Staying in Bergamo for a month and yesterday, I had no place to stay. Don't ask. It was a bad day. Looked at hotel reviews on this website, called the hotel and thankfully got a room. Francesco was extremely kind and helpful. The place is clean and nice, as is this very comfortable room. Very comfortable bed and pillows. The breakfast this morning was a wonderfully laid out buffet, and they made me scrambled eggs to boot! But really, the staff makes this place great. Its Sunday today, and my friends are picking me up tonight. So following check out, it's a long day with heavy luggage and no where to be. But wait! After explaining my situation, They graciously are allowing me to stay in my room until I'm picked up. They were packed full last night and it was explained that housekeeping wouldn't be getting to my room anyway till much later. Im sure they cant do this all the time, but they could today and I am extremely grateful. I couldn't have landed in a better, cleaner, nicer, more welcoming situation. Petronilla staff, thank you. You make this hotel great.

This hotel is small (12 rooms) ideally located to explore Bergamo, both Alta and bassa citta. I cannot say enough about the warm welcome and friendly service offered by the Petronilla team. Truly genuine and simpatico. The hotel offers a very complete breakfast, with fresh fruit, and various breads and pastries, as well as breakfast meats and eggs. The hotel’s decor is eclectic, so best be aware that rooms are not furnished with stock pieces you would expect in upscale hotels. That said, nothing was missing in the room - large bathroom, robes and slippers, water and snacks, minibar, etc. We had booked a studio room with a balcony, which ended up offering an unappealing view.

A wonderful small hotel in the heart of Bergamo. We stayed for three nights to join a wedding in Amenno San Salvatore. Thanks to the location in Bergamot and good driving service we also could enjoy beautiful Bergamo between parties and ceremonies. Every morning we walked up to the old town, so beautiful and nice exercise. The owner and her personnel at Petronella are so warm, happy and helpful and you get the feeling that you are the only guest although I am sure it was fully booked. We never got a now answer, everything was possible. One big, colourful bunch of flowers to Uta who speaks at least four language, she is always happy and warm and drive the hotel in a superb way. The breakfast in the inner garden was a moment to enjoy. Everything worked so well, the room was clean and the hotel has a lovely atmosphere.

Great location, comfortable room and amazing staff. Personal care by the hotel manager and great breakfast.Unfortunately very noisy, during the day due to a construction site and at nights from the nearby bars and restaurants.
