Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

Stayed here a few weeks ago for 3 nights. Great hotel but difficult to find.....right off of a main walkway by the Realto Bridge. Nice quiet location and clean hotel. Budget friendly and worth the price. The breakfast is enough and the staff was amazing !! Decent size room

Hotel is a little tricky to find but once you know your way you'll realize how close you are to everything. The rooms are simple but have everything you need if you are just looking for a place to sleep. Santina was very friendly and helpful!

We just stayed one night in Venice - recommend just taking a backpack, and not dragging suitcases around. The location was excellent. Very quaint, clean and the staff was very pleasant. A little worn, but it all added to the charm we thought. And we found a tiny bar restaurant

Hi there - Its easy to get to the Cruise terminal from the hotel. A 5 minute walk to Ca D'oro Vaporetto stop and take No 1 to Piazalle Roma, it's the last stop. Its a 5 minute walk to the people mover that takes you to the cruise terminal. We've done it, quite easy. Suggest you stay in the annex, the room we stayed had a safe.

You can park at tronchetto parking, the hotel offers a reduction on the price. Than you can reach the hotel by vaporetto; line 2 to piazzale roma, than line 1 to ca' d'oro.
