Detailed Reviews
Stayed at the Albergo delle Spezie for nine nights to explore the Cinque Terre and surrounding coastline
We were made very welcome by the owner / manager and assigned to a spacious and comfortable room with the suggestion to relocate FoC to an even better room after the busy weekend, an offer that we accepted
Breakfast was served in a quirky inside or outside area, depending on the weather and personal preference, and was a good mix of cereal, fruit, breads and a toastie, plus tea / coffee of course, see attached picture
The 'Inn' doesn't serve other meals but there is a wealth of choice literally on the doorstep. Its location is a few steps away from the bus stops along the front and around fifteen minutes walk up to Centrale station, so handy for both the Cinque Terre rail line and Portvenere / Lerici / etc. bus routes
The room move (bar the contents of the safe of course) - managed by the hotel, despite our assurance that we could do it - was waiting for us when we got back on the Monday and everything was sorted. Our rooms were serviced perfectly and there were no oversights
In addition, I have to say that the hotel management went out of their way on two or three occasions to make our stay memorable and, not least, to rescue what may have turned out to be a mess up on our part in re: the bus routes and timetables. We were very impressed and grateful for that extra kilometre
Net-net, an excellent and memorable stay; thanks to all :)

+1
Small bed and breakfast (it doesn't have much of a hotel) in the center of La Spezia, the location is certainly the strong point of this accommodation, together with the breakfast offered which is quite complete (although a buffet breakfast would be more appreciated).
As for the room, however, it was very small, with an unusable window as it looked onto other houses, minimal furnishings (tiny wardrobe, completely ruined wooden desk chair that risked ruining clothes if placed on top, next to the bed 'there were two wall lamps without bulbs...) the bathroom was dirty, as was the room, there was dust on most of the surfaces.
Furthermore, it was very cold in the room and there was no way to control the temperature;
A further flaw is the complete lack of soundproofing of the rooms, we could hear all the sounds coming from the other rooms and from the reception (including the doorbell, the water drain etc...) we woke up at 7.00 on Sunday morning with the doorbell...
Personally I think that the prices offered are too high for the services and spaces offered.
The staff however was very friendly, especially the girl we checked in with.
I recommend improving the ruined furniture (toilet seat and chair), offering at least one shampoo (in the shower there was a dispenser without labels) and also offering a bottle of water at check in (a practice that is carried out in all the hotels I stayed in).

Perfectly located in the middle of the city (everything reachable by foot), very nice and helpfull staff and our room had AC and a very nice and clean bath. Because the windows are new it is also quiet at night even though you have restaurants and bars really close by. They do also have a big nice terrace where you have breakfast or can just relax. There is also an elevator. Unbeatable price for what you get, I would recommend it to anyone!

If you have a young and adventurous soul this hotel is for you! but if you expect the comfort and service of a traditional hotel after a long day touring Cinqueterre, I do not recommend it. For starters, 5/10 location, even though it is close to a pedestrian street with a lot of nightlife, it is not close to the train station, so, when you arrive after being all day walking through Cinqueterre you find that you have to walk 10 more blocks to your accommodation. Rooms 6/10 are not very large, in a room with 3 beds the bathroom door could not open well and the lighting very poor. However, we can not complain about the cleanliness, everything very clean and change the towels daily. Attention 8/10, the Albergo is staffed by its owners who are very gentle and attentive. Breakfast, 7/10 plentiful and gluten-free, but you should stick to the owners’ schedules, which can be changing.

We went to this albergo this august 2021 and we had a real bad experience there with his owner. The hostel is well located and rooms are clean, that is why I give them one star, but the rest was a complete disaster.
The day before we arrived they sent us a message telling us that the air conditioner wasn’t working and that we could book somewhere else. We understood it and never complained.
But the owner was not this understanding with us. The day we were going there, our flight was delayed and so we lost the train that should’ve brought us to la Spezzia. Therefore we ended arriving there at 22h. We sent a message to the hostel as soon as we could to let them know that we were late, and their answer ar first was that we should look for another place to stay. Obviously in august and at 19h pm it was impossible to find any other place to sleep that very same night. We told the owner that we could not go anywhere else, and then he agreed to wait for us only until 22.30h for 20 euros plus. We agreed. Arrived there running and suffering and he told us to relax and that we had bad vibes… we were worried to not be left on the street!
Then they never served the breakfast with plates… we had to eat it puting things on our napkins.
Breakfast was served until 10am. Well, on our last day we arrived at breakfast 10 minutes before 10am and in very bad manners the owner told us we could not have breakfast, only coffe (breakfast they serve has nothing to be cooked). The day before, a couple arrived at 10am to breakfast but the owner never told them anything like that, they had breakfast normally. I don’t know if the different treatment was because we were young women.
Finally when we had already checked out, the owner sent us a message saying he would charge us 5 extra euros because the water of the breakfast was not included (which he never told us when we ordered it). Oh, he finally discounted the 20 euros plus for the late check out not before asking us to express gratitude to him. Very rude…
I had never recieved a treatment like that… totally disgusting!

Were in the evening around 17:00 by car on the outskirts when the hotel called. Are at the hotel in about 15 minutes, everything iO. Luckily they found a parking space in the parking ban about 30 meters from the hotel. So quickly to the hotel and asked for parking. The hotelier then told me extensively that the hotel is in the pedestrian zone and you better not come by car. I also didn't want to park in the hotel , but in a parking garage. I got the answer, a ticket is cheaper than the parking fee. So back to the car and unload the suitcases. Suddenly the hotelier came running up and announced that he doesn't have a room for us, the hotel is OVERBOOKED.
Note: We booked 5 months before with confirmation, the travel price was also already debited. He then only told Booking.com that he is overbooked, and pays the cost difference to an alternative hotel, but he has not tried an alternative, we should do that ourselves.
NEVER AGAIN!

The staff is very rude, hates peoples
We arrived to the hotel (45 past the checkin at 20h45) and even though we we’re in contact with the staff through booking during the day; they never said anything about the time of arrival ( bad intentions) , we were late for them and didn’t want to listen. Everyone was sold out, we had to drive one hour to Genoa for a Hotel. RUN AWAY.
But we’re gonna take legal actions.

A stone's throw from the centre, located in a street with little traffic and therefore quiet, very kind and helpful owner, large and very clean room. You enter through a small door and from there the unexpected and wonderful hotel opens up, with a satisfying breakfast. Good starting point for visiting the area.

Great location close to the harbour, in a relatively quiet street. The decor is very charming, the staff are super friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is healthy and good. There's even a terrace to eat outside.

The streets around the hotel are all a pedestrian zone. We arrived by train, then took a cab to a few blocks away from the hotel. There may be parking along the water a few blocks away.
Hello,
There is an elevator to the hotel. The hotel is entirely situated on the first floor.
