The hotel is located in an old building that‘s been modernised in a very elegant, modern, full-of-light design. The rooms have a/c, tv, fridge, hairdryer and are functionally, yet elegantly designed. The breakfast was served according to a menu (Covid19-related) with countless options. The staff in the restaurant as well as at the reception was very kind & helpful and spoke quite a few languages. The location is practical with train/bus station and city centre in walking distance. Upon arrival the floor in my room and bathroom was covered in strands of long black hair. But this was cleaned up instantly when I informed the rexeption.

Besides being a well rounded hotel, the breakfast was great with Antonio as the server. Antonio went above and beyond, and he communicated Italian/English translations perfectly. A great breakfast to help start the day of exploring Sicily.

We finished our trip in Catania and the Hotel Romano House was our last hotel. Our experience was wonderful. Nice rooms, good breakfast, very beautiful style, like a modern roman villa or palace...but the best part were the staff. Specially Iacomo, the guy in the frontdesk. He talked to us, gave us tips for our time in Catania, resolved in an astonishing way our issue with the Covid-tests....All the things that you expect in a hotel staff, and more.

Modern stylish hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean. 2 little negatives: one of the light switches in the room wasn’t working, but more bizarrely there was some kind of mesh that was used to cover up the window, which I think was to stop people looking in, but looked more like some junk dumped outside the window. Breakfast was very good and well managed given Covid restrictions. A QR code on the table shows you the large variety available and the waiter brings it all out of the kitchen for you.

The hotel is clean and nicely furnished, both the public areas as well as the rooms. The staff is super helpful and also entertaining (e.g., Antonio at the bar) - we felt really welcome. The breakfast is great - they have a lot of choice, and the americano will wake you up even if you slept badly. I would definitely choose this hotel again when in town! There are only two small downsides: 1. The street is quite loud, which is of course not the hotel's fault and you can always close your window. 2. The maximum water temperature in the shower is a single degree too cold for my taste, which they cannot change for some reason either.

Room Tip: I would guess that the rooms not having a window towards the street are more silent, if there are...
