NH Collection Genova Marina is a unique hotel set in Genoa's fascinating Old Harbor (an area attractively redeveloped by the renowned architect Renzo Piano), just a short walk to the city's famous Aquarium (the second largest in Europe) and the Museum of the Sea.

My friend and I had just gotten off a cruise at 8:00 am and were able to leave our luggage with the motel and go site-seeing since our room was not available yet so early. The lobby was nice and clean, the front desk staff super friendly and helpful. They were so nice to let us go through the luggage and get what we needed/wanted for the day (back pack/ charging cords) and even let us sit in the lobby for a while to charge our phones.
Once we got back from site-seeing the room was clean and spacious. The staff gave us a great suggestion of a local place to go for dinner that was wonderful and was not a place we probably wouldn't have found on our own.
Our room overlooked the marina and it was really very peaceful to sit there and have my coffee while just enjoying the scenery.

Good central place, if you’re traveling to Sardinia by a traghetto, that’s the place to stay. Good size clean, silent rooms. Large new bathroom, with toiletries, good hairdryer, good shower, and a magnifier mirror to make envy!!. The very helpful garage for your car at a “at risk area” is under payment but gives you peace of mind to sleep with your luggage left in the car. The location is quite “at the port” touristic spot. So I would counsel eating at the hotel restaurant that has a good menu at unbeatable prices. No breakfast is automatically included. So pay attention to this when reservation is done.

This was a perfect location for a long weekend away. The bed was very comfortable, the room quiet and spacious and we enjoyed dinner in the restaurant one evening. The only downside for us was that the hotel was very warm. It was nearly 20 degrees outside in February, unseasonably warm but we could get our room below 25 degrees all weekend. At least we could sleep with the balcony door open to allow fresh cool evening air in.

Stayed in this hotel in Feb’20. The hotel is quite old, which is fine, however the cleanliness is below the average. The carpets in the guest corridors are horrible, the smell in the room is not fresh, found hair in the room, aluminium cap from the toothpaste in the inspected room. Was checked in into a twin room, however the king room was booked, the check-in process took 10 min at least, which is unacceptable. The invoice was just printed and thrown on the desk, no folding or envelope was offered. The breakfast was paid upon arrival, however in the morning at the restaurant the host told me that the breakfast is not included!!! The night manager came to the guest restaurant in the morning grabbed 2 pieces of bread.....interesting approach. Thanks God I stayed only 1 night. I hardly imagine what could happen next!

The hotel is situated perfectly. You are more or less in the middle of the port with all opportunities to explore the points of interest there. The room was clean, included a balcony with a view on the port and was very quiet. The breakfast is below what you can expect on that prive level but ok. The Employees are all very friendly and helpful. Nothing to complain. It is visible that the hotel has reached a certain age but everything is clean and well maintained. Comparing it with other hotels in Genova on a similar or lower price level expectations were not met. What was a little disappointing was the fact that we had to check out one day earlier than booked (2 pm) and there was no price reduction. I would consider this as part of customer service to give a discount on a night a guest is not staying in the hotel. Ok, we got the breakfast for that night from the bill but that should be self evident.

The furnitures are really old, air conditioning is from the central it means you can not manage your self from your room. In the beginning we have to pay extra for omelette or fried eggs for breakfast while in the hotel in the whole world those kinds of things are included.They said next year they will do maintenance hopefully will be better. The staffs are very friendly, the rooms need to be up to date.

Not the first time we visit this hotel for business in Genoa. It's a business hotel, good location and nice area (Porto Antico). This time our visit was affected by lots of covid restrictions, but some aspects really turned us a bit off in terms of quality and price. The room (we took a two level suite) was very large, really sad in terms of emptiness, decor and taste. Furniture straight out of IKEA (but from 10 years ago). To get to the room we had to walk (a lot) and this forced us to notice quite a poor state of maintenance and cleanness of the common areas. Staff often busy and not particularly friendly. I am afraid this is not what I remembered from my last few visits and I am afraid it's not the standard NH Collection aims for!

We came in April for 3 days and the temperature in the room was 25C (significantly warmer than outside) throughout the night. Multiple guests complained about this but we were informed that the general manager would do nothing about it at all - and that the AC only comes on from May onwards.
After a second complaint on the evening of the second night they provided our room with a fan, but this did little other than push around hot air.
The other facilities are reasonable and in good condition, but the basic premise of a hotel is that it should be a place to sleep. As I was unable to sleep for three nights due to an easily rectifiable issue which management appeared entirely uninterested in , I cannot give this hotel more than a single star.
I understand that there are issues with this being an “old building” but it is advertised as having air conditioning and we would not have booked a hotel in the mediterranean in April if we had known there was no AC if the weather got too warm.

NH Collection Marina is located right in the Porto Antico. We arrived by car and the Marina parking was full, so it was great the hotel has its own parking. The lobby is wide and with many lounges. Elevators can be tricky; one is only for the first 2 floors, another leads you to service areas; the right one was also the smallest.
Our room was in a corner, with views to the marina, but no balcony. The bed was good, but not exactly a King size, just something in between a Queen and King size. The bathroom had little space for your toiletries; the bathtub and shower were together, and a better handle to get out would be a great addition. The windows have blackout curtains, but in 4 separate sheets, so the light passes through. The main problem is the air conditioned; even though we turned the thermostat to 18C, the room was always warm, even awaking us uncomfortably in the middle of the night.
The room includes espresso machine, teapot, minibar, safebox, hairdryer, but no robes or slippers.

We stayed for two nights and had the most amazing time! Part way through a European road trip, we were glad of the clean, fresh bed linen, bath and fabulous buffet style breakfast as we sat looking out over the port! We parked within the hotel grounds for 40 Euro and whilst the car park was accessible to the public, it was behind a secure barrier. The reception staff especially couldn't have been more helpful or friendly! 5 minute walk to the marina, 10 mins to the cathedral and a long 35 minutes to the lighthouse but this was well worth it! We didn’t use the service but depending on your timing they likely could accommodate your needs. I recommend contacting them direct. Very friendly staff and good language skills.
Unfortunately we did not arrive at this hotel from the airport. You might want to Google the hotel and drop a pin at the airport or call the hotel or email them and ask that question. It shouldn’t be too far.
