For a first visit to Venice you might want to stay closer to the crowds and main attractions. For every visit to Venice after that, Giudecca is a great choice. You'll get to see the quiet side of the city and get a sense of...More

The room was really nice. When I go again to Venedig I would go to the same hotel. The hotel is perfect locatet. It's away from the tourist and you also have only a few minutes with the boot to go to san marco.
A five-minute vaporetto ride (okay, maybe 10 minutes, tops) across from Venice is the island of Giudecca, where you’ll find Hotel Giudecca a five-minute walk when you get off the boat. Clean, comfy rooms, great boutique bathroom, phenomenal water-pressure in the shower, friendly service, and...More

Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh, Guidecca, points away from the others – part of Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal. Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and factories to a quiet residential area with a sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic
harmonious Redentore church stands as thanks for delivering Venice from the plague, hosting an annual heartfelt festival.

We asked about how late the Vaporetti ran when we were at the hotel - they do run all night so you should be fine getting there late - they just don’t run as often after about 9.30pm. You can get a no2 Vaporetto from Piazzale Roma to Palanca - hotel is 2/3min walk from that stop.
