I have stayed in a few mid-range hotels in Venice, and the Hotel Bel Sito is by far the best of them.
It is very well located equidistant to San Marco and the Rialto, and has the S.Maria del Giglio vaporetto stop close and handy.
The Alilaguna boat stops here also, which makes it very convenient for coming from or going to the airport.
The front desk staff will arrange tickets for you if you desire.
There is also a water taxi berth abutting the canal-side of the hotel, which is also extremely favourable for guests arriving that way.
My single room was small, but very cute, but equipped with everything I required.
It was beside the canal, and it was fun to hear the banter and singing of the gondoliers as they went past.
Breakfast is continental style, with a wide range of fare to choose from.
The terrace outside is a great place to relax with a drink and watch the world go by.
The staff were excellent without exception, with ready smiles and tremendously helpful.
I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is an excellent choice,it has lots of character, the location is fantastic, so central and completely quiet at night, the staff all very friendly and polite.
Thank you for the upgrade and the beautiful large room overlooking the Campo, the church is right in front of the windows - magnificent. There is everything you need, the bathroom is excellent, stylish and very modern, the best rainforest shower ever! It is very clean, white quality cover in beautifully patterned fabric on the bed and nice Venetian style touches in the bedroom and the hotel in general.
Thank you also for serving very good breakfast in a beautiful setting including healthy vegetables with olive oil Mediterranean style and wonderfully tasty and good quality hot chocolate and cappuccino. I noticed the real silver cutlery, tea and coffee pots.
The bonus of the Chorus card is a nice gift to the guests.
A special place in Venice.

We spent four days in this hotel with our friends and family, as we hosted our wedding reception in the nearby Palazzo Marin. The staff has been truly amazing: very kind with our toddler and supportive and welcoming with our requests. Location is very central - 5 mins from San Marco, 10 mins from Accademia, and can be conveniently reached from the airport or the train station with alilaguna linea arancio (giglio stop). The hotel style is typical venetian, and it can be reached directly by water taxi. The hotel even has a tiny outdoor space with some plants where guests can have breakfast. Very highly recommended.

My wife and I visited this hotel during our visit to celebrate our 1st Wedding Anniversary.

We arrived in Venice 2 hours early than the check in time and was glad to find the hotel offered a bag drop service as the room was not ready yet.

Check in was easy and straight forward. Our bags were then dropped by a staff member to our room.

The room was very small, but then we booked this hotel based on our budget and the location. Which a 5-7 mins walk to the main square. The bathroom was an okay size, however the shower was very narrow, we would keep knocking against the shower dial and switch it off while showering. Else the pressure was good and water was a good temperature.

No iron in the room and the hotel only has 1 iron for the hotel, so you may not get it when you want and will have to wait. Once we got it, we ironed all the clothes we wanted for our stay. I suggest bringing a travel iron with you. There was no kettle for in room tea/coffee, however I did see one outside another room, so maybe can be requested.

Apparently it is a thing in Italy that hotels turn off the AC/Temperature control in rooms in Ocotober and then regulate the whole hotel centrally. The room was hot and little stuffy when we arrived so requested a fan and they kindly delivered one to our room.

The breakfast which we bought at an additional cost while booking was lets say at a 3star standard or even less. Variety was limited, the best thing they have is the pancake maker as they are made nice and warm. The ommlete was cold and just not nice, the staff said it was made the day before and put in fridge before being taken out the next day, not sure if that's a thing in Venice, but it didn't appeal to me at all. Plenty of warm drinks available, we had tea, cappuccino and Americano.

Staff were friendly and kind throughout.

City tax was paid during checkout which was easy and quick. They accept card payment.

We booked a private water taxi ourselves from the hotel to the airport for €20 cheaper than booking through the hotel, still was expensive but was a nice experience.

