In the typical village of Riomaggiore, inside the well-known park of Cinque Terre, in harness with nature and at only 350 mt from the sea, you can found this family-run inn completely renovated. All rooms are provided with private toilets and shower, air conditioning, safe, sat TV, balcony or well-equipped garden. Particularly evocative are the outside spaces in the evening, illuminated by low energy lamps, that create a warm and relaxing atmosphere among typical plants and flavours of the Riviera Ligure. Detailed Reviews
We had expected the accommodation to be basic, with limited facilities in the room or on site, so there were no surprises. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable, but not so much the pillows (not unusual we found in Italy). The shower room was small but adequately equipped, and we had a nice balcony with table and chairs.
Air conditioning in the room was very welcome as the weather was pretty warm and humid during our stay.
There are lots of steps to negotiate so this particular guest house would not be suitable for those with limited mobility.
Service from the one member of staff we met was very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping did a good job too.
Breakfast (arranged at a nearby hotel) was very nice.
Location is at the top of the town but only a short walk (five minutes at the most) downhill to plenty of restaurants - uphill on the way back though!

Simple hotel with quite low standard but still very lovely. The view from the private terrace was amazing and we spent the late nights there drinking prosecco. Sarah, the hostess, was lovely and very friendly. She help out with anything we needed.
They could also offer us parking which was very helpful since parking in Riomaggiore is a nightmare. The location was also perfect. Very happy with our stay!

We arrived by train from Santa Margherita Ligure and you quickly learn that everything except the port is uphill from the
Train Station.
After assessing that our room was closer to the top of town we began our trek with our largish rolling duffles.
We arrived at Locanda Ca after two rest stops to discover that there were more steps up to the reception and rooms.
Fortunately the very friendly man at reception helped us with the bags and got us checked in, briefed us on train and bus schedules, explained the current trail closures and offered us free breakfast for our stay even though it wasn't included in our booking. Needless to say, we took him up on his offer and quickly forgot our uphill battle.
Our room was on the ground floor at the end of the property.
It was one of the largest rooms we have had on our France/Italy trip so far. It had the bonus of a small terrace with table and chairs for relaxing with a cold beer (sold at reception for $2E) + it had a small clothes drying rack attached to the wall. Because we were staying for 4 nights we took advantage of this to do basic laundry. (FYI...there is a small laundromat just down the Main Street)
The room is clean and modern with mini fridge, safe,TV (only
CNBC + Bloomberg in English) and average wifi. The bed was a large double and comfortable. The bathroom was large but the shower was small: Note to management: Ditch the bidet and put in a larger shower.
The breakfast is served in the reception area and is cold continental buffet with hard boiled, cold cuts, cheese, eggs, juice, yogurt, apples, cereals, coffee, tea.
The seating is outdoors or you can take a tray to the room which we did as it was too cool for us outdoors in the morning.
As I said the breakfast for us was a bonus and was much appreciated especially the coffee which was strong and good.
We discovered that Riomaggiore does not have a lot of restaurants with indoor seating, so best to venture out earlier to eat since they fill up.
We were very happy with our stay here and would recommend it as a base for exploring Cinque Terra, just don't make the mistake of arriving with big bags like we did.

Our group of 4 couples stayed 4 nights at Ca Da Iride and we were very happy with the accommodations. All of the rooms were very nicely appointed - good bedding - very nice bathrooms - plenty of space. Ivano, the owner and his grandson, Luca, took very good care of us and responded to any issue or request we had. Breakfast was adequate, tho not elaborate - but there are plenty of breakfast options down the hill into Riomaggiore. Note that Ca da Iride is well up the hill from the train station - we used Roberto (number provided by Ivano) to transport our luggage up to the hotel - very reasonable - 40 euros for 12 pieces. It's about 1/2 mile walk from the train station to the hotel - all uphill - might as well get used to it. And then it's about 25 steps up from the street to the reception area - also the level for some rooms. The mid-level rooms (probably the best value) are another 20 steps up; and the deluxe room is another 25 steps up (this room has a beautiful patio with a spectacular view of the sea - but the room itself is comparable to the mid-level rooms - all depends on how much you want the patio and view. There are also patios at the reception and mid-levels. Riomaggiore was a good location for the Cinque Terre - less crowded than Monterosso or Vernazza. We used the CT Cards, hiked many of the trails, and used both the trains and buses to get around - it was convenient and economical. We would definitely stay at Ca da Iride, if we return to the Cinque Terre.

