Detailed Reviews
Stayed here through a recommendation from a friend. Staying for just 1 night as a pass over to Pisa from Turin.
The initial price of 30€ a night was certainly the most expensive I have had in Italy so far so was expecting big things !!
Got there before check in and was allowed to leave my bags in storage until check in or in my case till I return from my trip to Portofino.
When I return to check in and get my room, I was tired and ready to almost hit the hay. Being in the 21st Century everything is online on an app and so was this place… unnecessary in my opinion.
There was an app I had to download and use as my key to the room again… a code was another option which I had used in other hostels but I will admit having the Bluetooth phone access is handy unless you loose charge or forget your phone !
The facilities are wide and large, a common area of seats where a bar / cafe is upstairs there is a massive kitchen for use of guests. Which added is lots of free food… yes I said it FREE food !! I was as surprised to see this in any hostel bit they had simple items of pasta, fruits and vegetables free of use as well as any left over pieces from other people. There is also a laundry room on the first floor !
My room was on the 3rd floor, 3 stacked bunk beds was definitely a new one for me, cram them all in !! I unfortunately had the top top bunk, being 6’4 this was the most comfortable as an early alarm wake up or sudden awaken at night your head is going straight to that ceiling… not a mind trying to get into bed ?!
Overall the bedroom was quite fine and I did thankfully get good nights sleep. It is facing busy street so can be busy, so I do recommend you bring ear plugs.
The bar is equipped with cheap enough alcohol and has options of food which I did not try so can not comment on.
There is an outside terrace opposite the kitchen which is really peaceful and nice to chill out in.
Coming here in May, I was not expecting mad social wise but there were an Erasmus group here staying for 6 months so they are around in the evenings.
Overall it is a really nice hostel, Genoa itself is a bit of a wild town which I did not explore but seemed a bit off for my likings.
I would recommend staying here of you do not mind spending a little more !

My girlfriend and I stayed in a double private, the price for what we got was incredible. Huge bed, 2 twin beds, loft & private balcony. If anything, come just to see the kitchen, it’s incredible! It’s bigger than 3 normal kitchens and they are so sweet to provide some food items that you can use for free! The terrace on the 1st floor is pure magic, it’s huge and it has lounge chairs and a little swing….and yes, you can for sure tan up here, it’s beautiful! Last thing I am going to say besides the bar being open 24/7 is, the staff are the sweetest people. They are overly accommodating and just a pure delight to be welcomed by. We had a young gentleman come up and chat with us while we were cooking dinner one night and he offered to show us around the kitchen so we knew where to find everything (even though it’s all labeled accordingly). The sweet young woman who checked us out of our room in the morning was such a cutie, she showed us where to bring our bags to store them in the luggage room and she offered to make us coffee’s and let us hangout on the terrace until it was time for our train!
All around excellent stay, you will not find better and I cannot stress enough how cost effective it was to stay here. We couldn’t believe it!

I stayed in a single room with private bathroom. This place was unexpectedly lovely. Modern, good staff, good breakfast buffet (though note no egg options — but based on my stay in other hotels in Italy, you probably don’t want eggs made by folks from a culture that doesn’t do eggs for breakfast). I only drink decaf coffee, and was alway able to have the bar staff make me a decaf Americano at any time of the day, which they always gave to me for free. There is a large group kitchen and patio area on the 2nd floor which is also very nice. The hotel is keyless, with access to the elevator, stairs and rooms via a 4-digit code. Would definitely recommend to others.

I’ve never been to a more disorganized hostel in my life. My first experience was with Ostello Bello’s Florence location which was absolutely amazing and probably the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. From that to this it is night and day. Every single night a staff member had to come into the room because there were issues & confusion with the assigned beds. Some were cleaned and the others not. I would have been better staying in a cheaper hotel or Airbnb with the price I paid here. Not one night did I sleep well.

Room Tip: Avoid this hostel. For the price, you are better having your own room at an airbnb or cheap hotel.

The Hostel is located very close to the train station, and the staff was very helpful. I arrived a couple of hours earlier than my check-in, but they let me check-in anyways. The hostel has a large kitchen and outdoor area which you can use as a guest. The rooms are fairly large and tidy. Do however note, that your room-key is on your phone, they use an app called GOKI, which means that you need to have a charged phone, before you leave your room.
Overall a pleasant stay!

It's definetely a great place, a must to see and to be location, from all points of view. The staff is very professional, available, careful and welcoming, rooms are big and clean, the terrace is somptuous, a gorgeous place to spend a sunny day, the kitchen is very big and very well furnished, common spaces on the ground floor, breakfast room and living room are very functional and there is also a piano you can enjoy to have fun. Everything is well run and promptly organised, a perfect, confortable place to feel at home alone or with your family. Don't miss out!!!

I stayed in this hostel with my full family of 5.
We booked a 6 beds room and had full support by the welcoming staff to manage rand arrange everything we needed.
The hostel in less than 2 min walk from the train station of Principe, from where you can be connected to all the touristic places around Genova.
All areas are super clean and breakfast is a real deal.
The kitchen is huge and we didn’t have any problem when we decided to stay at the place for dinner.
Hosts and guests are super kind and we had such a good time at the bar area and the terrace.
Unfortunately we stayed just two nights, this place (and Genoa) deserves more time!

This hostel is a real cosy place, because of the bar and nice terrace you easily get in contact with other people. The kitchen is great! You can even use vegetables and pasta for free.
When we didn't felt comfortable at our first dorm, we asked to switch rooms, and this was absolutely no problem. Great service!
Perfect location next to the train station and in the historic city centre.
It's a bit more expensive, but you definitely get more. So it's worth the money.

I had a lovely stay! Even though the hostel is a little pricier than usual, it’s totally worth it.
The staff is super nice, whatever is going on, they’re always happy to help, also very kind if you forgot smth (towels, shampoo etc. - they gave me all for free). If you need any suggestions on where to go, just ask them.
Also a perfect hostel for travelling alone, I met a lot of lovely new people! The hostel also hosted bingo night, quiz night, karaoke night, game night etc.
The beds are a little hard but nonetheless I slept well. Additionally I can recommend the 4 bed room dorm.
The terrace outside on the first floor is beautiful and I enjoyed chilling in the hammock!
The hostel also provides free pasta and vegetables in the kitchen where you can cook your own meal!
Because of all the lovely people I met and how comfy I felt at the hostel, I even extended my stay there! I’ll definitely come back! <3

This is my third time here. First I chose it because of the location. It’s literally 3 minutes from the train station and from the airport bus stop at Piazza del Principe. Also very close to cruise terminal.
Once I tried I liked it. The beds are strong and comfortable with personal light and plugs option. Every room has a bathroom. Not all beds are bunk beds. I was in a room with 4 single beds in now. We can have lots of free stuff, like Americano coffee, free food in the kitchen and toiletries if needed. Also a paid breakfast or take away bag are available.
Everything is clean and well managed. The staff is very helpful and kind.
The only thing I didn’t like was the loud late party on Friday.
Also needs to be aware and be careful as the rooms have 3-4 steps inside.
I’m excited to try their other hostels in Italy as well.
