bed and great staff. Nice to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
I spent two days for a vacation trip with my family. The bedroom is too small for the family, the balcony door does not close easily and the shower cabin is too small for an average size person. Very uncomfortable. The restaurant has very restricted dishes and the attendants are not polite.
The staff was excellent. Clean rooms! Attilio and Giuseppie we’re especially accommodating. Rebecca, Alessandro, Francesco, Giovanni and Sylvia we’re friendly and helpful! The solarium is amazing. Swimming in the Ionian Sea was a thrill of a lifetime!
We stayed for 4 nights, horrible - the circus outside the hotel is very loud and noisy, plying music all night until 2 pm. The service is poor and hotel is old. There are some larger parties which get all the attention, no value for families.