We only stayed for one night, but wish it were more. The rooms were spacious and very clean with a lovely patio over looking Riomaggiore. The owners are very nice and helpful. You do have climb stairs so pack light! Breakfast is a bit hit and miss, but typical at most places.

Stayed here two nights recently. I absolutely loved it. Firstly it is a basic hotel, if you are expecting something flash.. perhaps you have the wrong place. The breakfast is pretty basic, some pastries and coffee and cereal.
Here is why i loved it. The building feels old but is nicely renovated.. it feels like you are staying somewhere very authentic. I loved sitting on the balcony at night.. its super peaceful and just listening to the town.
The room itself is extremely clean and the bathroom is modern yet small. It has a nice lovely nautical theme.
For those reviewers making out the hill climb is everest.. it isnt.. is it tough with luggage.. i suppose so. But you are getting better view of the magical town yes.
The staff are great , i feel so bad for not spending more time chatting to them.
I would stay again and personally loved Riomaggiore as opposed to other 4 towns. Spend the sunset at the harbour!

We stayed here for 3 nights, great hosts and really well appointed rooms...we can't speak more highly of this hotel.
Be prepared for a walk up the hill through the town of Riomaggiore, but the views are spectacular from many of the hotel balconies. You can arrange a transfer to and from the station also....which we realized later!

Basic accommodation with a good view of the entire town from to top couple of rooms. Owner was friendly and welcoming. Wifi doesn't work and your better off getting breakfast in the main via. Don't follow Google maps to walk from the station, turn right out of the station towards the tunnel and main via, Google decided I needed a really long climb!

Our party of 8 took 4 rooms here for a week at the end of September. From our initial booking, this proved to be an excellent choice. We were emailed lists of useful web links for info about trains, the walks and you tube videos about the Cinque Terre which were invaluable planning our holiday & added to our anticipation.
We opted to take taxis from La Spezia station rather than continue by train to Riomaggiore & were glad we'd opted to do that as it would have been difficult on the 2nd train with luggage - they are so crowded this time of year, barely standing room.
Other reviewers have mentioned the steps and yes, that is something to keep in mind as there are many of them & difficult with luggage but don't let that in anyway put you off staying in this great place.
The rooms are fantastic, immaculately clean & for a small additional fee, coffee makers & croissants, pastries etc are provided in the rooms which is more than adequate for breakfast. we spent several evenings gathered at the top terrace admiring the fabulous views & were fortunate as well to see some beautiful sunsets. Each room had a lovely terrace, this was the biggest so accommodated us all with ease & with fridges in each room, we also ate there a couple of nights having bought from the excellent delis in the town, cheeses, cold meats, olives, breads etc.
Riomaggiore proved to be the perfect base to explore the region- each town has its unique charm & we loved them all. We spent our last day in Portofino - easily accessible by train to Santa Margarita Liguria & boat from there & it was a fitting end to a great holiday.
Bear in mind the trains between the towns are very busy & we were sorry that the part of the Blue Path from our town was closed. But it didn't detract from our holiday as we enjoyed some excellent walking. We had some wonderful meals - lunches and dinners - in all the little towns but it is worth reserving tables as everywhere was busy & as the towns are small, they fill up very quickly, generally with pre bookings.
Our hosts were excellent, they provided us with lots more info when we arrived.
We had a wonderful holiday & I am recommending our accomodation to everyone who asks me. Should I be fortunate enough to return here, there is nowhere else I would choose to stay

Yes there is parking for 10 euros a day. That is less expensive than the public garage. You need to reserve the parking in advance, I believe there are 3 parking spots for 6 rooms.
I am unsure of parking as we arrived by train. There is a steep flight of stairs from the street to the house.
