The Corte dei Greci hotel having a really exclusive location is the best solution for people looking for a stay near St. Mark Square and its treasures such as the Doge’s Palace , St. Mark Cathedral and the Bridge of Sighs. It is as well an ideal point of departure to reach all the most important historical places such as the Accademia Gallery, the Peggy Guggenheim collection , the Fenice Theater, the Miracoli’s church, San Zaccaria’s church, the Ca’ D’Oro Palace and also the main conference centers (San Giorgio and Zitelle) and the pavilions of the Biennale Art and Architecture in Venice.
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.

This hotel has great location, walking from San Marco (7'). Staff for a very touristy and snooty Venice was really kind and helpful. Rooms are spacious but a little oldish. Breakfast is basic but nice.
Great location , so close to St Marks square and helpful , friendly staff.
We had a canal view room which was lovely. The breakfast area is a little small but the timing of breakfast was quite generous so was never crowded.
The hotel has extremely reduced common areas no hall and a tiny breakfast room. Rooms are reasonably big, a bit outdated, and quiet. Extremely helpful and kind staff. Location is perfect: very close to St. Mark Square and to the Arsenale but very quiet. Good...More
