For our trip to the Cinque Terre, we literally only had 24 hours to spend in the region. Most hotels/inns seemed to require a 2-night stay, but the Hotel Souvenir was able to accommodate the one night stay my partner and I, and my sister in a different room. The hotel, located in the historic old town, was about a 15 minute walk from the train station though we took a 5 minute cab ride from the train station, fearing the location was more uphill than it actually was. The hotel is situated on a side street from the main 2 thoroughfares of Monterosso and the stairs leading to the front gate of the property overlook what sounded like a small rushing stream/waterfall. The front desk was extremely friendly and helpful as they gave us the keys to our room. The hotel provided beach towels if we wanted to partake in one of the few public beaches in the Cinque Terre, as well as an external bathroom for guests that had a shower to rinse off, just in case. We grabbed some beach towels for ourselves as we had a sunset boat tour that allowed us to dip into the water. Our room on the 2nd floor was classic European cozy. Tiny by American standards. However, the room was clean. The bed had a firm mattress, fresh linens and comfortable pillows. The bathroom was similarly cozy but was clean, with fresh towels. My sister's room on the 3rd floor was slightly larger. The hotel also offered an included breakfast in the morning that we partook before venturing to explore the Cinque Terre. It had a good amount for the Continental breakfast spread in their dining room/restaurant, though we chose to eat outdoors at the tables set up. An espresso machine could make any type of coffee drink possible, and the front desk offered to make decaf lattes for my partner. A server also took orders for made to order egg dishes that were included with breakfast. We checked out after breakfast but we were able to store our luggage on the property while we continued to make the best of our time in the Cinque Terre. Hotel Souvenir allowed us to call it a comfortable home base for our too-short stay in the Cinque Terre.

During our week-long stay in the Cinq Terre National Park, we chose this establishment and the least we can say is that we found a rare gem! First of all, the hotel benefits from an ideal location 50m from the main street of Monterosso while being quiet. The beach and port are a five-minute walk away, while the train station can be reached in a 10-minute walk along the sea. We stayed in an economy room reserved well in advance on booking for a rate of €150 per night with breakfast included (reasonable price for the region). The room was certainly small but nicely decorated, very clean and well equipped: air conditioning, ceiling fan (super efficient), wardrobe, safe, small desk, modern and complete bathroom, etc. The hotel also offers great services including a very pleasant shaded garden, a bar and the free provision of towels for the beach.
Breakfast is taken in a pretty room or in the garden. It offers a huge choice: pastries, cakes, bread, fruit, freshly prepared eggs, cold meats, cheese, jam, cold and hot drinks. The quality is also there. The hotel staff is extremely kind and attentive, which is unfortunately not always the case for traders in the region... We only remember the positives from our stay, everything was perfect. If you want to enjoy a charming stay in the Cinq Terre without breaking the bank, the Hotel Souvenir is a master choice. The establishment is classified two stars but deserves one or even two more given the quality of the accommodation and the services.

This hotel is in a great location - it’s in the old town, ten minutes walk from the train station. We checked in at 3pm which is a busy time of day with day trippers heading back to the station - so arriving in this quiet hotel tucked away was wonderful. All the great restaurants, bars and shops were a short stroll away.
We were in Monterosso when there were water shortages, but the staff did a great job of communicating these to us and making sure we weren’t too disrupted.
Our room had air con, but it was so hot and humid when we stayed that it was much more effective to sleep with the doors open. We had a great little balcony and view over the town and hills.
Spotlessly clean and bed was nice and firm.
Loved being able to take towels to the beach.

Great location, right in the center of town. Not a new structure but clean with all the essentials (blankets, towels, soap). A lot of stairs to climb up and down (both outside and inside the structure). Breakfast was varied and good, with the possibility of ordering eggs from the kitchen (only scrambled or omelette forms though).

This hotel is located about 15 minutes from the train station. The hotel and rooms are decorated in purple accent. The daily morning breakfast included fresh fruits, pastries, cold cuts, eggs, coffee and juice. The staff were very attentive and courteous. Rooms were very modern with a/c, Wi-fi and plenty of outlets.

Horrible value - beds were so uncomfortable we could not sleep. You could hear every flush of the units above you. Expensive and worth half of what we paid. We tried to talk to the concierge but was told we were the only ones to have ever complained… looking online this obviously isn’t true. It’s a scam and not worth your money. Lots of other places to stay - stay there instead.

Rented a junior suite for 4 adults. A queen size bed with a sofa converted bunk bed. Quite a walk from the train station Lots of steps The location is close to the town. We had an early train to catch so they packed us bag breakfast which are oreo cookies, crackers, box juice etc Not impressive at all. No elevator

Absolutely enjoyed our stay at Hotel Souvenir. The rooms are nice and comfortable, cleaning is always once a day. Unfortunately our room had no airco, but there is a fan which works just fine. Breakfast is really good and comprehensive. People are really sweet and will help you with anything you need. Also, Monterosso is a great town to stay in, relax at the beach and the perfect location to visit the other towns.

Nice, newly renovated, clean, pleasant and helpful staff. Cleaning w/ new towels every day. Simple but good breakfast with the option to request an omelet etc., freshly squeezed juice, fruit and pastries. The beds are hard, and there is noise between the rooms. That's how brick houses are! Book the room with a terrace, then you can enjoy the afternoon sun from one of the sunbeds. Very efficient air conditioning, which we didn't get to use as it was 20 degrees outside. Very central location. But stairs, and not suitable for people with reduced mobility.

The hotel was conveniently located in Monterosso in Cinque Terre. The rooms were small and well appointed but had no frills or extras. We stayed in room 11 which had an AMAZING 2nd floor terrace with great views of the surrounding area. If you are looking for lush or luxury, try somewhere else but if you want convenience, quaint and clean, this hotel is fine.
