We chose this hotel due to the proximity to the beach and because it was in the “old town” of Monterosso. We had a few hotels booked and finally decided on this one and we couldn’t have been happier!! We had the 2 bedroom, 1 bath apt ..it had a full kitchen, a living room with a couch and a tv, and a balcony that had incredible views of the sea! The kitchen had a coffee pot with coffee, cream and sugar, a kettle, and dishes, pans etc…The room was very private as it was on the 4th floor …also, on the 4th floor is the hotel’s incredible rooftop terrace!! It was awesome! The hotel had an elevator and offered a delicious breakfast! The staff was kind and courteous. We had a car and parked in a parking garage 200 meters from the hotel. The hotel was located approximately 4-5 min walk from the beach. There were many restaurants nearby as well. I highly recommend this hotel!! It was one of the best hotels we stayed in during our trip to Italy!!

The hotel is very well located in the heart of the old town and the rooms are perfectly adequate in its price range. However, to get the best experience you can from the hotel, make sure to book a room on the fourth floor having a balcony with a sea view - stunning. Monterosso is a small bustling town and we really enjoyed getting back to the hotel after a day of walking and sightseeing to then relax in the garden which is located at the top of the hotel accessed from the fourth floor. The sea and village view from the garden is fantastic and we suspect few people bother to investigate this gem as we were usually the only people up there. Great place to take a bottle of wine (rooms are equipped with a fridge) and relax at the end of the day!

In the center of Monterosso "old", family management for many generations, welcomed with great sympathy and maximum availability, clean rooms and fragrant sheets, very nice breakfast and with so much varied quality, the whole team seems synchronized in unison to offer you an unforgettable stay, terraced garden that develops on several levels, surrounded by greenery among olive trees and lemon trees, from there postcard view of the gulf. I always go back to them, and every time memories of when I spent my holidays as a teenager. Thank you for the sincere hospitality and hope to see you soon. Do not miss a stay , become good friends ... a greeting and a big hug

We cannot recommend this hotel enough for a stay in Monterosso! It was a bit of a walk from the bus station but the walk was almost entirely flat compared with the slopes and steps in the other 4 towns. The hotel room was clean and updated and our room had a really nice balcony. However, a room with a balcony is not necessary as the hotel has the most amazing rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the town, cliffsides, and ocean. They had a really delicious and large breakfast spread every day, and you could take your tray up to the terrace and enjoy your food outside. We did this daily and it was a highlight of our stay.

We stayed here for 4nights at the end of May 2024.
The hotel is in a great location, just a few steps to the bars and restaurants of Monterosso, but on a side street out of the hustle and bustle. A pretty easy stroll from the train station with no hills/steps to climb.
The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful.
The room was exactly as described, pretty basic, but very clean with everything you need. The air conditioning worked extremely well, and we paid for the upgrade to have a balcony which was a nice extra touch. I liked that the hotel toiletries were eco friendly, as wash bars rather than lots of plastic bottles, other hotels could learn from this!
The breakfast was good, with lots of choice and a gluten free basket of bread/pastries for those that need it (just ask a member of staff).
We were initially looking at booking an airbnb, but the prices were comparable to Hotel Amici which also included breakfast and probably the best thing about the hotel which was the terrace roof top garden. It was beautiful, incredibly well kept, full of lemon trees and jasmine and looked out over monterosso. Such a great place to relax and always quiet.
The only downside to the hotel was the room was noisy. We could hear next door talking late at night and people talking outside the hotel (which to be fair is very few) and doors slamming. Everything is tiled, so obviously noise is amplified. But this was a small complaint and wouldn’t stop us from staying here again.
Overall and really lovely little hotel, in a fantastic town. We had a wonderful holiday here.

My husband and I visited Hotel Amici for a romantic getaway and it did not disappoint. The rooms were nice and cool and with excellent and controllable air conditioning. This is important to mention as it can get very hot in July and our room was a welcome respite from the heat. In fact, when we were visiting, there was a heat wave and we decided to stay an extra night to avoid the heat that is more intense in the cities. They were so helpful and understanding as I have a sensitivity to heat. They booked us another room for the last night and even moved our bags for us from our first room. This was an extra touch I very much appreciated. I felt cared for. Hotel Amici is also perfectly located, a short walk to the sweet waters of the Mediterranean. Hotel Amici and Monterosso is the perfect spot in Cinque Terre. We could not have asked for more. We hope to some day return with our family! Also, an amazing terrace for a glass of wine overlooking Monterosso and the Mediterranean. Just writing about it makes me want to go back!

We stayed here for a night in July as part of a long weekend in Tuscany. We had previously been staying in Lucca, and after a train journey with a short stopover in Via Reggio we arrived into Monterosso in the late afternoon.
The hotel had sent us instructions on how to get to them from the station, and these proved invaluable as they are located down a narrow alleyway and would be tricky to find otherwise. We checked in and went up to our room which we liked- it had a traditional Italian feel to it, was a good size and had a view on to an inner courtyard. There was a good-sized bathroom and ample clothes storage space.
We had read before our arrival that there was a guest terrace at the top of the hotel, so not long after we arrived decided to check it out. We were very impressed- it is on multiple levels and offers great views over Monterosso and the coastline. There are also sun loungers and a large number of lemon trees giving it a very Mediterranean feel.
The hotel is very well located for the main attractions of Monterosso, including the beach and a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants. The ferry port is also a short walk away, and this enables quick trips to the other villages in the Cinque Terre if you don’t want to take the train (driving here is tricky as there aren’t many parking spaces).
For its size the hotel has a pretty large restaurant, and whilst we had dinner out the night before we did have breakfast here. We were pretty much the only people in there when we ate, and it did make for a rather empty feel. However we were impressed with the choice and quality on offer and the staff on duty were very friendly.
This was a pleasant place to stay during our trip to the Cinque Terre and would be happy to stay here again.

Excellent experience from booking to the warm welcome received upon arrival. The location is perfect- about a 10 minute walk From the train station. The hotel sits right off of the main square so you are close to everything. The rooms are quite small, however very clean and updated. Our room had a small balcony that was awesome to enjoy in the evenings. There is a lovely garden that has plenty of seating and the best views ever. The breakfast that was included with our stay was quite good and had everything you needed just got your day. We will definitely be back. I highly recommend this hotel.

We're usually the type to book an Airbnb (sorry!), but found this hotel to be very reasonably priced given breakfast was also included and so glad we booked! We stayed in a balcony room which was impeccably clean (thank-you house keeping!) and had all the amenities you could need and more. Cute little balcony and a large terraced garden where we enjoyed a bottle of local red wine on our final night.
The receptionists were incredibly helpful and friendly. Before our stay, they made excellent pesto making class recommendations (we emailed ahead); we were allowed an early check-in as our room was ready; they gave very helpful information about travel options and discounts; and offered to store our luggage on our last day after check-out.
The front of house staff were also very friendly and attentive. The breakfast was perfect fuel for long hikes! Fresh fruit, pastries, granola, yoghurts, crispy bacon, scrambled eggs, sliced ham and cheese. You name it! I don't know when we'll be back again, but would highly recommend!!

Hello! Breakfast is served from 7:30 until 10:00.
Hotel Amici
Yes they do. My room was on the second floor and the bathroom was REALLY narrow. When I was sitting on the toilet my knees were almost touching the wall. There was a hand basin, then toilet, then that other little funny toilet you get in Europe and then shower, all lined up against wall. Unsure if other floors have the same layout.
The room we had did have a bathroom with shower, basin and toliet; small yet more than adequate.