My husband and I had an overnight stay here last week. We had visited before and were pleased to return.
The Hotel Bel Sito is in a great location in a small piazza yards away from the vaporetto stop. As my husband has mobility problems this is ideal for us to reach other parts of the city.
The hotel is comfortable and sympathetically furnished and decorated in Venetian style. A room at the front of the hotel provides a nice view if the piazza and beautiful church.
The hotel is not adapted for wheelchair use but the staff were very helpful in assisting us and it proved not to be a problem as my husband can walk a little way.
Breakfast was good. Items from the buffet had to be requested and were served by the staff.
Hygiene measures were high and the hotel spotlessly clean.
As previously we had a lovely stay and our thanks go to all the wonderful staff who were very happy to assist us. No request was too much trouble. Thank you very much.
A wonderful hotel and we recommend it.

The hotel is a long vaporetto ride from the bus station but a great location once you arrive with a short walk from the Giglio stop and two stops to San Marc. The hotel has aged a bit but has that nice Venetian ambiance. The staff were all very nice and helpful. My room was a nice size with a comfortable bed and there was a/c and wifi. The breakfast selections were varied. During this time of Corona we couldn’t serve ourselves so stood behind a rope while they got us what we wanted. We all wore masks. I highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel is literally a 2 min walk from the Water taxi stop. This is important because there are no stairs/little bridges to navigate with your luggage to get to the hotel. And don't be afraid of the water taxi! It was actually pretty convenient and you can pay for your ticket on board! It is a direct line so you will not need to transfer anywhere if you are trvaeling to the train station/ bus station.

Now...if you like the charm of old rooms and having to use a key, you will love this hotel. But I'm realizing I'm a bougie American and need bright rooms with modern fixtures. If you look too hard you will find things that will bother you but I was only staying for 2 days so I just focused on the positives of the room. Shower was hot, AC worked tremendously well, TV had the channels we wanted (BBC/CNN in English)

Hotel staff was also extremely friendly! The hotel also has a it's own private gondola entrance. I recommend just going to one of the stops though and picking one up there, BUT not the stop closest to the hotel. It will be very crowded. Walk a little further and you will find another one with no line.
Pro tip: Just pay for one alone. It's 80 Euros but worth it so you can take pictures freely from both sides of the gondola and not worry about navigating around people you don't know.

Overall hotel was fine but I just like more updated rooms.

For an extra very reasonable cost (approx. $40AUD each) my friend and I had a much more comfortable and convenient, centrally located 2-night stay in Venice than at a 16-bed dormitory Youth Hostel. We highly recommend Hotel Bel Sito to back-packers as an alternative to Youth Hostels.

In a word, FABULOUS!! From the moment we arrived the receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. All the staff throughout our stay could not have been more helpful, from the waiters at breakfast to the maids that cleaned our room. The room itself was very clean and tidy, with everything you need, from clothes handling space, large mirror and enough sideboard area to put items on, the only thing missing perhaps was a kettle and coffee/tea making facility. The bathroom was a little on the small side however, the fixtures and fittings were of a very high quality and the shower was excellent. The room we stayed in in overlooked the beautiful church opposite and the piazza next to hotel. The breakfast selection was continental style, with plenty of choice from cereals, fruit and hot items all of great quality. The location from the hotel is very central to to all the usual sights, St. Marks Square to the Rialto Bridge. The hotel could not have been two minutes from the Vaporetto (water bus) stop of S. Maria del Giglio which is very handy especially if you have suit cases etc. Thank you for a great stay!!

We loved Bel Sito. The location is perfect especially because it requires only a short walk from/to a waterbus stop, which is important for arrival/departure. Unlike many hotels in Venice that are tucked away in narrow alleys or placed in the middle of commercial areas, this one is on a nice little quiet square with a gorgeous baroque church and a restaurant, and it's just away enough from all the touristic commotion (but still very close to all attractions). Plus, the Academy bridge is very near, and it's one of Venice's best view points, so don't miss it!
Our room was small, but adequate, and we truly appreciated the view to the square!
The breakfast was very good. Because of the pandemic, the buffet had to be handled by a staff member, and that was perfectly fine. The breakfast area is beautiful, by the way!
The hotel has a few curious features that add to its character, like the internal court with plants and sculptures or the back entrance facing a canal, with an occasional gondola floating by.
The staff were wonderful, everyone was very nice and did their jobs very well. A staff lady even dressed as Befana on January 6, and it was great to see this display of the holiday spirit!
